It can be so hard to order a bouquet from a florist you don't know in a city you don't live in (as I did); I often submit to dated looking, cookie cutter, FTD bouquets that are nothing more than sufficient. She gave us lists of preferred vendors to choose from, she gave us good questions to ask them, she advised us when we asked, but ultimately let us make our own choices. She was 100% willing to look at any other vendors not on her lists, as well. She made sure we were well informed and comfortable with our choices, but that they were our own, not influenced elsewhere. I found her very helpful with small things especially closer to the wedding. Tons of little questions cropped up and Pam was always on it, she reached out to our venue for us and got us answers so we could focus on other things. The day of the wedding she was amazing. As the bride, I had to worry about nothing. She understood what I asked for and made sure it was all set up--and it was! No issues, no mistakes, no problems, everything ran completely smoothly, largely thanks to Pam's presence and help. Cost-wise, very affordable. I pictured a planner to be MUCH more expensive than Pam is (especially when you're dealing with wedding prices, ho boy!) She has a simple down payment and contract, and final payment due closer to day of. All payments and paperwork were handled well and expediently. In the end, she often says "it's whatever you want!" and she truly works to make that happen.

However, even almost a year later, the pain and anguish remain, and I cannot in good conscience stay silent. Bethany failed to fulfill critical aspects of our agreement, and her lack of professionalism day of our wedding caused irreparable damage to my wedding day. She was absent during major moments, did not oversee vendors as promised, failed to manage rentals and ceremony details, and neglected to ensure our gifts were secured--resulting in missing/stolen items. Communication with me was abruptly cut off after the wedding, leaving me without any closure or accountability. This was not only a breach of trust but also a breach of contract, and the mental distress from her mishandling of our wedding continues to this day, learning more and more about the day as friends recount their time with us. Something that truly hurts given all the time and energy we put into planning in 2 years. Out of 28 vendors, only three--including Something Pretty Events--failed us. The difference was clear: true professionals take responsibility, communicate transparently, and act with integrity. In the end, Bethany failed us in the moment we needed her the most - our wedding day. For future couples, and things I have learned: Do your research. Get 2-3 solid references for every vendor. Ask direct questions about vendor partnerships and kickbacks. Get everything in writing. Honest reviews are unfortunately few and rare, as many couples who go through a poor experience either worry about their public image in a world of "well it was good enough" or the toxic positivity associated with moving on and getting over things. In my case, I simply wanted to move on from the mental turmoil that I experienced watching important moments of my wedding day get destroyed and the quite literally 6 months of working to feel ok afterwards to no repair. I believe this closes at sunset but I've been out here at sunrise and it's been pretty quiet until 9:30 am or so. There are a few walking trails and the docks/front of the boathouse (the cement areas) do flood during heavy rain. Definitely a Glastonbury community symbol... :) Lots of kids fishing on the dock/by the river. Playground on the premises & then the Glastonbury parks and rec manages the fields behind the clubhouse. I've been here when there was a wedding and it seemed intimate and romantic. I'm a big fan of this spot!
