More like a 2.5 but since that can't happen a three it is. When you walk in you're greeted by an upscale fancy farmhouse vibe that borders pretentious. It is lovely looking for the most part. The waitstaff was friendly, nice, accommodating, and helpful; service was really good. The food was hit or miss. The corn scallion cake is amazing and flavored well. But, the main course was not very tasty. There are no salt shakers on the table which tends to indicate confidence with building flavor, but our meals were bland. Had the chicken steak since they 86'd the pork schnitzel dish and it was a bit over cooked. Portion size was huge though, but for the price it better be. The capers and white wine butter sauce should have carried enough acidity and salinity but it didn't. My wife had the shrimp fried rice and it was pre-loaded with onions that "couldn't" be removed. Fried rice is easy to make, should have been fired onions free. She didn't really like it. Over all a less than stellar outing at an expensive price tag. read more

We went here on a whim, when in Honesdale for the evening. We tried to get a table on OpenTable and it appeared they were extremely booked. We took this as a good sign, and we disregarded some of the reviews that were questionable, as we often like to form our own opinion, and we relied on those that were good. Unfortunately, we should have trusted our gut. I rarely leave reviews though I feel compelled to do so just because our experience left several things to be desired and I'd like to help others avoid this. Upon entering, the ambience was lovely and at first our interactions with our server were OK. After waiting 45 minutes for our appetizer, it came out and it was wrong even though we were only one of two tables with guests. Another 20 minutes passed, and when I asked about our food, the server gave me attitude, telling me that they are made in order. I guess they can only make a few plates every hour. Interestingly, the table behind us ordered after us, but had already received theirs. When it finally came out, I wish I could say it was worth the wait, but it really wasn't, the rice I had was quite bland, salmon was slightly overcooked, and the cabbage that was with it was more appropriate for a German dish, and had an overly sweet sauce and was braised to nearly the point of mush. My husband's ribs had a nice flavor albeit fairly dry. We were not offered any additional drinks, and at the end were asked if we "liked it." We literally stumbled upon this restaurant. They have a great wine list and the food was amazing. My partner and I split a salad with apples, goat cheese, candied pecans and frisée. Our entrees were the pork and chicken. I love that the food is farm to table and everything was delicious. The service was excellent and I love the decor of the restaurant. A true gem in Northeastern PA in Honesdale. Very intimate and classy vibe that reminds me of restaurants in Charleston or Savannah. It's all farm to table food with a great knowledgeable staff. Get Toast the Ghost to start and try the corn and potato scallion cakes and noodle salad as an app. The coconut chicken and shrimp curry was an excellent entree to split. I wanted to upgrade my review as we have eaten there a number of times and one very off night should not be the last thing I say about Dyberry Forks. There are a few items that you have to have and my son being a vegan enjoys their vegan options also. The corn pancakes and scallions we always have and my son loves the vegan crab cakes also. Except for the one night their Steaks are usually great and I always try their specials. And their brownie desert is not to be missed. I also like the rustic decor. All in all a rare gem of a restaurant. Their service though can be spotty at best lately but I truly hope the owner is able to iron it out though I know good help is hard to find. Getting any specialty drinks from the bar can also be a hit or miss.. stick with a glass of the house wine or a beer. read more

Didn't think there was good vegan/vegetarian restaurants in PA This place is awesome, One time just wasn't enough - we went two days in a row that's how Good the food is!! first night we got the artichoke cakes (must have), potato leek soup, the veggie curry and for desert we had the strawberry and brownie (which was vegan you couldn't even tell) Everything was delicious... second night we got the beet tartare, potato and leek soup again and I got the beyond meat tacos and my mother got the burger w/ fries (ummm... the fries were so good I was stealing them off her dish no ketchup or sauce needed.) the staff was so friendly and inviting. Excellent ambiance, food and service in the heart of the historic town of Honesdale. This place gives off great vibes even during a pandemic. Menu is sophisticated mixing vegan and meat dishes. They are inviting to all health and dietary restrictions. I went with craft cocktail and the fish special. It was a macadamia crushed halibut with coconut rice topped with a mango salsa. There was a peanut sauce too. Usually I'd like pe it dice but it was too much for the dish. You don't need the strength of the peanuts to overpower the macadamia and coconut flavors. The fish was delicious ms cooked perfectly. I really liked that they had non dairy ice cream. Went with pistachio. Was unimpressed with the presentation of the ice cream s most was melted and looked like they struggled to get some in the dish. Tasted great though. Hello All Let me start by saying I have never left a bad review. We have eaten here a couple times over the past yr or so and the food & service were good. Unfortunately, we had gone about a week ago at 7:30 on Saturday for dinner & drinks. We were a party of 3. We walked in and the place was empty except for 3 tables that had 2 diners each. Upon being greeted by assuming the manager/ server. Short blondish hair lady in a pony tail. We were asked if we had a reservation. We replied, no. Never had 1 in the past. She then said we are only serving those with reservations, with an attitude to boot. When asked, if she could accommodate us anyway. Seeing as it was empty. Again, with a firm nasty attitude, it's reservations only! So, we turned around and left. There was also another couple behind us who were refused service as well. It cost her more to open for the evening that she would make with a few tables. So, that being said. Are you a restaurant or not ? Why would you chase away the only people coming through the door? If you could not accommodate diners. Maybe, change your nasty attitude, maybe say, sorry we had to close the kitchen early this evening. Instead of chasing off the customers you may have now & in the future. I see it as a blessing anyway. Assuming the food would not have been as fresh as the server. A shame, it's a nice place. During their Sunday Supper, the menu is limited but the portion is decent. They do have a regular menu which is more extensive with daily specials during their regular hours. Amazing food in an unassuming location! We visit the Honesdale-Hawley area two to three times per year. Excellent restaurant food is hard to come by. We noticed Dyberry Forks and gave it a try. WOW! Outstanding food all prepared in house...no freezer to microwave food here. We couldn't believe how delicious the smoked brisket was--easily the best smoked beef I've ever tasted. One in our party had the vegan cauliflower with pistachio pesto option and loved it. Dessert was homemade ice cream and sorbet and it was delicious. Service on a quiet Thursday night was professional and friendly. We'll be returning! read more

