History

Established in 1995.

The Bodymind Centre began as a heart felt vision that Erin had to help people with their bodies and minds through bodywork and meditation. After completing her Structural Integration training in Boulder, Colorado Erin returned to Thunder Bay to open The Bodymind Centre in January 1995. She started with a team that included practitioners of Structural Integration, Reiki, Healing Touch, Acupuncture, Chiropractic care, reflexology, massage therapy and meditation. In 2003 Erin moved the team to their current location expanding from their original 650 sq feet to 6500 sq feet. She recruited yoga and pilates instructors and the dream grew bigger. Now in its 25th year The Bodymind Centre continues to expand offering incredible classes with fantastic instructors, international retreats, workshops and and a special Vagal Yoga project to help people heal.

Meet the Business Owner: Erin M.

After returning from her Structural Integration Training in Boulder, Colorado in 1995, Erin opened The Bodymind Centre in Thunder Bay, Ontario. Over the last 30 years she has travelled the world learning techniques from masters to help people integrate the body and mind. Her classes offer a strong anatomical base for educational understanding as to why we do the things we do. Her 25 years of bodywork knowledge comes across in her classes and in her ability to customize postures and programs for students. Her passions are vagal and kundalini yoga as well as energy work for their healing benefits. Erin began her formal meditation practice with zen in 1990, Vipassina in 1991, and Tibetan Buddhism in 1992. She has attended countless retreats in India, USA, China, Nepal, Mexico and Canada, including a special Kalachakra Retreat with His Holiness the 14th Dali Lama in 2003.
