I was starstruck so I didn't say anything. When you're a kid, it's so cool to see a celebrity in real life. The whole thing was so normal, no pretentious behavior or "do you know who I am" stuff. Chuck Scarborough was one of New York's greatest broadcast journalists - so consistently professional and reassuring. After over 50 years, he finally retired. Whoever hired him at NBC made the right call. NBC also produced the show Law and Order - great series especially the ones with Jerry Orbach as Detective Lennie Briscoe (one of the best actors in the history of crime television; he unfortunately passed in 2004). And Late Night too. Lots of great shows on NBC.

I'm so unhappy it's going off the air after 17 years and 2000 shows. I'm watching the summer reruns and hoping I can find it on UTUBE in the future. I would love to watch the old shows from years ago. Watching it I loved to vicariously visit the Troubadour and other music venues. I got to see unknown bands and learn a lot about the latest movies, actors, comedians, and creative talents in the entertainment industry. I'm going to miss Last Call a lot. I hope NBC or another network develops a show similar. We need another show like American Bandstand or Soul Train but with the additional range of interests that were provided on Last Call. This was the most horrible experience I have ever had at a comedy show. The comedians were nothing they represented on the streets that the sellers are selling. It is in a dingy dark basement and very dirty, yucky atmosphere. The staff is extremely unexperienced and unprofessional. We also definitely got roofied last night there I think to make us laugh. This was a very unbearable show. We left early and we're up all nite with heart palpitations and headaches. These are new and just starting comedians. Not funny in the slightest. I give them credit for providing a platform for Anthony Bourdain with "Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown," in which Anthony travels the world and explores various cuisines and cultures. With today's plethora of first-hand expression, statements, photos, videos such as X, blogs, YouTube, Facebook, and Truth Social, I absolutely never tune in to CNN.
