I am currently enrolled in the level four class and have really enjoyed the ability to stretch my improv muscles and play. The players are smart and funny, the instructors have a multitude of specialties, and the shows are very good quality. I particularly enjoy the third Saturday of the month with the Underground Throw down, Dog and Friend Dog, and Keith plus one. Also, they have drop in classes every Saturday afternoon so you can non-commitally dip your toe in the metaphoric improv pool.

Considering how much we paid for the space, I would've thought they would've offered us a compensation for the inconvenience. Or at least a written apology. We wrote them about these issues and we never heard back. very disappointed. Apart from the non-response, everyone had been very helpful to that point. Well since posting this review, Kat from the venue called and apologized for the piano not being tuned and refunded us some. We enjoy working with this company. Appreciate the follow through.

The moment you walk in, you're hit with an atmosphere so unique, there's truly nothing else like it. A couple of weeks ago, we saw Paul Simon there and checked out the VIP bar--a classy touch. The bartenders were on point, pouring a solid selection that beats most arena slop by a country mile. Not only is The Midland an architectural icon, it's laid out with fan-friendly genius. Growing up in KC, I've parked my behind in just about every seat over the years, and I swear there isn't a bad one in the house--whether you're front-and-center or chilling in the balcony, you'll feel like you've scored the hookup. First thing I'll note is that parking is a pain here. If they ever do renovations to the music hall (and they should), it would be wise to include an underground dedicated parking garage. We drove around for a while before settling on our old reliable (the Cosentino's garage) and walking over. Once you get in, it's old school KC art deco in every detail, which honestly is kind of nice and enjoyable to take in. On the pro side of things you've got charm, you've got plenty of seats in the house, and it's a nice place to take in a show. On the negative side the restrooms are small and outdated, the seats super sardined in by modern standards, and no really great set up for a bar or merch table. It all feels sort of ad-hoc since when this place was built it wasn't really built for those sort of modern conveniences. Overall it's a cool spot by historic standards, but by modern standards it's not my favorite venue in town.
