The reviews on Google were very good, so I came and was happy with the results. Julie is a sweet lady. She has one of the lightest touches of any threader I've been to. So pain level was low. I have a lot of hair, so I usually talk to the threader for a couple minutes about the shape I'm going for. Otherwise, it could go in many different directions. She understood immediately what I wanted. She actually taught me a little more about what shapes would look best on my face. She also waxed my lip and I barely felt anything. The next time I visit this city, I'm definitely going to call ahead and try to book a few more services. It's not easy for people in smallish cities like this to find good eyebrow artists. I chose Shimmer Salon because it was close to my home and had good reviews. I was able to schedule my haircut online with Yelina. I loved everything about my first time visit with Yelina that I have been back two other times for haircuts with her. The salon is on the main floor of this old house and I love that, like many businesses in Ocala. It is always clean and neat when I visit. Yelina always does a great job with shampooing, conditioning, and cutting my hair. Yelina also always finds a way to keep the volume in my hair and cut it so it looks like a new haircut for at least a month afterwards. Yelina is also quick, maybe because I'm simple with my requests. There are several other hair stylists here and they also have a tattoo studio. They have blowout memberships and products for sale. The hours are better than most salons in the area and they have their own parking lot. I've never had my nails look like that and they were only 2 weeks old. They seemed to understand my concern, so I was under the impression they were just fixing my nails. When the tech reapplied the original color I chose, it would not cure- it looked rippled again, and easily wiped right off of both hands. He told me there was something wrong with the polish and to choose a different color. He rushed the polish this time, didn't even file my nails, then walked me to checkout and I could see him change the screen from "gel repair- $0.00" to "gel color change- $30.00". That's what I paid originally!! It was confirmed it was a product problem when the same original color couldn't be applied again today, not just normal wear and tear. Having to pay DOUBLE for a service that should've lasted DOUBLE the time isn't good customer service. I would have just waited until I was normally due for a polish change if it was communicated that I had to pay AGAIN for a half-ass service. Any other nail salon would've waved me on my way and gotten my business back next time! I even said I was happy to just leave a tip, but they still wouldn't budge on having to paying for the polish change. It shouldn't be that difficult to do the right thing in rare circumstances. Avoid this salon!!
