She really took her time and made sure everything was perfect--and it definitely showed in the final result. I was actually her first client needing a gel removal, and she did such a good job. She was super gentle the entire time, nothing hurt at all, and I felt completely comfortable. On top of that, she was so fun to talk to, which made the whole experience even better. At the time, she was working at one of those walk-in salons that didn't require appointments. She eventually moved to a different shop and I moved to Tennessee, but that didn't stop me from driving back to Columbus for a great haircut. She's extremely talented, attends classes and conventions to stay up on the latest trends, and is a wonderful person. If you don't live in Newark, do yourself a favor and take a road trip. They offer chrome and cat's eye, but otherwise it's a better spot if you're just into standard gel, or a mani pedi. I wasn't super impressed with their selection of purple shades last time I went in, but they did an ok job at the nail art I was coaxing them to do, and they really didn't want to do any nail art since the nail art tech wasn't in that day. Well I looked on her instagram account that weekend only to find pictures of her attending a P. Diddy concert the same day!!!! She also made a post the night before saying she was traveling and would be ditching all of her Saturday appointments because of this concert. How inconsiderate and unprofessional!!!!!! Mind you, I had an event I planned to attend and started freaking out because I took out my weave already only to be told the day of that I couldn't get my hair done. Every women of color knows how much of a nightmare this is, as I could've kept my weave in and did it myself if I knew she would pull this type of stunt. I understand that things happen, but to EMAIL a customer a half hour before canceling their appointment so you can attend a concert is ridiculous. I found just the color I wanted with her input. My nails look fabulous and I'm excited. The salon is bright, clean and well appointed. There is plenty of parking in front. Their prices were competitive with other salons in the area. Making an appointment was easy over the phone and a confirmation email came the morning of the appt.
