We had an issue with my sons bike and needed to get the brakes replaced after a month of having the bike. It was a warranty fix and so there was no cost to us but it took a very long time and there was zero communication. We had to call for updates and finally had to call and ask when it would be ready just to find out it had been ready for a few days but we had received no communication it was ready. A week after we got our bikes, I got a flat tire. In the process of pumping up the new tire, I lost the O ring that goes inside the mini pump. We brought our pump to the store to see if they had an extra O ring, but they ended up giving us an entirely new pump for free! It was so nice of them. It stinks that there is a line to get into the store, and customers aren't able to touch anything, but I am grateful for their precautions in protecting against COVID-19!

The bike I got wasn't fully set up and in just the second ride the chain jumped between the sprocket and spokes, broke three spokes and bent the rim, hanger, and derailleur arm. Since then there has always been something wrong with it. I think I've been fixing/adjusting something every other week for 2 years now. It has ended up being an okay commuter bike (I ride about 4 miles to-and-from work every day) for the last 2 years, so it gets a lot of use. Maybe that explains the frequent troubles. I guess it's good if you like practicing your bike repairs.

He allowed my daughter to play with some toys he had in his shop while we chatted. He was very welcoming and pleasant to talk to. He told me he was backed up by a week to which I told him that was fine. He then came over, immediately identified and showed me the problem, said he could fixed it and that he'd tried to have it done quickly since I assume it was an easy fix. We left and I got a text later the same day. I wasn't able to return until the following day (today). He welcomed my daughter and I in again. His youngest daughter was there with him and the 2 girls went to town playing while Eduardo and I chatted a little about his work and different things. I found out it's his shop and that he and his wife run it and a few of his kids help too. Anyway, I paid him for fixing my son's bike. A simple 35ish bucks and he told me I could probably send the receipt to the bike company (Guardian) and that they'd likely reimburse me the money I paid for having him fix it. I half jokingly said "well then you should charge more" and he replied with "we do alright and I don't like to double dip". I would have paid this man more for his service. He was pleasant, nice, very professional and obviously highly honest! After paying and getting the bike loaded back into my car he invited my daughter to stay longer to play if she wanted. I sat and watched both our daughters play for another 15 minutes or so. He and I chatted a bit more before we thanked him and his daughter and left. Please go to this man's store. Worse, the bike now only shifts through half its gears (it worked perfectly before), and the "repaired" tire went flat after one ride in my driveway. When I tried to inflate it, the tube popped at only **10 psi**, indicating a faulty installation. **Bike #2:** The experience with my wife's bike was even worse. The quote spiraled from a tune-up to a total of $365 as they continually found "new" problems, including issues with a derailleur that had zero problems previously. **Customer Service:** Jerry's communication style is aggressive and condescending. When I questioned the mounting costs, he used scare tactics, repeatedly telling me the bike was "dangerous" and "unsafe to ride" to pressure me into more repairs. When I tried to voice my concerns about being nickel-and-dimed during this three-week ordeal, I was laughed at and hung up on three separate times. I was even insulted personally when he told me he "would have never let his bike get this bad." This shop relies on upselling through fear and has zero respect for its customers. Phenomenal Customer Service! While on vacation in Utah with our car and two road bikes, we had a…read morevery serious car accident and our bikes flew off the rack and landed harshly near our totaled car. My husband had to spend four days at Utah Valley Hospital in Provo for broken vertebrae, ribs and sternum. I had to retrieve the broken bikes from the tow yard 2.5 hours away and then figure out how to fly back to California. So glad I called Hangar 5 in Orem! Preston Weeks answered my call/cry for help and graciously greeted me in my rental van with all the contents of our road trip including the broken bikes. He took the dirty bikes from the van and agreed to clean them up and inspect the damage, which allowed me to fly back to California with my husband. Two days later he sent us a detailed inventory of damages to the frame and components for each bike. Subsequently he meticulously packed up both bikes and parts at our request and shipped them back to us so that we could salvage all that was still usable. Since we are not local to Orem, it was exceptional to experience this level of consideration and service. All of you locals are very lucky to have such an amazing bike shop and team members like Preston Weeks to take care of your cycling needs.
