The entrance road washed out in 2022 and the boiling river location is not accessible by car and off limits. I suggest going to Yellowstone Hot Springs, about 7 miles outside the north entrance. read more

This ranked as my favorite thing to do in Yellowstone after a long day of hiking. There is a slight sense of adventure involved. If you have water shoes of any sort it would help, the walk into the cold river before you hit the warmer mix requires stepping over angled rocks and smooth stones. One guy had brought a glass bottle in the river and was promptly asked by another visitor to get rid of it for obvious reasons. Oh and this isn't a weird type of hot springs scene you hear about elsewhere. Just good people appreciating geothermal activity! read more

Took the grandkids down here on vacation a few years ago. Seems like there's a lot of people on TRIP ADVISOR whining about how you can get spinal meningitis and whatnot from the springs. Probably the same kind of ninnys who'd put a wild baby buffalo in their car! People today. Here's a hot tip: Don't drink the water! If your kids can't be trusted to not chug any hot water they come across, I can't help ya. Maybe pass this one by. Went here late season and let me tell you, getting in was a shock to the old family jewels, so to speak! Pretty frigid. But oh boy that hot water's nice. Not gonna dock any stars here, great natural experience in Yellow Stone. read more

My daughter and I spent 1 1/2 hours soaking and relaxing in the boiling river swimming area (mammoth hot springs regions). This was among my favorite experiences in Yellowstone! Expect delays due to road construction. read more

Go here!!!!! This was the most amazing experience of my life! I suggest bringing water shoes as its a bit difficult to walk on the rocks and make sure you don't get carried away by the current because it's really really hard to get back. But yeah this place is absolutely incredible. I wanted to stay forever!! read more
