I cannot walk past without going in, and I have been using their products for years! the little yellow house is so cute, and the owner-man that is always working is so kind & nice! my favourite soap is the patchouli (much to the dismay of my coworkers & friends!) and I always pick up a couple candles and a handful of those flavored honey sticks! yum! I purchased a new bar of soap today, called 'Supporting The Troops' and all proceeds of this particular soap go to the men & women who have served Canada in times of war! (at least that's what the label says) smells so good! read more

While walking in Kensington one afternoon, I stumbled upon a quaint little yellow house called the Beehive. This little boutique carries all wares bee-related - everything from scented beeswax candles and soaps, to lotions, shampoos and bath bombs. This place was buzzing the day I was there, with shoppers happily sampling testers of the products and shopping in the many little rooms. This is the only store I've ever seen that carries chocolate-scented soaps, candles and lip balms, of which I purchased a few for gifts for the Queen Bee, my lady. All their products are all-natural, and the prices seemed high but reasonable considering the quality and craftsmanship. read more

Who knew you could make so many products from beeswax and honey and such? A lot of the products are made in-store from locally sourced ingredients. Expect to find candles and soaps,hair products, lotions and skin care products (for men and women), flavoured honey and so much more! It's worth a visit just to peruse the selection and get some ideas! Oh, and the flavoured honeys add a nice variety to your tea and cocktails ;). How cute is this spot? If the bright yellow exterior doesn't beckon you through the door, chances are the smell of beeswax will. I'm a honey fiend. I've been sugar free in the house for just over a year, take pollen in the morning for a little bit o' boost and my pucker stays purdy with serious beeswax, so this little spot was right up my alley. It's cute & stacked to the rafters with stuff without feeling cluttered. I was pleasantly surprised to note that everything is made in house - from the candles to the soap/shampoo & personal health whatnots. You can basically outfit yourself and your entire home with honey, should you so choose. Though I didn't grab anything on my first go round, the prices were reasonable for handmade fare and if I lived locally, this would easily be a stop at christmas for natural, giftable goodies. It's at least worth a poke in the door, because dang - this place is adorable! read more

Love this store. The owners are great, the honey and bees wax is all sourced locally, and all ingredients are for real natural. Unlike Lush, rocky mountain soap co, Body Shop and others, Beehive products actually do NOT hide sulfites, aluminum, and other chemicals in them! Unrelated note: i was really disappointed to find out that Rocky Mountain soap co "all natural" crystal deodorant has aluminum hiding in it under "alum" in the ingredients! the whole point of buying this product was to avoid aluminum! this is what spurred me to make my own deodorant, super easy recipe is equal parts coconut oil and baking soda- I used beehive tee tree oil for scent (and anti-bacterial properties) it works great, and stands up to a roller derby 3 hour practice, so I think this recipe is good enough for most! Beehive has a great selection of essential oils, and of the 4 or 5 I have used they are all great quality. Love their soaps and products, and the price has not increased in I don't know how long! Only downfall is the hours- 10am-5pm makes it hard for anyone with a day job to stop in, but it is worth it making a special trip on a saturday to stock up. read more

This actually deserves NO STARS. Long story short - yelled at by a customer service rep here and told to never come back because we tried to make a transaction right. We paid for something in advance and never received it for 4 months and they claimed it was our fault for paying for something that they never really agreed to give to us. Despite a receipt/sales contract. I have never been yelled at by a sales person before but man he certainly had the guts to lash out at us and treat us badly in the store. I do not recommend this store at all. All in all, your probably reading this thinking this is absurd.. And it is. My jaw is still on the floor as I type this. read more

Default setting for those who wash. Local bees, local wax, local owners. Discerning collection of 'ingredients'. The plant-oils alone keep me a regular customer. Then the soap. Then the lotions (Mountain Man or BUST). Then the wash peripherals (IE shampoo, bubble bath). Then the massage yum. Oh yeah, don't forget the honey. Post Script -- the most genuine staff I have yet to find in any shop. They love what they are a part of. If you do not live in Calgary, phone them and see if they ship. Trust me. I was exploring Calgary and passed by this store. At second glance, I knew I had to come in! I loved the decor of the store and I wanted to check out their items made from all natural products. First off, the staff is amazing! Upon entering the store, Stan was very helpful. Not only did he give me a brief overview of the store, but he also gave me useful tips to checkout around the Calgary area and neighboring towns. The store has a great selection of oils, soaps, lotions, lip balms, etc. I bought a bunch of different scented soaps and lip balms. I look forward to using their products! read more