Service and ambiance was fantastic. Comfortable relaxing dining room and service was fast but not pushy. Wait staff was polite and accommodating. On to the food. I had the NY Strip special and wife had surf and turf(flat iron and shrimp. On the plus side, food was seasoned correctly, most of the time In restaurants I end up added salt and pepper to the protein, Not here perfectly seasoned. Asparagus was grilled and seasoned perfectly also. Only 2 minor negatives. 1 chicken gravy on the mashed potatoes instead of beef gravy( I did have steak so). And my dumbest complaint, using an ice cream scooper to place mashed potatoes on the plate( home made and tasty). Made it look like school lunch. And if your use a scooper at least flip it over and make a small pool of gravy. Told you it was a minor complaint.... I plan on going back again soon!! read more

The food was delicious, and the menu provided such a variety of new & interesting foods that you don't see around here often. The drinks were also amazing, but what stood out to me most was the service. Our server, Lauren ( I believe that was her name) was AMAZING! One of a very few restaurants in the area with excellent food. The chef cooks NY Strip Steak or Ribeye to medium rare perfection, as good or better than any NYC steakhouse. When it's time for coffee and dessert, the coffee is served in a French press. Vegetables and all ingredients are fresh and local. The pear vodka martini was a superb cocktail. I hope this restaurant never changes and maintains its high standards. Pike and Wayne counties are sorely lacking in cuisine, and most establishments produce only mediocre meals at best. read more

This place has just the atmosphere my husband and I wanted for date night. Candles were lit, the lighting was nice and they had great music. I had the violet martini and it was strong but great! Well we went back a couple of weeks ago. That was before I saw the owner's comments. I guess I must of been in a bad mood again! I went on a sunday and didn't realize there was not much of a choice in the menu. It was a fixed menu. This was a few weeks ago so I don't remember everything I had. I do remember having a meat with a whiskey marinade and it tasted like it was dipped in whiskey and placed on my plate. Once again rare meant well done. Desert was good. So if I ever go back I will stick to coffee and dessert. But seriously after reading the owner's comments on my past review I will be keeping out of there. The few times we have been there everything was great- the food, service and drinks! This was one of my top restaurants in town. This time I would give it zero stars if I could. The service was horrible, 2 tables in the place and we had to wait to be seated and then the server had a horrible attitude. We ordered a 2nd round of drinks which were simple red wine & a Tito's with cranberry and had to wait 15 mins. When asking the waiter since we were half way through our meal- He responded the bartender is making them but thanks for the reminder. This was unacceptable response. Never asked if we wanted dessert or coffee. Dropped the bill and left all the dinner plates on the table. Please get your s$it together because I would love to come back. Didn't expect the $25 prix fixe menu on Sunday evening - no a la carte menu available. Entree choices were very unequal: ribs, tofu or a salad. I went for the ribs (so did most visitors, apparently - they ran out mid-way through dinnertime, with half the restaurant being empty.) My ribs were served cold. As in, so poorly *reheated*, that they were lukewarm outside and cold inside. After eating a rib and half, I complained. The waitress took the plate and returned it with just the two untouched ribs (apparently) taken off the plate and reheated. Sweet potato fries, gazpacho and chocolate pudding that came with the entree were fine, but overall the experience was quite disappointing. read more

