We would like to commend one of her caregivers, Shannon, for her attention to everything involving our moms personal care and needs. Shannon treats our mother as if she is her own mother. That speaks volumes about her as an employee. In addition, Linda, the activities coordinator, is an angel to your residents- she has a daily agenda of activities that keeps them engaged & smiling & full of life- lastly, the administrator, John, has greatly helped ease our anxieties and establish that all of our mom needs, concerns & day to day life routine is seamless and enjoyable. I think that when it comes to this point of everyone's life, this is an overlooked timeframe. It's the most important. It's the chapter of life that should be as enjoyable and loving as all the rest of your book. They said they provide all these services but they don't. They washed her bedding but didn't make the bed, they say they clean but that consisted of a mop and trash removed. They didn't clean refrigerator or sink or common area shared with another resident. I found her at the table in their dining room with everyone eating but her. I went and told them to give her some food. She has dementia and struggles. That's why she is there. Paying almost $3000 a month for my mom to be neglected by these people. I am bringing her home and I beg you if your loved one can't do everything for themselves don't leave them here. I can only cry at the care she didn't get at this facility.

Our dad was a resident until he passed away in April 2026. We visited most days and nights every week and saw kind care and peaceful settings most every visit. Holly, with housekeeping is so good with so many aspects of caring for the residents and families. We thank each caregiver who loved and cared for our dad! Barbara, Keenan, Tay, Savanna, Roxanne, April, Titiana, Destiny and if I've left off a name I apologize, were kind, patient and loving! We witnessed their compassion and care for our dad, every other resident! Dustin, the general manager was very helpful and considerate. Many of the front line staff are very nice and truly care about the residents. That's the good stuff. Sadly, there's a revolving door especially among leadership positions. They lack weekend staffing esp at a management level. Issues go unresolved, communication is poor and issues aren't communicated in timely way. EVERYTHING went downhill once there was a change in ownership in September 2024. Food quality, options and portions, which had all been excellent, went downhill immediately. "Corporate" is terrible and as Ellen reported above, they are very hard to track down and will do everything they can to avoid fixing an issue once you do track them down. They overcharged my parents $24,000 over the course of 1 year. I had to birddog the bill monthly, was told monthly by front line staff that they know the bill is wrong but waiting on corporate to fix it, I ultimately stopped using autopay due to incorrect charges, etc. I pursued this for 1 year, making them aware of the overcharges monthly before ultimately moving my parents elsewhere. I was finally refunded the $24,000 3 months after my parents moved out but only after I essentially made it my full time job and my life's passion to not let them get away with the blatant dishonesty and thievery. The utter hypocrisy of a company being in the senior care business while blatantly stealing from their residents is disgusting and unforgivable. I will tell everyone I know to steer clear of this facility as long as Sonida Senior Living owns it.

I placed my husband with Alzheimer's at the Addison West Ashley. The administration there is…read morebasically incompetent, there is no supervision on who enters, leaves the facility. There is supposed to be a manager on duty at all times, but on weekends the " manager" was often the chef (!) not visible in the facility, of course. Other "managers" were supposed to be there....where were they? I was looking for them, office was locked and closed. They had recommended that my husband be in assisted living, only later did I realize that is because they had an empty room to fill - he needed memory care, and he did not get the supervision or care he really needed. The administration over charged me twice, and when I complained they "explained" that invoices come from Corporate and they could not correct them (!!) When I asked for the number for Corporate I was told that he could not give it out! In fact, if you look on line, while there is a phone number listed for corporate, you get a recording and you never get a call back. When I removed my husband from that facility, the only contact the administration had is to try to convince me that I should move him to their memory care. Then two months after moving him, they sent me an incorrect bill in another man's name, overcharging again and threatening legal action. The care is sub-par, particularly the administration, and while there are staff that are caring and helpful, it is hard to make up for lack of competent leadership at the top.

The doctor said no, so the kept her. This year, they send a letter saying her rates will be raised OVER 3.000.00 a month! They say it's not about level of care, just cost of living. Cost of living is about 10%, a couple hundred dollars. NOT 3,000.00 a month. Where does a senior on a limited income get an extra 36,00.00 a year! Seems to me they are trying to get rid of her, knowing she cannot pay this. HELP!!!
