i've been going to the bethesda group for 10 years. in my time there, i've had some truly excellent therapists who helped immeasurably with my many mental health issues. it's thanks to them i was able to manage my problems enough to finally get a college degree. however, i've also spoken with people who had much more middling experiences (both with group and individual). unfortunately, like any large-ish practice, there are good and bad therapists and good and bad group leaders. i was lucky in that i only had fantastic ones, but i'd fully believe there are some who aren't so good (or are even actively bad). so while i wholeheartedly recommend, i also suggest looking for reviews on specific individual therapists you end up with or trying to swap if the one you're seeing doesn't end up working for you (i had no trouble with that myself, although another review mentioned they did). read more
