One of the best sausage gravy's I've had. Great flavoring but not too spicy or too intense of a sausage taste. Just about perfect. And the best part of the whole breakfast.....the bill! I kid you not...Bloody Mary $7, Pineapple juice $3.00, Biscuits and gravy $16 and side of bacon $3. With "most" meals being in the stratosphere on this island, High Tide was a welcome relief.

The spacious dining area with a great happy hour and dinner menu comes out at 5:00. We got there for the lunch menu and were glad we did because we got sandwiches which were great. Candidly, nothing on the dinner menu blew our minds. The tuna sandwich with wasabi and arugula was fantastic, and the tuna was prepared perfectly! We also got shrimp tacos that were better than the sandwich for what it's worth. Our server, who didn't give us her name, was sweet and attentive and even brought a cask of water without us asking. At the end of the day, High Tide delivered as advertised. Three last thoughts if you've read this far: Park at the MVD and walk; it's not that far and free. Get the Key Lime Pie; it was outstanding but pretty typical of the area. Lastly, stop at the merch store and grab a t-shirt, which are some of the best I've seen so far!

Stayed at Ritz Carlton, chose an interactive Christmas dinner on Lovango Beach. Catamaran trip to the island included a buffet dinner. Upon arrival, the buffet options were limited, and a surprise bill of $300 was presented, unbeknownst to us. After voicing our concerns, we reluctantly paid over $700. Contacted Cruz Bay Water Sports for a refund, but they declined. Ritz Carlton management intervened, refunded the original amount, and apologized. Others reportedly faced similar issues. Be cautious when booking with Cruz Bay and Lovango Beach Resorts. The expensive experience, combined with feeling deceived, left a lasting negative impression. In the restaurant on Lovango Beach, there's a hidden cemetery marked by a small painted fence. The unexpected presence of a grave site added to the unsettling feeling of the experience. read more

Beware of the Automatic Gratuity…read more We stopped at Hook'd USVI during our visit to St. Thomas. The location is great, the marina views are nice, and the food was okay. We ordered the Fish Tacos, Jerk Smashed Burger, and a Frozen Rum Runner. What future customers need to know is that Hook'd automatically added a 20% gratuity to our bill, even though we were not a large party. Then, at the bottom of the receipt, they included another tip guide suggesting 18%, 20%, and 22% tips. In my opinion, this is misleading. Many people are used to adding a tip when they receive the receipt and may not notice that a 20% gratuity has already been added. It's easy to accidentally tip twice. I have absolutely no issue rewarding good service, but restaurants should be upfront and transparent when gratuity is automatically included. Customers shouldn't have to carefully inspect the bill to avoid paying an extra 20% on top of an already-added 20%. The food was decent, the atmosphere was pleasant, but the billing practice left a bad impression. Before you sign your check, review it carefully and make sure you know exactly what has already been added. Bottom line: Decent food, nice location, but check your receipt closely. The automatic 20% gratuity and additional tip suggestions can easily lead to double tipping if you're not paying attention. I've attached a photo of the receipt so customers can see exactly what I'm referring to.
