I bet you never guessed that you'd ever read a review on a telescope shop. Well, you can blame my undying fascination with the cosmos for dragging me into this amazing, one-of-a-kind shop. It's located by Wentworth Park in a somewhat dodgy location. Before I actually went into to The Binocular and Telescope Shop, I had been building anticipation from the numerous times I pass by its huge glass display. From the street, it is impossible not to notice. Where else do you see a store with a massive showcase of optical equipment?
This place is crazy amazing. They sell a gigantic range of telescopes, from small table telescopes for $100 to an intense $8,000 Televue. In fact, I was told that the latter is the fastest in the industry by far, due to its flat-field and f/5.2 speed. I would love to see how far into the universe I could see at nighttime.
As for binoculars, the variety is equally as overwhelming. I saw wonderfully crafted Parisian opera glasses that made me want to attend a show to put them to use. I wanted to buy a pair of Swarovski binoculars that had HD lenses, but I couldn't justify paying $2,400 for it. read more
