The Basin Pub definitely ruined my night. I have been here previously, with a decent meal, sub par service. However, tonight, sealed the deal of never returning to this establishment again. We ordered some nachos, and 2 reuben sandwiches (corned beef and turkey), with a kid's chicken tenders. We got our drinks fairly quickly (5 min) but our waitress forgot the waters. Shouldn't waters just come with a meal without saying?? In a decent restaurant, you would think so. Not the case here. Our nachos took a good 20 minutes, and came out fairly cold. We had to ask for app plates from our hostess, because our waitress took off so quickly, we did not have a chance to ask her. Next, the kids meal came, but the waitress forgot the dipping sauce. I asked her again. 10 minutes later, still no sign of it. Upon a third time, she finally brought it. Our sandwiches?? Still no sign of them. Still no water. An HOUR later, still no sandwiches. I mean, come on. They cook the meat ahead of time. It is a sandwich. You grill it up, and melt it. This is a Monday night, and not a packed place. The waitress comes over and apologizes, and says our sandwiches will be comped, and that they should be out soon. 15 min later, still no sandwiches!!! We finally just got up and left, leaving some money for the drinks and app. What a joke. All the other tables around us, having come in after us, yet getting their meals before ours, were equally disgusted. One guy ordered a burger med rare, and it came out extra well done....among other things. So, we went home hungry. This place needs a new chef and wait staff. Yes, it has art on the wall. We went there on a Saturday afternoon and I was greatly disappointed. The beer selection was almost all IPA's, no porters or stouts except Guineas. The bottled selection was a joke.....bud light, blue light, miller light etc..right out of the nineties. What, no zima? Where to start? Bad food & bad service? They continue to understaff the place with surly kids working the bar and tables. Abysmal food (here is a hint, if you are going to walk by the kitchen on the way to the very dirty bathroom, do it before you eat, not after). Take a look at the kitchen, it is messy and dirty. I really can not find one redeeming feature for this place, which is a shame. They have all the right foundations with a good location but have managed to turn it into a not nice place to be. The staff (certainly the bar staff at least) are rude and aggressive, I heard them talk to multiple customers like they were something they just stood on. Will not be back. read more

I came in here for lunch on the recommendation of the concierge at the nearby Hilton Garden Inn. I was seated and served quite quickly... In fact I believe I was in and out of the restaurant in about 30 minutes. This was great considering I arrived around lunchtime, but didn't have much time to linger. Perfect place to stop at on the way home from Eastview Mall. The environment is nice and we can always get seated right away. The service and wait time are good as well. My favorite dish to order is the Chicken Cutlet! They also have a good drink menu. read more

Positives: Great atmosphere. Good soups. The waitstaff is friendly and prompt. Decent beer selection. Tons of TV's, if you want to watch sports. Negatives: The food situation is really dragging this place down. The first 2 out of 3 times I went there, the kitchen messed up my order in ridiculous ways. I got wings with no sauce. A burger with two bottom buns, and the wrong cheese. Even when the order is correct, the food could really use some work. They have the most rubbery pastrami sandwich I've ever had, and it cost $15. Some of the waitresses are really terrible. They decided a group of about 10 of us were drunk (before speaking to us) and wouldn't serve any of us beer. However, we weren't ID'd for the pitcher of beer or glass of wine we managed to get. It was unfortunate because our waitress was awesome - just put in a bad situation by one of her coworkers. Been here a few times love the basin burger. Stopped in and the sign said seat yourself and found a booth. Not very busy for Super Bowl Sunday. There was no more than ten customers at the bar and tables. Three young ladies working and not one showed up at the booth. I sat there for at least 5 minutes nothing. Set my timer with an additional 5 minutes. Again nothing got up and left. Went up the road to another pub. Service has been better before but it's been a little while since I was there. I called before I left my house which is 5 minutes away and said they weren't busy at all and I see why..... we Stood in line for about 10 minutes before we were seated. We were the only people waiting .... not a single hostess or server in sight or even a manger. The bar was dead and the bartender stood talking to one couple and not helping anyone. Been sitting at the table and the a/c is pouring out and freezing. Quiet frankly not impressed at all. Server seemed like we were bothering her. Food came out and was cold. They said they would remake it didn't remake it nuked it in the microwave then my fries and turkey were soggy. No manager or owner on site is the worst especially when it's horrible service. If you read the reviews, you know that the roast beef sandwiches are pretty good. There are certainly better, but it's notable. What you should also know though is that despite good location and excellent widescreens, you will pay $4.50/pint, the food is average despite an attempt to market as bistro, and the service is forever slow. We went on a Sunday and had a very attentive and sweet bartender. We ordered a roast beef sandwich and wings. The sandwich was immaculate but the wings were a little dry, we told the bartender and she brought us more sauce immediately, problem solved. My husband and I came here for a late lunch. We have always loved Basin Pub and their food and service was always superb. We were very disappointed with our experience. The bartender was very unfriendly and lacked basic customer service skills. With only one other set of customers at the bar we still had to wait to be greeted, wait for drinks, for the bill, etc. The bartender was more interested in conversing with the other employees instead of taking care of the two sets of customers. The employees at the end of the bar were swearing and talking badly of the bar owner throughout our meal. My husband and I worked in the restaurant business throughout college and understand what it takes to provide good customer service. Very disappointed in our experience today, hoping ownership can address this concern so The Basin Pub can be what we used to love to visit. read more

