Our waitress Andrea was great, but the kitchen was terrible. Many mishaps with our orders and a long wait.

All they care about is the money. We paid $4150 to have my daughters wedding and reception here and…read morethey opted to keep our deposit to cover the cleaning of table clothes, remove scuffs from the floors, clean stains from the carpet and clean up there grounds not to mention some other charges. Basically from there assessment we paid to clean there venue with our deposit for normal usage which one would think is covered in the price. we cleaned up after, took out all the trash. the staff member said we did more than anyone else had after a wedding. My advice to anyone wanting to use the venue is to do a good assessment ahead of time . when you rent a turn key event center the deposit covers damages to said property not to clean so called stain carpet, clean the table clothes they provided and scuff mark on floors. when you have food there will be stains and when you have dancing you will have scuffs. I have never been so disappointed in my life. Greedy is what it is !This is the assessment and there email justification. Final Assessment -FLOORS -DANCE FLOOR - Center room stains where tables were/several white stains($50) Standard vacuuming did not remove these soiled areas. -WOODEN FLOORING/WALKWAYS has black scuff marks ($200) Scuffs did not come up with standard mopping. Additional buffing had to be hired in order remove these. -WALLS - White slat wall was torn in The Southern Room's off limits lounge. ($125) -TABLES/LINENS - 10 Table linens were stained ($10ea @ $100) -SOUTHERN ROOM DECORATIONS - Unaccounted for - 12 glass votive cups ($13) and 2 wide burlap strips $15) were stained from food. -EXTERIOR ENTRANCE/PARKING LOT - Many cigarette butts, a beer can, beer caps, and trash had to be removed from the front entrance and parking on asphalt. ($200 See page 2 of contract under decorations) Also "Wedding" yard sign borrowed to put at the end of road was not returned. -DJ CENTER - Security System behind CURTAIN with sign "Do Not Remove" was tampered with and pulled down. DJ was advised prior to event not to remove section of curtain. Below is some of their response when we replied to the assessment. You be the judge. just dont expect your deposit back! To answer your email I would like to say that normal cleaning and having to call a professional carpet cleaner are two completely different things. Some vacuuming and sweeping are one thing but having stains that would not come out are two different things. We also never let people in to our lounge area and there is a sign that says no entrance, I can assure you there was no slat wall damage before the event. We have pictures of the outside with numerous cigarette butts, trash, and a beer can that required above and beyond clean up. We provide cigarette butt cans at the exit and multiple trash cans throughout the facility. Table linens that are soiled beyond a Clorox cleaning and have to be trashed need to be replaced, this is not considered normal eating stains. Lastly we have held a number of events here and never experienced the black rubber scuff marks around the wood floor area (not dance area that is carpet) before, as well as the 12 votive cups missing. We don't ever want anyone to finish their event on bad terms and definitely harbor no feelings like that to any of our customers. We appreciate you trusting us with your wedding and am glad the day went well! In the end whoever rents the facility unfortunately is responsible for everyone that attends and on occasion people in attendance don't realize what it takes to not only plan and organize the event but also maintain the Southern Room so that the next weeks function is just as clean an neat when they enter. Again I hate that you feel this way and appreciate you greatly, I truly hope that you can . My response is, If you can live with it, I can! You want be getting glowing remarks from 250 people that was there and that can attest that this is wrong and the place was not left as you describe.