When it comes to bath/body type gifts, I head over to the Beehive above anywhere else. Why? They are local. They are very conscious about the ingredients in their products, and you would be very hardpressed to find anything listed on their labels that isn't naturally derived. Aside from the Alberta honey used in their products, they do not include any other ingredients derived from animal sources in their ingredients. This shop is charming, in the heart of Kensington, and even though I spend all of my time in this community, I still usually can't walk past it without going in on my way to work if it's open. read more

Initially had a good experience shopping there and was recommended a face mask to try. When I got home and put it on it burned my face so bad that I had to wipe it off and my face stayed red for a long time. I went back to the store to ask for an exchange but was told that it must be unopened because "it would be no good" for them. How would have known it burned my face without putting it on? When the clerk tried the mask on my hand it did f burn but this was intended for the face. And yes it is no good for me either. I will not be going back there again for any purchase despite me liking the other products I purchased. Update: I was promptly contact by the owner of the business who left a very detailed response to my complaint and offered to provide the exchange. I also received a voice message from the clerk who initially told me I couldn't exchange the product and he apologized for his customer service that day. I edited my rating because of their response to my complaint and felt like they were concerned about customer satisfaction. I wish this didn't happen in the first place but I'm glad they handled it well. read more

Nice man greeted us warmly as we came in. Everything made in house. Bought a rosemary/mint shampoo bar. Quite powerfully scented throughout the store, so use the conveniently placed coffee beans as a palate cleanser. Website wasn't working, but otherwise they will ship if you have orders. read more

My parents and I have been shopping at The Beehive all of these years. The customer service, in-store and online, is exceptional. It is always a pleasure to shop at The Beehive, and not only because of how wonderful the store smells. I've been using the Baby Lotion and Baby Bubbles for the last few years because they are gentle and moisturizing, but they also help heal skin irritations and are lightly scented. The Baby Lotion has actually kept my skin moisturized through dry Calgary winters, including my hands and feet, and helped sooth and heal skin rashes from various chemo and cancer treatments. With no parabens or chemicals, I can use any Beehive product without worrying. read more

I am super happy to find this store! Pure natural products, safe to use on super sensitive skin. I have been suffered Eczema for over 2 weeks, tried Aveeno Eczema care cream, became super allergic, then tried the family doctor's prescription cream, again super allergic. I felt very very upset, felt I can do nothing for my hands. Then the girl in the store recommended their mountain man balm to me, works like magic!!! After I applied about 4 hours, the redness already fade away, a little stinking in the beginning, disappeared after 1 hour. By the 2nd day, my hands healed 50%, 3rd day my hands healed 90%. I really couldn't believe my eyes. As my hands get better, that stinking feeling became less and less. Their products are so much better than the body shop, L'occitane. Plan to change all my body products to the bee hive. Because I trust their product safety and effectiveness. Thank you so much, bee hive!!!! read more

I have sensitive skin and searched for yeeeears for products that wouldn't irritate it. I tried making my own and it was better than drug store bought, but nothing has made my skin as amazing as these products have. I have been shopping here for 5 years and am a customer for life! I recently moved to California and have tried to source out products of similar quality with no luck. I'll ship to the US if I have to, I can't live without my Beehive face wash! read more

This place was such an unexpected gem of a find during a recent visit to Calgary. The owners were awesome and so incredibly helpful. I just happened to be browsing the neighborhood on foot when I decided to stop into this cute little shop to see what kind of bee products they had. I was so excited to find a wide variety of edible products like honey, propolis and bee pollen as well as body products like soaps, lotions, oils, etc. I bought a honey soap and was surprised by a gift from the owner of a bar of chocolate soap! Both were incredibly moisturizing and luxurious. I will definitely stock up when I go back to Calgary! BTW, loved the owners! read more

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER. Lady was very rude, did not care at all about helping me, and when the products gave me an allergic reaction they would not return them to me. I would never recommend this store to anyone and i will certainly never be shopping here again. read more