Considering the food available in the area, this is one of my go to restaurants for a nice dinner. They are really trendsetters with their recipes and have one of the more unique menus in Honesdale. I have seen the chef play around with the menu for the last few years and currently my favorite dishes have been both the Steak Frites and Filet Mignon. Both steaks are made really well and the sauces accompanying them are great as well. This restaurant might not wow you, but it will be a flavorful and unique meal that is hard to come by in Honesdale. read more

The first time I came here over a year ago with my mom, it was great. We had great service, yummy food (poutine and steak!) and a reasonable corkage fee. The last time I was here was last week, and it was a different story. The service was still decent (though they forgot my boyfriend's beer, twice), but the food was awful. Our steaks (nearly $30 a pop) were gristly, overcooked, full of fat, and greyish in color. And we both got stomachaches afterward. The fries were decent and crispy, but tasted old and stale. The salmon his mother ordered was reportedly pretty tasty. Overall, a very disappointing experience from one of the few "finer" dining establishments in town, and not likely to have us back soon. read more

Very fresh menu options with a farm-to-table concept, and they always have vegetarian/vegan items. (Thank you!) My favorite entrée is the Noodle Salad and my boyfriend's is the Pork Buns but the menu changes often so we like to try new things. Cocktails are creative too! Only minor thing to note is they usually rely on one server so service can be slow if they get unexpectedly busy. We stopped here on an off night. They usually aren't open on Tuesday's but were open during Christmas week. I had never heard of Dyberry Forks but were walking down Main Street and decided to give it a try. We were very pleasantly surprised. The bartender was doing double duty as a bartender and server that night. Her skills were excellent as she was very polite and attentive as a server and made very inventive and delicious drinks that were beautifully presented. Mushroom Ragout polenta was extra creamy not gritty and bursted with the taste of corn, I only had wished for a greater serving but the mushroom lacked flavor. The Beet Tartare will make anyone a beet lover and the aioli served with cakes could have been eaten alone but I didn't! And yes, I had to have two servings of Blutiful!! So good! read more

DF is definitely our favorite spot in town! And what's not to love? The vibe is cozy, the cocktails are always on point and the food is AH-mazing. We love coming here for a date night (ask for a booth) or for a fun (adult) family dinner. We have several plant based in our family but vegan and meat eaters alike always have so many options to choose from. Personally, I highly recommend the artichoke cakes, noodle salad and cauliflower & mushroom tacos. Also, the beet tartar, spinach & artichoke dip, steak frites and the "DF" burger are all favorites across the board in our family. I used to love this place back in the day so we returned after maybe a year or so. Our server (who was actually the manager) was very attentive and accommodating with us as we went with my 4yo. When we arrived we were the first table to be sat and later on about 5 or 6 more slowly trickled in with reservations (we had reservations which I absolutely recommend as places are being strict with covid regulations. The place doesn't have a kids menu but they offered to make butter noodles for my daughter which was really sweet, however, The noodles were mostly tasteless flat noodles with a soupy cheddar flavor my daughter refused to eat. She's picky so I didn't think much of it. There were two other servers being trained at the moment and they were very attentive and engaged at the beginning of the meal but they did fade away as the night progressed. Now, let's talk about the food. I had the sushi salad as an appetizer which wasn't actual raw fish but somewhat room temperature with a small amount of baby lettuce on the side. It's offered as an entree but it is definitely on the small side so order additional sides/meals if you're hungry. The drinks were bitter and lacking the je ne sais quois That DF used to have back when drinks like BEES KNEES would have you dreaming of mezcal. We ordered two dif drinks and they both tasted close to the same. After our meals came (more on our main entree in a min) we ordered another round of drinks and they never came. We asked for them again and again a third time and they finally made an appearance. I ordered the steak frites med well and it was overcooked, hard and with an epic fat side. I'll forgive the fat which is common on ny strip but Jesus, it was so overcooked it's unforgivable. My fries was the focus of my meal as they were excellent but my already hungry kid claimed most of them. My husbands burger was bland with no taste whatsoever, a huge disappointment from our previous experience there. My hubs and daughter had the brownie for desert and an order of macarons, both were excellent and my compliments to their baker or macaron supplier (I bake macarons. Ergo I'm strict with the quality as it's not a cheap cookie for a reason). I had the almond cake which was delicious if not a bit dry, the strawberry compote paired exquisite. The manager did come back to ask us for our experience and we explained we had been regulars once upon a time and I was too embarrassed to say anything about the food given that we did eat it. We were damn hungry lol but I figured it is only fair to point these things out so they are corrected before they continue to disappoint. read more

We made a reservation through their site via open table. When we got there, they said sorry, but they were closed. But, but, but.... We have a reservation. Sorry. Shortly thereafter I received an email saying my reservation has been cancelled. It was 8:00 on a Sunday night in The Poconos without a reservation. Yeah good luck with that.
