This is a neat no bones about it shop right off the side of the road off 13 on the Eastern Shore…read more Staff were welcoming and matter of fact. The inside is filled with cool handmade and nautical-themed items. Some look like they're locally handmade while some look like they were probably purchased, sourced, or brought in. I saw some driftwood mermaids, some funny signs, a lamp filled with sea glass, tons of shells for purchase as a group or individually and various other items. What really catches your eye from the street is the large hewn wood slabs you can make a table or some furniture or decor items from. Most of them are pretty reasonable with 3ft by 5ft or so ones costing between $30-50 depending on the width.

Oh my goodness.... this place is heaven for a person that loves all things Beach, and antiques…read more What attracted me first was all the old glass bottles and windows outside. I refinish furniture and windows. So I looked at a few and decided that I just have to come back. The pricing was perfect. I want to saw $10-$15 a window. Totally doable! The man outside was so nice. He greeted us and let us roam and take in the sights. There were also beautiful slabs of wood outsideZ perfect for anyone who does projects, especially if it involves epoxy. We then headed inside. A lot of trinkets and craft like items. There were some antique pieces of furniture as well. Just a little bit of everything. If you are heading towards VA BEACH or going in the direction to Cape Charles from VA BEACH you have to hit this place up. At least get out and walk around to stretch if it's not your cup of tea.

To get there there is a back road to turn into their front parking lot. In the spring/Summer they…read morehave more inventory. Their prices are cheaper than McDonald's garden center in Virginia Beach. This past summer they were selling some pots that were also sold at Mcdonald Garden Center. Danny (I think that was his name, horrible memory today) was so kind. He held a nice conversation during our time shopping. He does offer some consignment options for local artists. I love that he supports the locals in that area. Not only do they have pottery, but lots of decorative items and a section that I'll call the "yard sale." Do not let the exterior scare you. Everything is great.

I would not say this is the worst Pottery Place, but it's close. Ok, it's pretty bad. The prices…read moreare high and the quality is low. I was going to pick up a new bird bath and even the small ones were $80 and I don't think they were concrete or fired pottery. It looked more like some type of resin. When you tapped on the stuff it sounded hollow. The brochure makes this place sound awesome, but it's more awe there's some stuff but not so great. The place is big, with the quasi pottery outside. Inside is the fireworks and other touristy things to purchase. The brochure also says antique lamps and frames. I did not see anything even close to that in the store. If you want to waste your time, stop here, other wise go next door to the other big building full of antiques and treasures. It's called Terrapin Station Antiques and Collectibles. Nice things and nice people to help you in the store.

Talk about a throw back store. Entering through these doors is like entering a time warp into the…read moredays of old time hardware establishments that just don't exist anymore. The town of Cape Charles is a charmer and I love that this stores has been really untouched for decades. But that also presents some with some practical issues for customers too! They also have Watson's Realty out of the location, but I really could not tell you what type of real estate business is conducted. Parking is back-in angle parking off Mason street and usually not an issue in locating a space. The sidewalks were clean and trash cans around around and were within their boundaries. Watson's does a nice job of pulling things out for a sidewalk display to draw customers into shop. Once entering you will feel the time warp of dark paneling, red and white checkered board tile that is completely warn down in some spots, high ceilings, peg board displays, old and very worn wooden display cases. I am sure that I missed something, but you get the idea. You will also see tons of merchandise packed in the large store that spans two rooms. It's organized I suppose, but that is a matter of opinion of what your definition of organization may be. I n my opinion it's cluttered. A few men were around in the center area setting down. At no time did I see anyone on the floor prepared to answer questions. On a few occasions I was very close to the gentlemen and browsing and was never asked if I needed help. This is a one star deduction in my book. I saw signs for fishing and hunting licenses that may be of interest to many in the area. They have inventory of both guns, rods and tackle for your fishing and hunting needs. There claim to fame may just be the bicycle department. Large inventory of lots of parts and they also sale new bikes as well. I just love those bike with the huge tires on them that looks like that Batmobile on two wheels. Although I think the store is a charmer and looks like something out of a1950's movie set that does not necessarily warrant high marks. Service is key into why I am pegging them at a 3. Organization although cluttered to me would not be to others who are regular shoppers, or the clerks who could provide assistance. Stop in and check them out, they will have what you want I bet.
