Stopped in while in Prescott Valley today to check out the store because I love used book stores. This place is large for a book store and looks to have a ton of books, I just felt the pricing was a bit high and they sadly didn't have anything I wanted. The lady working was very friendly and helped direct me to the areas with my books. I did notice a large amount of the store had the overhead lights turned off and had just twinkle lights or nothing on. I heard the worker tell another patron it was to keep the place cooler. I can appreciate that but it made it difficult to see the books. She did offer to turn on lights if any of us needed, but I felt that would be a hassle so I just dealt. There are books EVERYWHERE... on the floor in piles and lots of other places. They had a few scattered chairs if you wanted to sit but they were surrounded by boxes and piles of books. Maybe I stopped in during inventory? If not the haphazard nature of the store was a bit much. I was not in the mood to go digging. They do have a friendly Cat wandering around that I got to meet and pet. read more

Wonderful place, overflowing with books. It is owned and operated by some cats and their pet human. Moonshadow, sometimes called Moonie, is a big softie who wants to know everyone. He is friendly and helpful. His human is friendly and helpful too. I sometimes go just to visit him. If they do not have the book you want they will order it for you. You can trade books for bookstore credit. It's a great place. read more

Absolutely love The Book Haven. It's amazing how many books Leigh has curated for Prescott Valley, maximizing the space she offers as many books as a much bigger store. My daughter and her friend walked out with exactly what they were looking for, and, as an added bonus, getting to know Moon Shadow was awesome. I've been wanting to check out this place for awhile and it's pretty great. I found a lot of books (way more than I expected - including a "rare" one) and couldn't be happier. Pricing was fair for the paperbacks and they had a lot to look at. Definitely one of those great, spend all day digging through books kinda of store. I will say, and I won't knock a star off, but pricing did seem a bit much on some children's books. What I've seen for a buck or two (kids book series) were $5 here. Like I said, don't knock 'em for it because everything else was great! read more

I have had the pleasure of shopping here twice while in town. The owner, a veteran, is very friendly and helpful. This is the kind of bookstore that a book lover could spend a whole day enjoying! There's places to sit and quite a large selection of books. There's a great selection of Star Trek books, amongst many other things. There are even two cats! The prices are very reasonable. I look forward to visiting Prescott again just to buy some more books at this gem of a store. read more

It's easy to tell that more or less; they have something for everyone. They have the newest releases on their shelves, much like in mainstream bookstores. As you wander the stacks an explore the shelves of books. You may find copies that were being published in 1906 and smells of spices and almonds. The book haven has those rare finds, although if you'd prefer the scent of fresh paper and new ink instead. Then you can find a newer copy or order a brand new one. With such different genres and age groups, you'd think prices would have a massive window of set options. The Book Havens prices are more or less influenced by the type of production style of the book. From my standpoint, it's easy to be captivated by their dazzling display of books. I love the fact that we have a nice local bookstore, run by a veteran, in Prescott Valley. She has a ton of books, not to crowded, to choose from, and I never know what treasures I am going to take home. The store does take credit cards for a $0.25 charge. read more
