My husband and I marked our anniversary with an unforgettable adventure here! While the caves present slippery and narrow passages, each challenge leads to awe-inspiring sights. Pack smart for a seamless journey!

The Baths is a fun place to visit on the Virgin Gorda Island in the British Virgin Islands. Tours are available from the nearby islands in the British and US Virgin Islands. If you're arriving by sailboat like us, you have two options. You can anchor offshore and swim a short way to The Baths, or you can sail around to the backside of the island and hop a cab for about $20US/person. We did the cab route, very easy. The Baths are basically a formation and hundreds of very large boulders, and there is a trail through them that leads you to and from several beautiful beaches. It is very walkable, but lots of steps and a few slippery spots. Caution needed when venturing through the boulders. Getting through the entire maze takes about two hours, especially if you stop to enjoy the beaches. Several snack and drink locations located around the entrance. It's a nice place to spend part of a day. If you're planning a visit, you may want to ask around, it can get pretty crowded with tours and cruise ships in the area.

Stunning rock formations against the turquoise water. We went early to avoid the crowds, and still encountered several camp groups of high school kids. Still an amazing experience, swimming from our dinghy to the shore and navigating through the rocks, water. Possibly my favorite place in Virgin Gorda.

Amazing views. Beautiful blue water. Unique geography. Beautiful Island. Highly recommend for a romantic getaway to Virgin Gorda and all the sights and experiences this Caribbean island has to offer.

"The Baths" have been on my bucket list for a while now and I finally got to see it! For those of you that are not in the know about the baths, its a very rare geological formation of massive granite boulders that are being pushed out of a beach (only found in two place in the world, in Virgin Gorda and Colorado), forming crazy water caves and hidden sandy beach paths for tourists to explore. Tyra Banks apparently did her first sports illustrated photo shoot in the caves. Here are a few tips to remember if you decide to visit: 1) Wear water shoes (reef walkers) if you are going to hike down from the top. The boulders can get slippery and its nice to have some grip on your feet, and you'll also go over an area covered in dead leaves (who knows of what's under them!) 2) Less is more. Try not to bring so many things, a camera is a must but carry a small backpack to hold your stuff so you can keep your hands free. You will go up and down a few ladders, crawl under/through tight spaces and rope down one short section of the hike. 3) The hike down is easy and very desert like with cacti and dried plants everywhere, but for those that want to exert the least amount of energy possible, take the stairs down on the right side to the beach. Go left for the adventurous way down. Besides exploring the rock formations, we got to enjoy a beach (part of Devil's Bay) and The Poor Man's Bar (literally a shack that charges $4.50 for a beer but it's a welcome sight after the hike down). There is apparently great snorkeling around the area, but our group ran out of time and it started pouring. This park is very well maintained (bathrooms, picnic tables, and lockers at the beach) and this experience is a must, if you venture out to the Virgin Islands. It is on the British side of Virgin Gorda, so remember to pack your passport to get out here!

The Baths are gorgeous. I believe that it is the most beautiful water getaway that you can take. The sand is strikingly white against the most beautiful clear blue water. It will almost take your breath away as you watch the fish swimming all around you. We took a boat tour so once we were close we had to jump into the water and swim to the island. Jellyfish were everywhere and I thought that we were going to get stung. The boat captain said that they were the kind of jellyfish that do not sting. I don't know if there is such a thing but nobody was injured. The rock formations and caves are stunning. We enjoyed exploring them. Some areas are wide open and others we had to squeeze or crawl through. There was a point were you start to climb up and with that came a warning by our tour guide. We were told that if we went further up we would have to jump off of a massive rock into the ocean and swim back to our boat. Jumping off the rock is customary when you visit by boat so if you don't want to do it you don't go further. They explained that the angle coming back down from the top is very dangerous so it is prohibited to climb down.

We have had the same waitress (during the daytime) for the past 5-7 years, Cavelle (hope I spelled it correctly). This time I got the bagel sandwich- quite good and I am a bagel snob. This bagel appeared to be a Thomas' but who can be picky on a Caribbean island? My husband got the basic breakfast- 2 eggs, meat, toast, and fruit. Pleased with everything. Coffee is very good. As typical around the island, be prepared to pay. Our two melas and coffee for both without tip was $42. Look forward to returning for our typical pilgrimage in a few months.

