    Bikes for sale
    Joneice B.

Super quick and easy servicing of my bike this afternoon. I called to see if I needed an appointment for a flat tire. I was told that that was unnecessary and to just drop in. as soon as I arrived I wheeled my bike to the repair shop area. Sarah assessed the bike and started working on the rear tire right away. She ended up replacing the intertube and the intertube lining. The total cost was $17. At this shop they have a lot of accessories, helmets, baskets for your bike. They also had paddings for your bike and other parts to include security measures. Super neat looking messenger bikes and other mountain bikes and beach cruisers for sale at this shop. I was suggest you come take a look if you're in the market for a new bike. Very happy with my experience at this shop. Good to know they are right next to Pilot Brewing. So you could always drop your bike off and grab a brew or kobucha while they're working on your bike. I have another bike that needs a little touch up. I will definitely be bringing it back for Sarah to take a look.

    Happy front brake

I bought a bike from here about 2 years ago, the salesperson was very helpful without being pushy. When I broke the front brake recently I decided to bring it back to get fixed. I was able to bring it in the same day I called with no issues. The bike was ready a day earlier than estimated and the brake is working perfectly. The staff is all very friendly and knowledgeable. I was able to do a quick checkout at the door and they brought my bike outside. I will definitely be coming back for my next tune up.

Got stranded with a broken chain... .5 of a mile later these guys took care of me in 10 minutes. Thanks Guys... much appreciated.

I've needed the Bike Lane twice in the past two years, and most recently they went above and beyond. I went in to replace a broken chain tensioner. They followed COVID protocol, and I left my bike there for later pickup, I told them 4 hours I'll be back. Well my appointment ended early so I called them and said 2 hours, and they said it was already done. Perfect, what's more is that they also cleaned my chain and sprockets that were previously making noise to the point I thought about just asking for a tune. Not necessary, my bike is riding smooth and quiet like the first day I got her. Fair price, good service. Highly recommend.

This is the masterpiece John and Max assembled for me. Absolute perfection.

Very good service the wrenches there know what they're doing. It's right across from the Congress Theatre and it's always open.

I have to give a shout out to the village cycle center…read more I've been getting increasingly into cycling over the last couple years as it seems to be the only kind of fitness that doesn't absolutely wreck my body. And at the end of last season I decided it was time to upgrade the fx3 (which I also got from VCC during covid). Now for the last 8 months I've been browsing trek.com, specialized.com, reddit, facebook marketplace, etc., trying to get a sense of what I want. I'll say considering most bike manufacturers have a large range of bikes for each model, the marketing folks then don't do a particularly great job explaining the differences. Enter VCC. I stopped by because I wanted to know if I was 56 or 58cm, with a plan to go buy used in the approximate $2000 range. My man Tim spent maybe 2-3 hours with me walking me through the entire range of trek road bikes, teaching me the differences among the gearsets, alloys used in the frames, the brakes, etc. It really made me confident in terms of zeroing in on the bike that would fit my needs. And it just so happened they had a prior year model at a price that was close-ish to my original budget (lol). Walked home with a new Domane SL5, and now something like 6 weeks and 500+ miles later I'm a pretty happy camper.

Gears are back to shifting smoothly and they cleaned it well so it is like new. They even added new tape to the handlebars. Very happy with the service and will continue coming back! In response to the (mostly) positive reviews to this place, I trusted them to provide quality…read moreservice. My rating is due to bike service issues, not personnel. The workers were what you'd expect as far as being nice - but the mechanics are amateur at best. After my first disappointment with their routine "maintenance service", I wanted to give them another shot with my brakes. After all, I yearn to have a good relationship with a local bike shop. And sadly, it's a bigger disappointment than my first visit. I asked for them to bleed both brakes. I received a call saying they're "fine" and suggested NOT bleeding brakes; but the pads and rotors were caked in oil and other residue (I cleaned them both 3 days ago). But I figured you gotta trust the pros, right? Wrong. I figured they'd replace the pads, clean the rotors and call it a day. After all, I hadn't sanded the pads this past time and they are getting old (10 months). Nope, just VERY poorly sanded the existing brake pads, cleaned the rotor below my normal standard and was charged nearly $50. For that. To sand 4 little brake pads and (presumably) apply some rubbing alcohol to the rotors. $50. Look at the picture of the brake pads after they serviced them. Lmao. I could have done that for $2 at home since all I need is a little more rough sand paper. Ha. And no, it didn't help my brakes at all. They produced very little friction, we're extremely loud and there was even a clicking noise from my drivetrain on my ride home I haven't even diagnosed yet. I just had to write this review. Ha. Should have just told them to screw off and bleed the damn brakes. To me, it's simple. This is a classic big city bike shop that is money hungry. $50 for that is LAUGHABLE. I could take this to my hometown bike shop and for that money they'd do a bleed, drivetrain clean, fork pressurization, frame clean, etc. And after all that, I still need my brakes bled. They didn't do it. Ha. EDIT: Attached is the video of my new wheel sound! I think it's just the dork disk, but still.

The best local business I've used in at least a decade…read more I got a great hybrid bike at a great price, that I'm still loving a year-plus later. And everything like tune-ups, oiling, and flat repairs are free. (Ron fixed the flat by replacing the tube.) After a year, one of my gears started skipping a gear, which I pointed out when he replaced the inner tube, and Ron pointed out where the wiring had frayed some--probably whacked against something, he said--and he immediately stripped it all out, replaced it and fine-tuned it expertly. No charge. Had me test ride it around the block, to be sure. The 1st thing that impressed me, though, was when I came in looking in August, there were a ton of bikes, but I'm 6'1" and Ron said none of them were big enough for me, but he would get more in 3 days, so call back then. I really respect someone who WON'T sell me something, because it's not right. They're very close so I stopped by a few times, we talked more, and he had a big enough road bike, but he said what I'd been describing was a hybrid, and if that's what I wanted, I should wait. He went over the pros/cons of each, and I said definitely a hybrid. He said he got far fewer, so I checked in every week or two, and in November, 3 months from the start, he had a hybrid big enough. It was perfect, and I bought it. I wanted a more comfortable seat, so he had me pick the one I wanted from all the bikes and he swapped it in. I bet 99% of customers would have gone somewhere else long before, so he'd given up most of his chance at a sale, and could have easily sold me on a shorter bike being ok, but wouldn't do it. Ron is super-nice and great to talk to, and his wife Sonja is too, so it's always a pleasure. Love this place.
