    oysters & aguachile

The only place near us that had air conditioning during our visit to Malecon on what had to be the hottest day out there. We intended to shop & sight see but it was so damn hot & humid, when the promoter lured us in with A/C. Glad we did go in because we had fun here and we finally werent feeling ripped off. The Micheladas, the oysters & aguachiles were delicious! Honestly the rest of the food we tried was just ok ( unfortunately alot of the cooked items were over cooked.) but the atmosphere and the low pricing made up for it. Our server was awesome and made it a memorable experience so thank you!

Awesome friendly atmosphere, the stairs are steep to get in the bar but worth the effort. Nice place to have a few drinks and converse with friends. I do recommend the piña colada for a smooth delicious cocktail. We ordered a side of guacamole with chips, the guacamole was flavorless. Not worth ordering. Overall very friendly service.

This review is pretty much about the Free Breakfast with $5 drink purchase. We didn't order $5 drinks (it was 9:00 AM! for god's sake), only coffee and iced tea. We stopped in because Lulu's Cafe (a place we'd heard about from the locals) down the street was closed (it was Wednesday), we NEEDED caffeine, and one of their street guys (our waiter, it turned out) beckoned. So we hiked up 3 flights of stairs, although we didn't need to, for our caffeine and eventually breakfast. The free breakfasts we ate were better than others we've had. I ordered a chorizo omelette, and it was pretty good, but partner's chorizo and eggs were better. I know this because I happily finished them off. The entrees came with potatoes (delicious), tortillas (excellent again) and refried beans (really meh). $10. Not bad. From this floor, the people watching on the street has GOT to be stellar when the Malecon is jumping. For us, we did a short snooze. Good start to the day!

Just as any other place in Puerto Peñasco functions, this restaurant has people on the street hollering at passersby trying to get them inside and upstairs. The actual place and furnishings are dated, cheap plastic, maybe less clean than one would like. While the ocean view from the top terrace is spectacular, we learned soon the service was slow, discombobulated and poor at best. When the (3) servers did show up they were pleasant, and the food was very well presented and tasted great. Fish, chicken, and shrimp tacos came with a plate to sort of make your own. They were good. The butterfly shrimp wrapped in bacon and stuffed with ham was great, even the bit of plated cucumbers, tomatoes, and cooked greens were well cooked and actually seasoned! Will be trying more places in the area but at least the food here is good. Food and server personality gets 5, service and place gets 2.

Best tacos in town.. Always consistent and best value for your money compared to some of the other touristy restaurants in rocky point who skimp on the quality of their food! For $16 we got 5 tacos, 2 margaritas, 2 tequila shots, and a beer. Plus the view from the very top deck is amazing!

My burrito ! Was too good .

Me and my fiancé stopped by for breakfast ! My burrito was bomb & my fiancé also liked his chorizo burrito but said it was a big too Oily . Mine was made of carne Asada with beans and cheese . Their lemonade didn't taste fresh however but it was alright . Overall it was pretty good !

Beautiful view, beautiful drink, fun time!

This place has great ocean views, located on the malecon…read more I've been here numerous times with different groups and it's a hit or miss with drinks, food and service. The only consistent thing is the view The food is all seafood/ mariscos .. I usually go with the ceviche tostadas or cocktail because it's the most basic and common food for the area. It's always fresh and the flavor is good. I've had the fried fish and it's also pretty consistently good, ask for lots of limes The drinks are sometimes all sugar with barely any alcohol. The bacon wrapped shrimp is usually overdone, rice is often dry or overcooked, the fries sometimes look and taste like they've been under a heat lamp. On this last visit I was told the chipotle sauce for the bacon wrapped shrimp was too sweet, almost like cough syrup. I passed on the opportunity to try it. With all that said .. I'll likely be back because sometimes you get lucky and it's all great!!

Okay. Honest review because I tend to judge when I read a white woman named "Shelly" telling me…read morethat the pescado wasn't fresh. My instant thought is "you don't have taste" I gotta say this Mexican seafood restaurant is either on or it's off . Both times I've been it's been phenomenal tasting. It's in my opinion - which I feel like can be pretty considering on the money considering that I Mexican seafood quite often (2-5 times a month) . First time - went off without a hitch . I remember starting the night there getting ceviche, oysters, fish tacos, a molcajete and finishing off with many drinks. Service was lacking though - we were the only table in the restaurant since we went to puerto on a deep sea fishing trip and they're wasn't any urgency to fill water (compared to normal dining in the states) and the place is about the size of a living room . Gripe aside i rate first experience 7.1/10 Second time was way better than the first, food some how was better, service was better, ordered almost the same spread on summer break of 25 . The server at Mariscos El Malecon brought out "garnish" with the food that we ordered (lettuce, tomato, onion) . It was an awesome gesture and super kind, however I forgot that they most likely used their own water to wash it and I got sicker than a dog the rest of the trip. That was my fault. But also this is the specific example of the thing I want the person preparing my food to think about because about the only goal for as an American when eating in puerto peñasco is to find a decent/substantive meal & avoiding 5 days of your stomach inverting . Final verdict 3.5/5 stars Because this place has such good food and the ambiance is perfect (quaint but lively , scenic overview of the water, homey) - I will roll the dice once more but probably not a wise decision. I'll lyk in 2027!

We've been here before and i've always liked their food and service but today that all changed…read moreapparently either there's new owner's new Cook or new management or something, but it took over an hour to get our food and when it came out, it wasn't hot about 40 minutes into our wait . The waiter came out and said I'm sorry it'll be another 20 minutes the thing that's surprising is we were the only customers, I can't understand why it would take an hour to get my food. My grandson who ate here once before and thought their hamburger was the best in the world wanted to come back here because the patty he had last time was thick and handmade and very flavorful this burger Was what looked like out of a package you get at Costco with the frozen patties it had no flavor was overcooked, and the bacon was raw. The french fries were overcooked had no flavor and were terrible. My shrimp tacos were cold. They used to come out with some sauce and beans and rice and you had three big tortillas with a lot of shrimp. These were tiny little tortillas with some minimum shrimp their prices are jacked up really high now and then something we found out that not only this place is doing but a lot of others in Rocky Pointe is they're giving you a menu with prices in dollars and then when you get your bill, they convert into pesos at a higher peso rate so you're paying another 10% more than actual price. When are the businesses in this town going to understand they're driving the tourist away. It's getting more expensive to dine out in Rocky Pointe than it is in the United States. The food was terrible today. The waiter tried to make lots of excuses. He was a very nice guy, but this place will be lucky to stay in business if they keep up these practices and poor Service
