As a San Diego local, I can attest that this shop has the best bikini selections in the city! I came in on a weekend looking to get some bikinis for my upcoming trip to Hawaii. There was a few other people in the store, but it wasn't overly crowded. Ashley was working that afternoon, and she immediately made it a point to greet me. I was telling her about my travel plans, and she was getting just as excited about them as I was! She immediately began helping me pick out bikinis, and I ended up buying two of her choices. Needless to say, I despise swimsuit shopping: finding a supportive cup size, the write style that flatters my boxed shape, and looking for a mature women employee that can empathize my situation. In my past experiences, with other bikini shops, with no fault of their own, these younger girls just do not help me in the way that I need. I was planning a trip to Hawaii and was desperate to find a suit. The Bikini Shoppe popped up as shop that carries cup sizes of 36G.; I had no idea. I called to confirm this informations and this lovely mature women answered inviting me to come by and to personally ask for her. I am upset that I can't remember her name. This lovely women gave me everything that I needed, and some. For the first time I actually felt sexy in a suit! She showed me how to wear the suits, which made such a difference in my body type, I even took her advice of trying on items I would NEVER try on and they looked amazing on me. This was the best experience I have ever had. She was about the customer, where others places I felt were about the sale $. It has been 3 months and the two suits I bought feel great and look great on me. I am grateful for this women. My mother and I were blessed, or should I say cursed, with big chests. The average woman might look at me and be jealous, but they don't know how difficult normal things can be for someone like me, for example, shopping for a swimsuit top that will fit me. Most of the other bikini shops in San Diego don't have tops for larger cup sizes. The Bikini Shoppe in Mission Beach always has a wide selection of bikinis, from all the popular brands, in large cup sizes that actually fit me. It was such a pain finding new swimsuits before I discovered this place on a whim when I was wondering around Mission a Beach last year. Not to mention the girls that work here are amazing at helping me pick out different tops and bottoms, mixing and matching, accessorizing, you name it. If I was going to review this swimsuit store based solely on convenience, I would give them 10 stars if that was a possible rating. It is literally 20 steps from the beach, not to mention right next to the Belmont Park parking lot where you can usually find a place to park unless it during the weekend over the summer months. I live in the La Jolla area but I will drive all the way down here just to shop for a new bikini because they have such a better selection of all the brands and different styles I love. I always see them on social media posting about going to different swimwear expos in Miami and Los Angeles, and you can tell they know what they are doing when picking out their inventory. They do tend to carry the more expensive brands ($60-$100 sets), but they don't charge more for them than the company sells them for.. big plus! Bought my first bikini here years ago, like literally my very first bikini. I'm talking like 5 or more years ago. I am now in the market for buying a new bikini. So the first place I thought of was this place that I found my absolutely favorite bikini ever in the world. Let's get one things straight: I am by no means skinny to be wearing 2 inch triangles in 4 spots of my body and call it a bikini. I'm sure I would just be naked with cloth patches. Anyways, after my recent stop into this store, their variety of sizes aren't really a "variety". They had MANY different styles but all for people with no boobs and no ass. I have an ass and I have big boobs. I need to be at least covered, if not supported. They had like 3 one-piece suits that were 2 smalls and 1 medium. Doesn't work for me. I have big boobs. It could be the fact that I came to the store at the end of summer, but com'n, WE LIVE IN SAN DIEGO. It's not winter until like Thanksgiving. (Some of us are still at the beach by New Years) If and when this bikini shop decides to have BIGGER triangles for those of us who actually have boobs, then maybe I'll change my review. I was shopping with my baby in tow. I was in need of a new bikini top. I found one here and it cost $58. I bought it at 10:50am. I went into another store just a block away (AZUL) and found the EXACT top for only $39. I went back to The Bikini Shoppe at 12:03pm and asked to return the top. I had obviously had not worn it yet. I only had it for just over an hour. It was still packaged in the bag exactly as the salesgirl had left it. She said I couldn't return it, but to come back in 30 minutes to talk to the manager. She had said the manager could prevent the charge from going through. I came back with my tired, cranky, baby and the manager (Erin) refused to accept the return. I used to manage several retail stores and know that it is simple to cancel a credit card transaction. If it is going to make a customer happy, it is the right thing to do, especially when customers are few and far between. Shop at AZUL instead. The manger/owner was not only incredibly helpful, but the store offers a great selection at reasonable prices. read more

I was in here last summer, and their selection of suits was amazing. While, they do have a NO RETURN policy, I understand completely why! These are bathing suits you are buying, and its for hygienic reasons. It's nice to know the suits I am buying have never been worn by anyone. Everything you could possibly need in a swim suit shop. Two full walls of suits. I found out a couple of things while trying suits on. 1. In Cali I am a large bottom and a medium top vs. Medium bottom and small top as I was when buying a suit 1 month ago in my home state 2. Suits are extremely tiny on the bottom and for an apparent big booty Judy that's not great!! 3. One could easily be discouraged and leave, but I found an adorable little number and am extremely Happy! The store has a wide range of clothes as well, very cute place! read more

They have a great selection here but, I was surprised by the service of my transaction. They offered me a discount of 15%. After reviewing my receipt, I did receive 15% off the bottoms but they overcharged me by $8 compaired to the tag price for the top! I went back to the store. She could not refund my credit card but agreed to give me 8$ cash. I explained she owed me more with the 15% discount at which point she explained she could only discount the lowest price peice. I told her she should be more transparent with her transactions. I am happy I received a discount but I couldn't help but feel the overcharge was done purposefully.
