Found the name very interesting so we stepped in. I am glad we decided to check it out. The ambiance is great. Instead of bar stools, swings are hanging down for you to sit on and be in front of the bar! How cool is that? As a sports fan you won't be disappointed. There are televisions on, every where so you don't miss out on your game. Shrines are up for different (American) football teams or players. Walls are covered by interesting license plates. One of our favorite places to hang out in the malecon and it's 90% based on the bartenders and their amazing customer service. And really now....who doesn't love swings at the bar?! We stopped in the Boo Bar for a shopping break. This place is very relaxing and the servers are outstanding. They happened to have a mariachi band playing. The views are excellent. We order chips, queso and guacamole. Drinks included margaritas on the rocks. All very good. You can't go wrong stopping here for drinks. read more

Next to the beach and part of the nightlife at Rocky Point, we stopped by to enjoy drinks and food here. The bar is a second story location overlooking the water and has hanging swings at the bar. Very nice little place. The problem started when we moved spots within the place. Go figure! One bartender was visibly irritated that we did that and copped an attitude when the amount of the tab was questioned. "if you don't like it, then don't buy anything" was his reply as he slapped his hand on the receipt on the table! Heaven forbid you actually put thought into how you spend your money! Next came our food. Someone forgot to put in the order in the kitchen and we ended up waiting over an hour to hear what had happened. So in a party of seven people, only two were served dinner. Nice!!! The manager came over and insisted mine and my friend's food would be out in 5 minutes. We are both vegan and had previously asked about what and how the food is cooked. We were assured there was no animal products in the rice or the beans & the veggies in the tacos would not be cooked in butter. And so after close to an hour and a half of sitting in this place (consuming alcoholic drinks that were meh), we get our food. My friend decided to ask an entirely different waiter what and how the food was cooked a second time and... the food is in cooked in lard and the veggies fried in butter! Ha!!! We walked out for good. Spend your time & money at another joint; which there are PLENTY of around RP. One that considers you have choices and that, in fact, you actually searched for them. One that doesn't take your money and your time for granted. An amazing disappointing place with too many unpleasant surprises for one night. read more

We have been coming here for years. Very funny place. Same employees for years. You can bring your kids here if you need to and a pretty decent place to go watch a football game. Not much selection for food which I was disappointed about we ordered the sliders which weren't very good, onion rings which were nice for sharing and had a good flavor. Expensive drinks and bad service. Not for me. We were here recently on a pretty quiet weekend in Rocky Point. Now, weekends in the Old Port in the last few years have been quiet, but I guess I didn't know they were this quiet. First, the swings at the bar - I like the novelty. In practice, it is a disaster waiting to happen. So we ordered shots. I was completely surprised that in Rocky Point, we are paying $6/shot for Herradura silver tequila. I know that the days of the $1 Cuervo shot are gone (and nor am I looking for a Cuervo shot) but yikes. So anyway, they have limited beer offerings, and 4 Mexican beers was $22. So again, pretty pricey. Mind you, there are like 10 people in the bar. Bartender, not paying attention to anyone.. girl at the end of the bar looks drunk, and suffice to say is. Went to the bathroom after her, smells like fresh puke - and yet she is ordering and being served another shot when she gets back. (This is about 8pm.) The redeeming quality of this place really is that it is on the water. Other than that.. I guess it is a place to drop in, have a drink and move on to the next place. read more

Boo Bar has always been a fun place, but in the last couple of years, we hadn't been going because it was a small space, too crowded, too stuffy, too loud (we're old), although the service was always excellent, good drinks and decent Sonoran-American food. That said, with their recent expansion, they really hit it out of the park! They really put some money and thought into what seems to be a 1500-2000 square foot expansion space out over the water. The service is still consistently excellent, the food and drink are still good and the fun times continue, but now there's more space! It's still a bit of a climb, but it's worth it. read more
