All around the grounds are well kept. It's an exiting course worth the price. The course has a couple of par 3 where you have to hit it over the water a bit of a challenge if you are a rookie. This course has a lot of water.

For $41 dollars, I expect a lot more on the effort to maintain the greens. They probably stumped at 4 and bumped at a 12.

The pics tells it all. Great course but absolutely worst kept greens in all of greater Houston. This is a $18 course right now, not $40+.

This is green of a hole after I started this review

Judging by the rating this isn't going to be a shocking review. First we were playing with 5 people and they made us break up. Started off bad but okay course rules. The greens were terrible...terrible. Then our two groups meet up at the end of a hole before we moved on to the next tee and the Marshal Immediately came up and harassed us. We made sure we kept separation after that. Then just randomly another marshal comes up to us right when we were about to hit our second shot and told us we had to speed up or start letting all their single golfers pass through. (We already let 3 singles go through between both groups) we said that's fine but get out of here while we are hitting and at that the marshal started cussing and getting Belligerent. Needless to say our play went to crap. We called into to complain and whatever manager was on duty said we were lying. It's just a crappy cheap course with old grouchy morons. Not worth your time or money. 50%+ of those playing were singles ... Oh and you if don't believe me about the greens look at my picture below

The place is kinda hidden, they offer a small museum and a view up top the monument. Overall it's pretty cool because you learn how Texas was born

This course is in the absolute worst condition of any I've ever played. Had there not been a group of us from out of town playing i would've asked for my money back after 1. Very nice clubhouse and bar though, and the history aspect of the course is cool.

Move the green on #6 to the fairway.

Hadn't played there in a while. Got on the course this past weekend and was very disappointed. Greens are lost again. Took pictures of a couple, but they are all bad.

The one negative was that we didn't like that the driving range was on the other side of the road.

East River 9 is the spot to go hang out, have a bite to eat, and play a quick round of 9-holes or hit at the driving range. East River 9 also has a restaurant along with a huge outdoor patio. We've been here several times and their cheeseburger is one of the best we've ever had! The only down side is it's a bit small for your average burger. One of the server's mistakenly thought it was a kid's cheeseburger. She even said they were the same size. The cheesecake tasted bland with a creamy milky taste rather than cream cheese. The only complaint I have was our server was rude and had an attitude. Unfortunately, I didn't get her name. She was unfriendly and short with us. I guess she didn't want to be there that night working, but I didn't appreciate her rudeness. I asked politely for a receipt and she just slapped it on the table without saying anything. However, Jaden was helping her and he was very attentive and offered great service! It won't stop us from coming here, we'll just make sure it's not in her section.

There is some challenge with the holes that line the fence (and there for the street), so beware of wild balls going into the road. They have a great driving range and putting practice green. Unfortunately there's no where to practice chipping though Club House The club house is nice with driving range buckets by the door and the restaurant in back. The clubhouse staff and management are the reason I won't return. I had an unusual misfortune on the 3rd hole when playing from the rough, my club slipped from my hand on the follow through and went straight up and hung in a tree. After looking on the ground I decided it must have hung up and couldn't believe it when I spotted it about 15 feet above stuck on a branch. I decided to discontinue my round and call the clubhouse to try and get help. Here is where the difficulty started. After explaining my situation to the guy behind the desk, he told me that maintenance was busy and suggested I "just write it off." I explained again that the club wasn't lost and if someone with a pole from maintenance, when available could meet me, I could show them exactly where it was and retrieve it. I asked if I could call the maintenance manager. He told me they were only on radio and said that the more I kept him on the phone the more it delayed him from contacting them. He reluctantly took my number and information on where the club was and suggested I was holding up play (when I had actually stopped my round) and said I could come back and check in the maintenance shop to see if they found it. This guy clearly had no interest in helping. About 1/2 hour later I decided to visit the clubhouse and ask for the manager. He did come out and we stepped into a private office and a second individual followed us in. I explained my situation and dissatisfaction with the response up to this point. Besides a blank stare I got " I went to look myself and couldn't find it." I responded that I was not surprised since it is very difficult to locate unless you knew where it was and that was why I had asked someone to meet me at the location. At that point, the second gentleman who had walked in spoke up and said "I'll take you out there" I found out his name was Luis and he was from accounting. He grabbed a pool skimmer pole and we went to the site but the pole wasn't long enough. He got the maintenance manager, Jose on the radio, who came and immediately after seeing the situation went back to the shop to get a long pvc pipe with which he was able to dislodge the club. Luis took me in a cart back to my foursome so I could resume the round. I am very thankful for Luis and Jose who clearly understood what customer service was supposed to look like. They unfortunately were not the ones in the customer-facing positions at this course. In my mind those individuals' behavior can only be explained by them deciding I was a liar I had angrily thrown the club and that they weren't going to help.