Let me first start off by saying that the venue gives all the feels. It is absolutely…read morebreathtakingly beautiful. That will be the only reason why I am giving this 2 stars. The process has been a nightmare. From the time we first view the venue, the owner was overly pushy and overbearing with her opinions. We gave her our wedding date and she wrote it in pencil on her calendar... supposedly. Of course, nothing is official until you put down your deposit. We paid our deposit and per the agreement, the remaining balance was due 1 month prior to the event. She called me time and time again giving me high anxiety. My wedding date was June 20, 2026, which meant the balance wasn't due until May 20, 2026. She called me at least 3 or 4 times before Christmas. She called with the same story "Hey you're wedding date is June 26 right?" Knowing it wasn't. I kept telling her, "No, its June 20th. When I paid the deposit, we both pointed out it wasn't due until May 20th." After Christmas, she called maybe 5 or more times with the same thing, giving me anxiety and making me feel that there were other people looking at the venue for my date. The deposit was supposed to hold our spot. We paid the deposit by the date. 3 days before our event, she told us to bring our wine and beer to cool in the cooler. She later called and asked for us to put the stuff on the bar. My husband put it in the cooler, to make it one less thing anyone had to do. The following morning while running errands, she calls my phone screaming in my ear that she told us to put the beer and wine on the bar and that now she has to unload it and load it again. That was not what I was hoping to hear but it is what it is. We kept it moving. We were told we could use our own bartenders but she later said we had to use hers and it was an additional $400 we hadn't expected to pay. Fast-forward to our wedding rehearsal day. We had to rent more chairs and the company delivering the chairs said they would deliver between 11 AM - 12 PM. She called me during my nail appointment to complain that she hadn't heard from the chair rental company... It was only 11:07 AM and it was raining. She then decided to start texting me, all while knowing I'm running around trying to get last minute things done. Again, I shook it off. I had several people in our wedding party including our decorator coming from out of state. They had all let me know that they were running behind due to traffic. She owner kept making little smart comments and turned off the fans while we were setting up the venue. She then said she was going to go ahead home because it was after 9 PM. Keep in mind, we have the venue from 12 PM day before and after the event. She popped back up at the rehearsal and continued to make comments about "You have a mess on your hands." Every time I looked up, she was either watching us like a hawk or riding around in her golf cart. Going back to the agreement, it was my understanding that we also had the Carriage House as part of the package. Since I live in Greenville, it would only make sense to stay the night at the Carriage House. So I had already talked with her about. She tells me the day of that I cannot stay in there until my wedding night. I didn't let that bother me, I just kept it moving and one of my bridesmaids got me a hotel in Greenville. The day of the wedding, she was very nice and welcoming. Texted and asked her where the box was that the cake came in... her text "Tossed it. Sorry." She eventually told me the next day where it was, it had been sitting with flies all over the box... The day after the wedding, we decided to run up the road around 9 AM to grab breakfast from a local restaurant in town. She texted me at 9:35, "I have guests coming in today. About what time will you be out?" She then called and said "Check out is at 11." We put our food up and went back to get our things. We also went ahead and cleaned up the venue so that we could be done with the stress once and for all. Now, her staff, especially her granddaughters were very friendly and welcoming. My daughter later told me that the night of the rehearsal, the owner kept saying to my wedding party and decorators, "Y'all need to go home." Hearing this after the fact was surely a blessing in disguise. I wouldn't recommend this location simply because of the way we were handled.

As the saying goes, "A person may not remember what you said, but they will always remember how you…read moremade them feel." Our experience with using this beautiful facility was uneasy and frustrating. From the treatment by Ms. Mary Beth from when myself and other guests first arrived on the property, to the constant pop-ups and discussions during the event, to the unexpected rental rate increase at the end of the event.... it was unsettling to say the least. What should have been a beautiful and enjoyable evening, ultimately ended in a frustrating back and forth debate regarding undocumented payment increases, and inappropriate conversations with guests and the client's hired contractors, and unwarranted actions displayed by Ms. Mary Beth. Sadly, at the end evening, I informed Ms. Mary Beth of how dissatisfied I was with her behavior. Unfortunately, she didn't understand how myself and others in the party could have been so upset. In her eyes she felt she was only helping. Those who live in and around this area may be accustomed to the climate of the area, thus they may not have been as affected by the behavior displayed. However, those who don't understand the culture (which were quite a few guests), or who are no longer privy to the southern norms, will quickly pick up on what's going on. It was clear that Ms. Mary Beth was uncomfortable with our presence. I can't tell you what to do, but I will tell you to proceed with caution if you desire to rent this venue.
