My daughter doesn't drive, so when the tire went flat on her new e-bike it was kind of a big deal for her, because she had no other way of getting to work. Apparently most bike shops won't even service e-bikes, because they are kind of a pain to work with. Mike and Krista were great--not only did they get the tire fixed, but they even worked around my crazy work schedule so I could pick up the bike before they were even supposed to be open. The Bike Barn now carries disc golf discs, which is what brought me here. They carry Trilogy, which are Latitude 64, Dynamic Discs, and Westside Discs. Most people who are new to the game have likely started out with Innova plastic. Innova is great, but personally I've really started to like Trilogy discs. They are worth a shot once you have more of an idea of what you want in a disc golf disc and are ready to put a little more money towards some great discs. Initially I just wanted to check out the disc selection and maybe pick up a midrange as I haven't been happy with mine lately. I ended up picking up a driver and a midrange. The driver was the Latitude 64 River in Opto plastic. The midrange was a Dynamic Discs Truth in Classic plastic. The prices are okay. For the two discs I got, I found that I could get them online for about $4 less. Not bad for getting to look at the disc, choose my color, feel the weight differences, etc. Plus I got to check out The Bike Barn! I'll likely come back here for some new bike tubes in the near future. Now for the important part of the review...how did the discs perform? I drove over to Dry Creek Trail Park to try them out and was very satisfied. The first throw of the River went straight into the ground, but that was my fault. After that it threw like a dream, amazingly straight and far. I overthrew two of the holes on the drive, which I rarely do. Because my drives were going so far and right where I wanted them, I only had to use the Truth once. The one time I used it it placed me right by the basket for an easy putt. Overall I'm very happy with the discs, the price was decent, and I'll likely come back in the future for more discs as well as bike needs. read more

It's 30 minutes before my triathalon training clinic and I'm hauling a bike borrowed for my sister that needs the pedals traded out from clips to cages and a bike that I borrowed that suddenly lost all air in one tire as I was trying to pump it up. Arg! Well, luckily The Bike Barn was just down the road and was open for another 30 min. I checked the address and hustled down the road in my borrowed car with a borrowed bike rack. No, I don't do this often. The Bike Barn is exactly as it sounds, it's a tiny little red building, sort of resembling a barn, tucked in next to another little building on one side, and an alley on the other, which is where I pulled in. I ran in looking a little frantic. The inside is nothing fancy. There aren't rows and rows of expensive bikes, but from my frenzied look around, it seems to have everything you might need, in particular, a very kind looking man named Mike, or Matt. I already forgot, sorry. I'm assuming he's the owner. I told him my troubles and he came right out to take a look. He un-racked the pedal problem bike and popped the flat tire off the other and carried them inside. LITERALLY 5 minutes later it was all taken care of and I was on the road again. He said he doesn't charge for emergencies and wished me good luck in my training and in the upcoming race. As he quickly changed out the pedals he mentioned how folks often asked if working on bikes was easy. His response is...well, it is if you've been doing it for 20 years! If you're looking for great service from a super experienced and very nice person, I'd check out the Bike Barn. read more

The people here are very friendly. Stopped in to have them look at an issue with my rear cassette on a cheapo bike. He was able to replace it in just a few minutes and send me on my way. I'll definitely come back for fixes and maintenance. read more

I was recommended to this place by family. They said it was good price and good repair. I took my road bike in for a basic tune-up. A new tire, new grip, nothing big. I was shocked when I had still not received a call after a week. So I called in and they hadn't even gotten to my bike by that point! The doubt began. I called again a few days later and they said, "don't worry, we will call you when it's ready." Another week and a half passed. No call. I tried calling again, no answer, so I went in to claim my bike and take it somewhere else! The shop itself was pretty dang disorganized. But the bike was finally done, which had not been relayed to me by phone call, which was promised. Furious with the ridiculous wait for such a simple tune up, I expressed to them how I could've gone anywhere else and gotten it done in 3 days for the price they charged. She went on to excuse themselves that "it's just that season and other bike shops are busy too." Ridiculous. They didn't even offer a discount for the extra wait. We ended up waiting 2 and a half weeks with little to no communication OR apology from their end when they said it would take a week tops. Poor communication. Poor execution. Long wait. The two stars are just because they managed to give a proper tune-up. read more

The Bike Barn is truly a great place for repairs. Very friendly. Very courteous. I took in my Schwin Stationary Bike with stripped threads in the pedal and Mike tapped it out and gave me a workable pedal. The bike works great! THEY GO THE EXTRA MILE!! I really like the Bike Barn. They have the supplies I need and are prompt in doing repairs. Plan to go in the afternoon on weekdays.

I just needed the chain repaired for my son's bike. It kept falling off, and I kept putting off getting it repaired. I took it to Bike Barn and they were fabulous! He literally repaired the bike within minutes, and was just so kind and helpful. I will absolutely use them for all of my future biking needs and I encourage anyone who reads this to do the same! The turn around on bike repairs is quicker than other shops, and Mike provides this service with a more friendly, accomodating style than any other shop I've been too. I gave this place 3 stars because the lady (that I think is one of the owners) was pretty helpful when we went in. She told us about a bike that is great for helping little kids learn to balance on a bike. It has no pedals and is pretty low to the ground so kids only fall a short way if they tip over. The lady was friendly and like I said, helpful. They also had a good selection of helmets including the adjustable ones I was looking for that they sold to us for a good price. She even adjusted my son's helmet for him so that it fit snuggly. However I didn't give them a higher rating because when we went in, the rows of bikes inside weren't for sale. They were all there for show. I thought that odd. The bike we wanted wasn't assembled and it was for an enormous price. Also, the lady, while friendly and mostly helpful, was wearing a very stained old t-shirt which I thought wasn't very professional or respectable. The t-shirt didn't even have the name of their company on it so I could have given my money to someone off the street and not even known it. The shop is not in the nice big building that you see on the street either, it's located at the back of the building, is very tiny, and looks very old and worn down. So basically pluses and minuses to this business. read more
