A friend of mine visited here last summer and recommended it whenever I was in Apex. I never go to Apex. Until a friend's meetup group scheduled an afternoon "let's have cocktails all afternoon" Friday. Yup, count me in! I got there right at the appointed time, and the early birds were already halfway into their wine. There is a large patio area outside with chairs and tables in small groups. A sunshade and some nicely placed trees help a little There are a few 2- and 4-tops scattered around as you enter. To the left is a large square bar that projects into the room. Behind it is a veritable library of liquors, towering to the ceiling, which is about 9-10 feet high. Seeing the bartender climb up the sliding ladder and fetch a spirit was part of the show. Further to the left are two seating areas with round tables. We had one of these. The Cabernet proved to be the darling of the group (I think we had three bottles and a few extra glasses, but no one was counting! There were eight of us, so don't think we're a bunch of drunks!) I had looked over the menu online and started with the "Up in Flames". It's a Tiki drink, served with a squeezed lime shell garnish that has a sugar cube and some kind of liquor in it. The waiter lights it while still on the tray, and then sprinkles in cinnamon, which sparkles into the drink. He then extinguishes the flame and serves it. It was quite a show and very delicious! If I ever go and sit outside, I'm going to film it! After a bit, we were getting hungry, so food started appearing. The fig & prosciutto flatbread arrived first, (with a single plate and napkin). It was a 12" x 6" flatbread spread with honey, figs, prosciutto, chèvre, and arugula. Another of these came out later. Quite delicious. Someone else had the nachos, which they said were amazing. After asking, the server brought out more plates and napkins. Other cocktails that we tried and enjoyed were the Perro Perdito (Lost Dog) and the Drastic Measures. The Mango-chili shrub in this one packed a bit more heat than the Jalapeño dip! But it was tasty, with the salt/tajin half-rim. After a few hours of fun food and drink and a lot of laughter, we decided to release our hold on the table. The dinner crowd was champing at the bit to take over, and we were pretty sated. It was our first time trialing N&S, although we had been talking about stopping in for a while. The facility itself is a blend reminiscent of a speak easy and literary lounge. Part of why we were drawn to this spot is the aesthetics, but the drinks were pretty good as well. They offer a fun cocktail menus with a few beers and wines. If you're a hard seltzer drinker, this may not be the place for you, as the emphasis is more on their mixed drinks. I appreciate the option for mocktails which were tasty and every bit as wonderful as the cocktails. Great atmosphere to have a relaxed hangout with friends. Lawdy, y'all need to try this little bar with big flavor. It's next to Scratch Kitchen in Apex. It's a GORGEOUS bar with balanced, inventive cocktails + bar snacks. We had a twist on tiki drinks, pisco sour and an old fashioned. All were order again good! We got the meat charcuterie board. Not a ton of gluten-free or dairy-free snacks, but it's a bar. It has cute seating inside plus nice seating outside for a delightful evening. Parking is accessible in the lot behind the building or across the street. I literally can't wait to go back. While it's such a cute location and I loved the decor, it does not make up for being severely understaffed, poor service and sub par food. Meat and cheese board was meager. it was missing items that were advertised in the menu. The apple crisp was abysmal. the best description I can offer is a bowl of grape nuts covered with limp room temperature apples and ice cream that I had to chisel out of the small bowl that accompanied it. we never received our waters or any silverware and had to ask for napkins. the menu advertised a lager and my husband was given a light beer. I truly felt sorry for the folks working. they were overwhelmed. I was very disappointed in this experience. read more

This cocktail and dessert bar is a very welcome addition to downtown Apex. It serves a purpose for both pre and post dinner or is just a decent place to catch up with a friend or 2. It is fairly small but you can also sit outside. I didn't try any desserts since I was full from dinner but my husband and I each tried a cocktail. He had the up in flames (see video) which comes with a cool presentation. It didn't quite pack the flavors one would expect from a tiki drink and was a bit on the sweeter side. Overall decent drink but there is room for improvement. My chai espresso martini was delicious but other smelling a bit like chai, didn't taste much like chai. I did come here on a Friday night so it was busy which made it a little confusing. We found seats but weren't sure if we would be served or if we had to order from the bar ourselves. We placed our own drink order but someone did eventually come around and offer us menus. I would say on a busier night it's best to order yourself from the bar. I definitely want to return and try more drinks and some food! read more

Neat and Sweet had amaaaaazing food! Their butter board and cheese board was so good. Cheese fondue was so yummmm; I think they mixed a few cheeses... Crème brûlée and chocolate mouse desserts were full of flavor, but if I had to pick one get crème brûlée. Ambience was also on point with indoor and outdoor seating. Service also quick and the servers kept checking in on us. As for drinks, they had a nice selection of cocktails, mocktails, wine and others. Although I have been to the restaurant, scratch several times, silly me, never looked over my shoulder and realized that they have a lounge on the other side of the hallway. I visited there recently with a date, and the ambience was really quite nice! Very comfortable with a wide array of types of seating from Armchairs and couches to high tops and bar seats. I ordered wine and my date ordered a cocktail and both were quite good and I found both the server in the bartender were quite a attentive and circle back to make sure that what we ordered was to our liking. I would definitely return again and recommend this place The only negative... It does not have great acoustics, and they were three or four guys sitting on the couch rather loud, and they drowned out our conversation on more than a couple of occasions.
