First time here in the 15 years. Food was good. Service was okay, but we did come in the wrong door so I don't think they recognized that we were there for a few. My general rule of thumb is if a bar has shuffle board, it's a 5 star place in my book and the Beacon is no exception. Nothing fancy going on here but the food & drinks are solid and consistent. Our bartender/server, Kelly, was a fanatic sport when we had a large group of people in for a night of drinking. She made us delicious green tea shots & cut us all fresh lemon wedges for our lemon drops. I also stopped in for food and I'm now convinced they have the best curly fries I've ever had. Hostess seating us noted, could do better when asked, how are you doing. Menu prices are not what you pay, a piece of paper on the menu notes prices may differ than what is on the menu. This note has been present since at least 2022 and the menu price on all web sites shows the same as in the restraint. Example, a beacon burger notes $8.85 when in fact it is $13.80 (57% increase). Every item I asked about was higher that what the menu noted. The burger I went with tasted like the grill needed to be cleaned or it was burnt. How can a business run for years without updating their menu. The waitress did not even know what the current prices of any food item was without checking first. This may be an okay place for locals to drink at the bar but definitely not recommended to eat. read more

We came here for a private event. The restaurant did a wonderful job and the service was remarkable!! This place is divided up between a restaurant area and a bar area both very spacious. The bar has a pool table, shuffleboard, and an electric dart board all fun to play! The service was top notch and each staff member was very helpful and made sure we had a enjoyable evening. We greatly enjoyed the food as well from the array of appetizers to the entrees. I would definitely go back when in the area. read more

I took my family to The Beacon and we were all pleased with our dinner. The place is more of a bar with a roadhouse kind of environment, but there is an adjoining dining room with a sparse decor. However, the food was pretty good. They have a mix of homemade items and others that are obviously not. My wife had the French Onion soup and enjoyed it. She couldn't tell if it was homemade, but she enjoyed it nonetheless. It was prepared in the classic way with bread and melted cheese in a personal sized crock. The Chicken wings were very good served with a garlic mild or hot sauce with slices of fresh garlic. The Fried Chicken was a half bird and homemade. It wasn't a spicy recipe, but it was very crispy and well prepared. My daughter ate every piece and was happy with her selection. Unfortunately, the French fries were typical frozen fries and underwhelming. The Chicken Parmesan sandwich was well made, and it was enjoyed by my son, but he wasn't thrilled with the sauce, but we're from northern New Jersey, so your chicken parmigiana had better be great to please us. I had the meat loaf that they claimed was homemade, but I'm not too sure about that. However, it was served with a nice gravy and was delicious. The mashed potatoes were homemade and delicious. The meatloaf and mashed potatoes were served with pickled beets, and I enjoyed those too. Overall it was a nice friendly place to eat and the food was well above average. I wish there was a "horrible" rating to choose. Simply "not good" does not describe how ridiculous this situation was. We had been going every Wednesday evening with friends for dinner for a few months. We would have between 4 and 7 of us at the table, on any give Wednesday. Late July we showed up as usual (4 of us this time) and it was an extremely hot day. The dining room was much hotter than usual and we asked the waitress to turn on the AC. She left, came back and said they'd lost the remote. We offered to stand on a chair to turn it on manually and she left the room again, returning with the bar tender, who rudely said they would not turn on the AC for only 4 people in the dining room. What?!? We got up and left, going to another restaurant. The bar tender even had the nerve to say the power was out west of the restaurant and there would be no places able to served us if we left. We will NOT be back. I have told everyone we know about this encounter and will continue to do so. read more

Interior was very disappointing. And service was cold just like the weather outside. If it wasn't for the fact that it's so cold outside n the next restaurant was miles away I would've left as soon as we walked in. Food was ok. We had chicken parm. The sauce was good but the chicken was just a breaded cutlet not pounded and thin. The Italian wedding soup was nothing special. The desserts were too sweet - got the truffles and peanut butter pie. Plus our server was rude and not very welcoming. I wanted to hang my coat but the coat rack was full of old t shirts n sweatshirts. Like their pile of list and found. We decided to eat at the bar and stay for a few drinks after dinner. The homemade pierogies were delicious and the wings are incredibly good. The service is friendly and warm, prices are reasonable, large serving sizes... it has a real neighborhood feel.. we will be going back again and again. read more
