Stopped in just to browse, and the experience was disappointing. The owner was rude and made the atmosphere feel uncomfortable by constantly staring us down as if we had to buy something. The selection was very limited, and the prices were outrageous--I saw a Topps Series 2 Baseball Jumbo Box marked up by about $150 over retail. Between the poor customer service and excessive pricing, I wouldn't recommend this shop. There are much better card stores out there. read more

Had been going to this card shop for 10+ years when it was Dave & Mike's and they were the absolute best. My family moved an hour south and my fiancée and I wanted to check it out, so we drove an hour to come check it out And the new "owner" George was very discourteous. I was asking him questions about when he took over and remodeled the shop and for some reason, he took offense to my questions. He felt the need to remind me that he's now the owner and my questions about the shop were..."personal...?" I was disappointed to find out about Mike retiring and Dave passing away, but even more disappointed to find out that they sold it to someone so rude like George. Less selection than there used to be and customer service is unfortunately even worse. Thumbs down for George, his attitude needs some work! read more

They are all nice except for one. they yelled at us and told us to leave when we were opening packs and it was 10 degrees out. we also didn't have a ride home and we lived 30 minutes away. overall very bad store. not recommended, target is probably better. Stay away read more

I came here a few weeks ago to pick up a gift card for a nephew for his birthday as he frequents the store. Baseball cards are not my thing and I know very little about them. I went in and ordered the gift card and when the owner asked who to make it out to, I mentioned my nephews name and he immediately recognized him and knew him. I also wanted to get him a card or a few packs of cards as well, and he directed me to the packs he usually gets. All in all a smooth transaction. Not from the area, but happened to be in the area a few days ago and decided to stop in to see if they had hockey cards. They had a decent selection of modern era cards (though most the cards were 90s or early 00s) and they were reasonably priced. The guy who was working pointed out the National Hockey Card Day promo (I had already heard about it, but it was a real nice gesture) that was happening on 7/24 (today). On 7/24 I made the rounds to several card stores who were listed on the Upper Deck website as being part of the promo. Unfortunately, three of the six stores I visited didn't have cards (one said Upper Deck never sent them) or didn't even know the promo I was talking about. Luckily, The Baseball Card Store came through for me. The gentleman gave me a few packs and even threw in the bonus card for me. Both my experiences here have been positive, and it seems like they have a nice local following as they are always talking with the customers as if they know them. Came here all the way from Staten Island totally worth it. The store itself was amazing they have everything a card collector would need and if you wanna start collecting cards come here. They have cases, pages to put your cards in. The inventory was incredible they had everything I needed. The staff was so friendly everyone was a big help they have old and new cards. The Baseball card store is located right on Prospect ave in Midland Park- So it is very easy to get to although parking can sometimes be a pain ( i just do not park in front and instead go to the back or a side street). They have great prices and the people there really know a lot about baseball cards. And, after a couple of visits they even recognize you! You can buy and sell here so that is great. Everyone is so friendly. it is convenient. And I love that there is a store dedicated to all of this!! A must visit if you are a collector or enthusiast! read more
