Talk about the extra sweat you put out when there is no AC to help cool you down during activity. This 4th of July weekend I happened to be with my brother and his wife/my sister-in-law was taking advantage of their outdoor morning Kickboxing bootcamp. She knows I love a good workout and don't shy away, even when on vacation to get one in. They had the extra space so for a small cost I was able to lock in the spot and attend as a visiting guest of hers. The young lady that instructed the class [daughter of owners] was super energetic and engaged throughout the entire workout showing and motivating all to put out what they could and more. If I lived close to this location, I would totally be making it my home gym. I could only image how great all on the inside is, but if the workouts are as good/better than the one I had outdoors, I'd be hooked for sure. Lake Hopatcong is totally no nonsense. Old school weights and equipment. A bit snug if it is a little crowded but gets the job done. No real locker room and no showers. Rockaway is the largest of the three. A bit newer equipment and more spread out. This is the location I visit the most as I go after work, never feel cramped in there. No formal locker room, but there are lockers on the main floor. There are 3 changing rooms and 1 shower room... I can't imagine that being a bit hectic for the before work crowd. Stanhope is the newest location. a bit smalller than Rockaway, but a nice layout. All newer equipment, clean, nice layout. Only been there a handful of times. This location has a formal locker room, with separate changing room and 3 shower stalls in the mens locker room. Cant speak for the womens locker room. Overall, Stanhope is a very nice spot. My only gripe, and it is with all 3 locations are the treadmills. Lake Hopatcong, can barely get them to operate. Rockaway, 1 is broken, 1 has a deck that isn't level and is broken, the rest are ok. Stanhope has the newest ones, but of the 8, 5 had slipping belts that make it dangerous to walk on, let alone try to run or jog, one is super noisy. I get it, these gyms are geared more towards lifting weights and body building, not oblivious to that. A day of maintenance on the treadmills would get 5 stars. Aside from the treadmills, I really like all 3 locations.

After being bored of the same thing I got to a point where I was so miserable and out of shape, eating bad and unmotivated. I was so unhappy with myself I didn't know what to do. A friend told me to come to a class and try it out. I was instantly hooked and signed up that day. Since starting in February I have made such progress. I used to not even be able to run down the stairs, even though I could lift heavy weights. I wasn't really in shape like I thought. Now I can run a mile, sprint 400+ meters and I have so much more cardio endurance then I've ever in my life. Every day is different and challenges something new inside you. I was so scared to start something new, something out of my comfort zone. I walked into class and realized it was just a bunch of people like me, all ages , all sizes and even women 9 months pregnant! The coaches are all amazing and help you through everything. They will scale your workout to your best availability's but also see your potential and give you that push you don't have on your own. There are always events going on to keep you motivated and give you a goal. The owner Chris and his wife Christi are amazing! They always help with nutrition and guidance, they are so well educated. Inside this warehouse it is so much more then a gym. This is a home and it comes with a family. The people I get to see every day, work side by side with and even in events out side of the gym have become A family. Everyone is so welcoming and everyone is cheering you on! No one wants to see you fail and no one will ever let you. This place has changed my life mentality and physically, inside the gym and in every aspect of my life. Fitness 121 is a friendly, upscale (but far from stuffy) facility where everybody knows your name. The attitude there is so much more about how you feel than how you look. They teach you exercises that prepare you for life, not just to make your pecs and biceps look better (although, that's an added bonus!). Shoveling snow never felt better. I didn't even throw my back out this year thanks to their training techniques. The clientelle there is mostly ranging in age from low 40's to low 60's, but since some of the trainers are former camp counselors, I have actually had my 8 year old training there as well. It's been a great confidence booster! i can't say enough about the friendly atmosphere, the trainers are always smiling, and even the ones who don't work with you go out of their way to get to know at least who you are. I started there 2 years ago weight 240 lbs, and now, at 41 years old, I'm now in the best shape of my life thanks to them.