Cruzan Beach has changed that for me with their kale salad topped with a tasty mango chutney like sauce, toasted coconuts, curried pumpkin seeds, cherry tomatoes and cilantro lime vinaigrette. There is so much deliciousness going on here its so distracting that I don't notice the kale texture. And at $13 and having a nice portioning to it, this is a great healthy lunch deal. I come to Cruzan for this salad and my hubby on the other hand comes here for the Truffle fries ($8) and lobster quesadillas ($19). Both are insanely good and if you have the kale salad it makes you feel as though all those veggies you ate cancel out the bad stuff in the other two dishes. A few other munchies to note are the jerk chicken skewers ($9), buffalo chicken tenders ($9) and the hummus plate ($14). These are good options to have with happy hour than runs daily from 5p-7p and serves up drinks that are only $2-$3 each. So why did this place lose a star? Because service can reaaaaaalllllyyyy slow down here and if you're sitting in the wrong place on the deck you will melt to death. So come with patience, enjoy the beach ocean view, sit near the back of the deck under the shaded like white tarp and if it's mid day order a lot of painkillers or mango sunsets. Cheers! #St.Thomas #USVI

Instead, I had a Cruz Bay Burger, and my wife had the Mahi Mahi Sandwich. We picked up a painkiller and a lime in d'coconut to wash them down. You'll see people complain about prices at the Crossroads, but not us. The food was hot, tasty, and the drinks were smooth, yet strong (which is why we only had one each). It's worth a couple bucks more to have your food at one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Maho Beach is one of the best places to see sea turtles, and we managed to see one, despite the cloudier-than-usual water, due to wave action. The other complaint you hear a lot is from folks who remember Maho from "back then," a quieter time, with no Crossroads. I get that, especially for folks who live on the island. But for the tourists, it's sure nice to be able to have a complete experience at Maho--amazing beach, food, recreational rentals, shirts, mugs, etc. We picked up a couple fun reusable pint cups with our drinks, and now use them back home. It's a happy memory, for sure.

The need to route through St. Thomas, coupled with the wonderful visit we enjoyed in 2021, led us to intentionally stay one overnight at the Marriott Frenchman's Cove, and we had a great time and enjoyed one a most beautiful sunset, from the floating mat at the beach. This trip we enjoyed: - an afternoon in the beach, complete with mai tais! - Dinner next door... The resort has a couple large floating mars that are anchored; several adults can lazily get some sun while socializing. We also had a snack at "the pool bar," Sunset Cove Bar & Grill... which offers a good selection of good for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacking in between. We enjoyed: - afternoon snack - hummus and carrots & celery; and very good mai tais - breakfast the next morning We enjoyed laying on the big mats floating in the water... you get a tan and stay wet while enjoying the outside. The night we were there, we enjoyed an absolutely beautiful sunset from the floating mat... so nice! On an early trip someone explained that the Caribbean is just at a position in the ocean where the tides are just not very noticeable; brief internet searches suggest the tide only varies from a few inches to a foot or so... such small changes don't lead to many waves. You'll likely see and enjoy hearing waves "lapping at the shore," but you're not likely to do much body surfing... if you have a boogie board, you'll likely be better off leaving it at home. - - - Thank you, Frenchman's Cove staff! - - - ----- ----- -----

Once we got back they still hadn't had anyone look at it so we suffered one night and got moved to a new room the next morning. The AC goes to 65 but it will only get done to 74 if you are lucky. So be warned. Second) we got late check out for 1pm but we were bombard at 11am over and over again until 1pm. It was ridiculous! Took us twice as long to get out because we had to keep answering the door. Lastly three) me and my mother had a cabana by the spa pool and a spa treatment. These were short treatments but with them you get access to the spa amenities. I was shown the lounge room but nothing else, but my mother who went before me was shown nothing. She didn't even know that it was an option for here to use. These should be shown to everyone. The professionalism there is lacking. Overall the bars and restaurants were great, sometimes you do have to wait but you are on island time so it's not a huge dealbreaker for me at all. Everyone is very nice and friendly even when we needed help. Just keep in mind it is HOT and this may not be worth the price they make you pay.
