I was very impressed with our sales woman, Andi. She was always helpful and available when I needed to discuss our order. The reason why I'm giving a five star, is because of the results in the end and for our sales rep. We ran into a few bumps with customer service in the office, and some of the install people and the one shutter being damaged. However, I did bring this to the attention of my sales rep and she took it to the owner. The owner called and listened to my issues. He was very helpful and offered to replace a shutter that had been damaged at no cost to me. The people that came for the last install were very helpful and had great customer service! Things can go wrong in this business, But what you do with that when it happens is what really counts. I was really impressed with their sales rep and the desire to make a customer happy. I would recommend the blind man for shutters. I absolutely love our Norman hidden tilt blinds! I get compliments on them all the time. They complement our new home and are like a showpiece. I almost went with the wood, but I'm glad I went with the Norman blinds. I would definitely recommend the Norman blinds. It does take two months to get these in because they are coming from China, but they are worth the wait! They are the number 1 selling brand in shutters. These shutters with the hidden tilt close very tight so they can make a room very dark for our movie room. They are very energy efficient too because of how tight they close. When you you open them you have a very clear view without a tilt in view and I got the largest size possible on the louvers to make a bigger opening when they are open. I have wanted plantation shutters for a long time now so I wanted the best at a good price. I first went to Home Depot and set up a appointment for an estimate. They go through a company called Rockwood. Then my husband was told to call the Blind Man. So I set up an estimate with the as well. Ed from the Blind Man came out first and was so helpful and the samples were beautiful. The price was great as well. I told him that I was still getting bids and that I would let him know. He said that was a good Idea and what I should look for so I would know if the shutters would hold up through time. The next day the Rockwood rep came to my home with her samples and her quote was $850 higher then the Blind Man. I thought I should be honest and tell her. She got really upset and started to bash the Blind Man company. She told me they made cheap shutters and we would have to replace them within two to three years. I told her I was glad she told me and that my husband work with wood and I would tell him. after she left I called my husband who went over to the Blind Man store in Lindon to see how thing were made. He was so impressed with the workmanship he ordered them right there. within 3 days Mike was at my house measuring my windows (who I found out owned the company) and 3 weeks later 2 very professional and friendly young men came to my home and installed my beautiful shutters. I really appreciate the efforts of this company. I have a large window that is too high for us to reach, and it lets in too much sunlight in the afternoon. I asked them for recommendations and they sold me a blind with a motor to lift and lower it with a remote. Their installer was super nice. It's been five years now and that blind is still functioning as good as the day they installed it. I also since accidently broke some of blinds with my rigorous cleaning method and have brought them to Blind Man for repair. They were able to find a match for the slot I broke and repair it perfectly with in a few days. My broken blinds look like new. I LOVE my roller shades. I actually met with the sales rep, Jake a year ago. He was SO helpful and understanding and PATIENT! He wasn't pushy, intact he made this process FUN! It took me a while to decide what I wanted, once I did it took about 5 weeks to get my roller shades installed and it was SO WORTH THE WAIT! Im excited to order more! Jake made this process fun, he was patient with me and helped me hold up the samples in each room more then 5 times so I could decide. I am SO tickled with the product, company annnnnd the sales guy. We love our new shutters!!! Contacted 3 different companies for quotes to replace the shutters in our master bath. I was impressed with the salesman and the products he showed me, so I ordered from Sean with The Blindman. From the start these guys/gals did everything right. The Blindman put 2.5" blinds throughout my townhome and I am in love. I've had blinds in the past that have broken pretty quick, but these blinds have been in for about a year and we have yet to have any problems! I also love the idea that they have a factory really close that I can go to if I have any repairs that need to be done. The sales rep and installers were friendly and efficient. It had been years since I touched or did anything with my blinds. The dust had sat there for so long that it began to be settled in and required washing. The service man for Blindman's came in and did an excellent job. It definitely wasn't the fastest service, but it was of the highest quality. He took his time and made sure he didn't miss anything. Sad to see such negative reviews. We had a great experience for our home in Spanish Fork. Their quote was $400 cheaper than Home Depot including installation for the same quality blinds. Installation was fast! Customer service on the phone was awesome. The logo on this business is HORRIFIC! I guess they figured that blind people do not need blinds & can't see the blind man logo. On top of that, apparently this biz has been operating for many years and NOBODY has even noticed how offensive it is. I love this place! The showroom in Lindon is absolutely great, with an awesome display of all their blinds. They carry shutters, fabric, verticals, rollers, and Roman style blinds. Terrible customer service. The worst communicators of any company I've ever worked with. I had to call them to check on my order twice. They were not going to even call me! Also, the installer left tons of screws all over my floors and had a rotten bed side manner. I won't be going back to them or referring any of my friends to them. read more
