While trying to find a certain beer on the brewery site, I thought this was a different place... I'm not the brightest at times, but quickly I acknowledged that this wasn't the other place I liked... While on 202, I sped past Malvern and said to my wife, "hey, we're by Malvern, wanna check this out?" So, again, not being the brightest, I was already past Malvern, but turned around at the next exit. When we arrived, we were immediately greeted. I was overwhelmed. Everything was here. Everything except what I came in for. I was told that the account representative for that brewery quit three weeks ago and a new person hasn't been out yet. Oh well... We were driving by the area and my husband suggested coming here and said he always wanted to go. I was looking for a specific watermelon beer. They didn't have it but they had a ton of other stuff. They have a lot of beer I didn't see anywhere else before. I like fruity beers and I got a bunch including key lime , passion fruit, tangerine, etc. We also saw some beers by our favorite brewery from CA - The Bruery. It's really hard to find them in this area - we order them online and have them shipped to us. But we found a bunch of them here so we grabbed them up. It is their older stuff not the new releases - but we will definitely keep checking back to see what else comes up. Maybe we won't even have to order online from them anymore and we can instead come here. We got a bunch of other beers too - I don't even remember them all. My husband got sone blackberry pot de creme beer and some other stouts. The cashier at the counter was very friendly as well and was talking to us. The beers are pricey though- you can't come here all the time. We bought so much beer and we didn't even need beer we had a lot to begin with. I thought I'd add a review since the clerk and a customer were laughing about yelp reviews this evening and sayIng they didn't care. And he was also telling a story about a customer calling and saying they could get the same thing at Wegmans much cheaper and he laughed and said well go ahead. That's the problem with this place. Prices and rude worker. OK admittedly I have not been here since before Covid. So I walk in tonight and I see all the taps but the screen above the taps is blank. They used to have all of the many beers listed. I do see four people sitting and drinking beer so I go to the counter and ask the guy if they still serve beer on tap. He says well why do you think those people are sitting over there. It was kind of a smart ass reply. I thought maybe they purchased a beer out of the cooler and sat down to drink it. I said well I haven't been here for a while and the board is black. He said they have a booklet to look at on the bar and it's a much smaller list. So I had my beer which was perfectly fine. I then browsed for some beer. Found a six pack that I wanted to purchase turned it over and the date was the year 2019. Gose silver cans I don't recall the brewery. Not sure if that was the canned date or the use by date but either way I thought that too old for me. I bought a locust lane four pack and a Hell or high water melon six pack. I thought the cooler felt kind of warm and I got home and cracked open one of the beers and it's barely cool. Definitely not cold. Anyhow, I love the concept of this place but execution is horrible. What an awesome place to hang, grab a taste then shop for some really good beer. The beer man, Darren at the tasting room was so friendly and seemed to be having a great time hanging with locals. Really knows his beer and served up two fantastic IPAs I have never had or heard off. --BEER SNOB ALERT-- This place is the shit. Since opening a few weeks ago, my boyfriend has been there so many times he knows the guys by name already. Last night he took me to grab some brews for our thanksgiving feast and, holy cow, now I get why he's been raving about this place. When you walk in the door, you'd think you died and went to Craft Beer Heaven (which comes equipped with a bar where you can order from a list of about 30 drafts). Isle upon isle of beers perfectly sorted and labeled. The staff is friendly and very knowledgable about beer which is always so helpful. They did an excellent job with the set up of the store...truly maximizing every available space. And maybe it's just because everything's new and shiny, but it's difficult not to buy every last bottle. If you follow them on Facebook, you will indeed not be sorry. Since their grand opening, they have been running random beer specials. For example, they scored a case of Dogfish Head 120 minute IPA yesterday. It was released at 10am and when it's out, it's out. Luckily we scored two bottles last night and cannot wait to a crack them open. It's these little things that make this place a great spot. It may not be the cheapest place around, but when it comes down to their selection of beers, it's second to none. read more