The food was good, but after the lunch rush we had to wait 15-20 minutes for tables to be cleaned off. Then another 10 for a waitress. Had to ask for silverware and napkins. My sandwich arrived without the side and had to remind the waitress. Had to ask for water refills. Tonight I went In for the Monday night football specials but when the bill came the bar tender told us we were charged the full price for the pitcher of beer and the appetizers because the game started a few minutes after we ordered. Funny because she new we were ordering based on the specials and we asked about them several times. When I asked about the check and asked to speak to the bar manager I saw her speak to the bar manager but the bar manager refused to come over and speak to us. This place is really slipping! They used to have friendly waitstaff, fresh food and a clean place. I was really disappointed today at lunch. I sat at the bar. Basin pub is a great place to stop in, get a drink and a bite to eat. They always have awesome beers on tap. The only time I was upset with the selection was when they removed Sam Adams Oktoberfest to early (around October 15 for a micro). Other than that the food is always great and I've never had bad service. I live less than 3 miles away so I stop in often. Beef on weck is my favorite menu item. The only complaint that I can consistently give is the noise level. I don't mind, but my parents tend to have a problem with it. Depending on the night the noise level can vary. Male 25 read more

I went here with a few of my girlfriends the other night. We ordered some apps and some beer.. the service was quick and delightful. Our server was attentive and kind. We ordered an array of apps : the hummus plate, motz sticks, loaded fries, a flat bread pizza and spinach artichoke dip. They were all hot when they arrived at the table. We ended up ordering another round of fries because they were so amazing!! The beer selection is perfect for everyone's tastes. I tried a few new ones I had never heard of and was pleasantly surprised. My wife, adult son and daughter-in-law and I had dinner 4/17/15. It was our first and probably last time in for dinner. The drinks and appetizers were great! My complaint - and it is significant - is that my son and I ordered entrees that included salads and we each ordered chowder. Within two minutes of being served our salads our entrees were served. Within two minutes OR LESS of the entrees arriving the chowders were served. The chowders should have been served before the entrees, and much more time should have been allowed between courses. My chicken was dry and cold, I asked for a ciabatta roll and did not get one, my cheese was not melted on my sandwich, the salmon was dry, there was no thousand island on the rueban, I was served bacon and did not ask for it, my salad and appetizer took an hour to come out, the proportion was small for the pasta. On the salad there were pineapples and regular sectioned oranges when there was supposed to be mandarin oranges, there was supposed to be mixed greens and it was romaine The service was terrible, it was extremely slow, our waitress visited out table a total of 5 times. This place is garbage. My wife ordered a Cobb salad and they served it with obviously spoiled avocados. Like brown, rotten and smelly. We complained. The server took the salad back to the kitchen, picked the avocados off and brought it out again. Didn't make a new one, didn't take anything off the bill. I had to tell the server that you can't do that because it is a safety issue and that I didn't want my wife to get sick. Server didn't care. Have had drug reps bring lunch from Basin Pub many times. The quality has clearly taken a nosedive over the past year. At least on 3 occasions the salad has contained soggy and brown/blackening lettuce. A new low was reached this week when my Harvest Salad with chicken had obviously undercooked chicken breast strips. I like fresh grilled, but not parts that are nearly raw. Others in the group have complained about soggy and undercooked loaded potatoes and sweet potato fries. We have ordered our last lunch from them. I called and talked with an attentive woman on the phone who assured me the manager would call me back but its been two days now with no call. Its a shame, used to be a nice neighborhood restaurant but not any longer. I would not give them your business. read more

I couldn't let this experience go undocumented. We stopped in with another couple for a light dinner. Our experience was unfortunately not a good one. It started off fine our waitress Caroline was attentive and pretty prompt with our drinks although not all that friendly but I can deal with that. We ordered our food which was again, pretty timely to come from the kitchen. Another server brought out food and two of the dishes were wrong. A broiled Cajun fish fry was brought with breaded fish fry and in place of a spinach salad a spinach dip was brought. Again, a mistake and not a big deal I guess. But what got me was the attitude from the staff. The server who did bring it out did apologize but then got an attitude when we asked for utensils for a second time. Our regular server not once apologized and then when the fish and salad did finally arrive the fish was not Cajun and the spinach salad with warm bacon dressing was stone cold. We were afraid to complain again because of their demeanor. I'm not a fussy person when I go to dinner I just like to be treated with respect. Not to mention the chili was sooo spicy it was hard to eat. That didn't say that on menu. I will say I was pleased to see no spinach salad on the bill so I was happy about that. My wife and I had dinner and drinks while sitting at the bar on Sunday and I must say this place has come a long way. Our bartender, Sam, was extremely friendly and hospitable. She reccommended a couple of the pubs new menu items which we thouroughly enjoyed. This restaurant is far more than a pub and far more than fried pub fare. My wife tried the seafood pasta and it was excellent! Some of the best food and service we have had in a while. We will most definently be back and highly recommend. Cheers! read more
