What an enjoyable Sunday brunch. I brought my mother here to celebrate her 87th birthday. We had a blast. Excellent cocktails. Excellent brunch entrees. Highly recommend the Spicy 926 burger. The service was spot on from the hostess, that seated us earlier than our reservation, to our bartender/server. Everyone was super efficient and accommodating. It was quite a memorable experience. Will definitely be back.

We stopped in for late night drinks and this place was so cute! I can't wait to come back and try their food items!

We were greeted and welcomed gracefully. It was our anniversary so they provided us with complimentary champagne which was nice. Dinner was great, food delish 10 out of 10. Service was awesome very attentive. Then at the end they gave us complimentary peach shots with a peach fruit puree based on our order drink of preference of the night which was admirable. It was great, great atmosphere. Great service. Definitely recommend.

Everything was very good - from our Servers to the shared appetizers to the dessert. There were 4 of us and we all enjoyed our selections. We actually were able to the share the Mussel appetizer which gave each of us a nice portion of the starter. It was fun to try the Beer Flights because 2 of us got them, picking different ones, so we got to sample various tastes. Entrees ran from the giant-sized burger, to the equally large and perfectly cooked Pork Chop. The Lamb Chops were delicious and again perfectly cooked. The sides were very very good. The shared Cheese Cake desert was also a hit. With the above and 1 glass of wine the bill before tip was around $90 a couple. A great place to check out.

While on a girls trip, stopped in for brunch and was not disappointed. The decor is tasteful and with natural light, makes the area warm and inviting. The service was by far top-notch. The staff was friendly, attentive and very knowledgeable. The server even gave us recommendations of what to do in the area since we were from out of town. The brunch menu at Alter House has a variety of choices, with the eggs benedict having perfectly poached eggs and served with a wonderful hollandaise and ham. The fried chicken sandwich was on the larger side, but was perfectly crunchy. There was also a wide selection of brunch cocktails, including a mimosa tower which is perfect for a large group, and other unique house made concoctions. Overall, would rate it a top tier brunch spot for the area!

I came here last night for New Years Eve (actually, celebrating a birthday), and was super impressed! I definitely needed reservations-- not sure if it was just because it was a holiday weekend, but I suspect this place is packed on the regular because it's pretty nice. Ambiance was on point. Lovely greenery wall, light wood accents, soft lighting, tasteful Christmas decorations. Tables were far enough apart that you don't feel like you're right on top of each other. Because it was NYE, there was a live acoustic guitar player, complimentary champagne, and a free photo booth, which were all unexpected and delightful surprises! Even without those wonderful extras, we would have had a great time. I went for the shrimp and potato ravioli (which had some chunks of lobster in the sauce) my mom had the halibut and a soup. Everything was cooked wonderfully and well balanced. Portions are modest but the food is filling and meant to be savored rather than gorged on. The quality of the cooking, presentation, and the freshness of ingredients certainly merits the price. I had been hoping to try the crab and brie fries but they didn't seem to be on the menu (maybe not the holiday menu, or maybe they're not on it anymore) but if they still have them I would return to try those too because I'm sure they're rocking. Service was phenomenal. Overall, a really lovely place and definitely worth a visit if you're looking for somewhere upscale yet warm and welcoming to dine in the Poconos!

While away for work, I stopped in. When I arrived I parked in the lot. I walked into a very nice restaurant. It was packed at the bar but found a seat. Tammy and Amanda were my bartenders, and they were great. I ordered wine and a lemon drop, and they were tasty. For my meal I got the seabass. It looked delicious but it needed salt. All in all I enjoyed!

My fiance and I came to visit Alter House after hiking in the area. We were excited to visit and support a farm-to-table, as sustainability is of utmost importance to both of us. First off for covid era - we felt very safe with their protocols and distancing. The table was disinfected prior to our seating, and all staff had a face shield. Our server was very friendly and personable, and continued to follow up with us at appropriate times for refills on alcohol and water. My favorite thing is probably their beer list! Absolutely amazing local beers, all drafts at $6. The flatbread was the best dish of the night, you could have fooled both my fiance in I that the crust was cauliflower! The tomatoes were so fresh, summery and perfect. Both of our entrees were a bit disappointing. Overall we found both of them to be a bit bland. As for my chicken sandwich - I wanted to love it, but I didn't due to the lack of flavor. But the chicken itself was absolutely so tender, and fresh. His pasta tasted mostly of lemon and the flavors weren't cohesive or married, but the fettuccine itself was well made and had a nice texture. We were glad to have visited, thank you for having us Alter House.

Excellent food and service. Let's talk about the awesome bar. I counted 18 bar stools! Love the outside with heaters too. Food was great. Drinks were excellent.

Pricey, pricey. But food is excellent and it's a really nice place. Outdoor area and music are awesome. Aging yuppie crowd.

After 6pm, the meters are off, which was convenient timing for us to get dinner. Atmosphere/Vibe- The decor was nice, sort of a modern industrial look with brick and black accents. There was soft music playing (a 2009s boy band) and some "punny" named drinks that felt perfect for a millennial. I am part of this demographic, and loved that! Staff- Very friendly and personable. Knowledgeable and willing to accommodate a substitution. Food- I started with butternut squash soup, which was quite good. My husband had french onion soup, which we felt was about average. I had the salmon dinner entree. The salmon was excellent, perfectly cooked with a nice light crust. I asked for asparagus instead of brussel sprouts, and the asparagus spears were cooked, but tough, and the carrots were perfect. The smear of celery root was not warm, which was a bummer. my husband had braised short ribs, and said he felt his green beans were underdone, but the meat was extremely tender and delicious. His smear of squash puree was also cold. We both had the crème brute for dessert, and that really was the star of the show! Overall- this place is what you make it. If you like to have more control of your meal and like a variety of flavors, it might not be for you, but we really enjoyed it!

Since there were no customers at the time, we approached the bus boy to ask if they were in fact open. He yelled into the kitchen with our question and received the answer "no". We told them that their website indicates that they are open until 11:00. The two servers looked at each other and then told us that the kitchen closes at 9:00. They only had bar service until 11:00. What restaurant closes their kitchen 2 hours before closing?! Am I to believe that a patron could drink for 2 hours (until closing time) without any food service? After an event at the Cultural Center, we passed up a few restaurants in downtown Scranton and drove to Clarks Summit to PATRONIZE LOCAL BUSINESS. No good deed goes unpunished. Never again!