Recently stopped by after a recommendation from a friend as a great place to find hard to find high demand beers. I wasn't disappointed in fact I needed help just to find the beers I was looking for as they have so many both local, regional and national. Needless to say I was able to get Sipe of Sunshine and Boom Sauce as well as a recommendation from the staff who were great with helping me find what I was looking for as well as the recommendations that were on point. Lots of selection, a bit sparse on West Coast breweries. The common thread is all beers are way too expensive, as in 2x the cost if you find it elsewhere. On top of that I bought a Modern Times IPA in the fridge that tasted awful and it's one of my favorite breweries. I look on the bottom of the can and it's 7 months old! The cheese plates looked very interesting. The staff here is friendly and helpful. Cool place to go browse beers and enjoy a pint or two. They have about 30 beers on tap, and fill growlers. They do not offer food (unless you think potato chips is a food group!), but you can bring in food from elsewhere. I LOVE the Beer Store. I go with my husband once a week and sit and try the most fabulous selection I've ever seen. This is a strange concept, part tap room, part store. The taproom has a smallish granite bar and an adjacent large marble community table. There are fun folks hanging out and we always strike up a conversation. I have tried the most amazing beers from all over the country. Many micro and nano brews. There are 20 on tap most of the time. Hard to say anything bad about a place with the selection (probably the best, of the best beers, within at least an hour radius that I've found) of this one. The bartenders and the gentleman at the register were very personable. That reminds me...since you pay for everything, including your bar tab, at the front, it is very easy to forget to tip your bartender directly, a mistake which I won't soon be repeating. My one knock on The Beer Store has to do with inventory management, which is perhaps expecting too much, and perhaps even not their responsibility at all. You see, along with the other 200 million "beer enthusiasts" in America, I enjoy IPA's. So this past Saturday, I treated myself to a four pack of Firestone Walker's Double Jack after enjoying some other excellent beers of similar style at their bar. But alas hops, and the IPA's they embitter, are a fickle friend, and one whose staying power is notably weak, which is to say that an IPA enjoyed after about the six-month mark is but a shadow of its true self, and some would even put that figure at 90 days. It even says as much on the Double Jack packaging. So when I took my first swig at home the next day and noticed a lot more of the booziness, and a lot less of the bite, than I expected, my suspicions were aroused. Perusing the label, I was aghast to find that this particular bottle, as well as its three sleeve-mates, were produced on February 22nd of the year of our Lord 2014, making them on January 25th of 2015 almost a full year old. Should I have checked on this prior to purchasing, given that this particular brewery is over 3000 miles away from my point of purchase? Most likely. Would it have been nice if The Beer Store had done this for me, instead of doing the beer-store-equivalent of a grocery store selling me moldy cheese? Sure. But you don't stop shopping at Trader Joe's, an otherwise excellent grocery store, just because they sold you that moldy cheese that one time, and I won't dock The Beer Store more than one star for this offense, their multiple other redeeming qualities considered. I'm not above drinking year-old beer, and truth be told, neither are you. But if we can avoid it, we'll both have a better time. I'll be back, repeatedly. I'll just check the label next time. read more

Update: been here a few times (ok more than a few). They get a ton of hard to did stuff that you can't find anywhere else! Great selection! Super friendly. Ok the place has only officially been open for two days and I have already been there 3 times! The place is very big! They have everything there! Not only the standard stuff, but they have lots of hard to find stuff. I saw stuff that I never saw before! Also that have a wide variety of taps that anyone can find something they like. Prices are fair on everything I bought considering it is a 6 pack store. Just as important everyone there is super knowledgable and super friendly. I asked for them to get something in for me and they had it there the next day! Very happy going there read more

Checked it out for the first time today, bought a Stone Ruination 2.0 and realized it expired on 9/22/15. Every other one on the shelf was also expired. I returned it for a Knee Deep Brewing Breaking Bud. I didn't look at the expiration date until I got home, and it expired on 12/7/15. There's no way they aren't aware they are selling expired beer. They charge more than anyone else, save your money and get fresh beer by going to wegmans up the street. read more

Both a beer store, bottle shop and place to hang out with a draft beer- this is your one stop shop. We went last week to try one of the 30 rotating drafts. They were out of a sour cherry and I was super bummed as sour beers are hard to find. I went with the Lagunitias apple esque which seemed to be a combined sour beer and cider- very refreshing! The prices are reasonable and bartender was friendly and let you try a small sample before ordering. Two things to note: they close at 10 even on weeknights and you can bring in outside food (recommend ordering pizza from the neighboring pizza joint). read more

If you are looking for something that is exclusive, where you can't pick it up at the local distributor or Wegmans, then this is the place for you. They aren't going to have the cheapest prices, nor is that their niche. It's a boutique type bottle shop with limited and diverse selection. While the selection of beer is big, many of the prices are simply outrageous. Here you can expect to pay up to twice the amount of $ for the same beer that can be found at other nearby places. For instance, they were selling Lagunitas The Waldos for $22 (before tax) whereas every other place around was selling it for around $13. Guy at the counter tried to sell me some BS about how their prices are determined by the distributor! Yeah, right.... he changed his story when I called him out on it. Great selection of various beers both on tap and on the store shelf. If you don't see what you are looking for, don't be afraid of asking if they can get for you. That's what I did and they were able to get me a bottle from distributor. They also have various beers on tap that are rotated on a regular basis. Amazing place! You must go if you are interested in craft beer or just starting out. Not the place to go for your buds or millers but they do have it. The bar has ample seating and it's bring your own food! The bartenders are witty and helpful and always happy to help you expand your palate. It's a 5 star place, which also means it's pricey. Don't expect to walk out of there without paying for it. All in all its my weekly stop on a Friday for a beer after work. Check it out, cheers! read more
