The hotel also finally sent me a folio which the employees I spoke to previously had refused to send, and I saw that I had been charged $35/day for "valet" parking. Summary below. ---------------- Stayed there in early May 2026 for work, and this hotel added a false $70 charge as "parking" fee, even though I didn't have a car (traveled to Dartmouth by bus) and had never used the parking service. They also refused to send me a receipt for that amount. The first time I called to inquire about the charge, the person who answered the call told me it was a deposit-like charge for incidentals which would be reversed. A few days later, I saw that I had been fully charged $70. It was only after I sent in a written inquiry that someone called back to say that it was for "parking". This is when I asked my bank to intervene. The bank solved the issue in a day (whereas I had been trying on my own for a week). Lesson learned: if you can't solve it immediately, ask your bank for help. Their website says, "We offer valet service with on-site, heated, and secure parking for $35/day." They surely must have known that I hadn't used the service. This charge could easily have been missed. Please be careful. There are other reviewers of the hotel on other platforms who also cited false charges, so it seems that mine was not an isolated issue. Big ups to Chase for quickly acting and disputing the charges. My bus tickets to Dartmouth were very helpful, a reminder that it's important to keep all documents. Editing June 2026: I just learned upon talking to the institution which paid for my hotel stay that Six South St Hotel attempted to charge their card $70 (as well as my personal card). I don't know the exact timeline, so cannot say if this was simultaneous, but we both agreed that we will try to avoid this hotel in the future. Both cards have now been correctly credited back, but only after I asked my bank to intervene. However the kindness the people of this place show you, and the fact that it is pet friendly and when they say pet friendly your pets can roam around freely. Our bathroom did not even have a door knob on the door but when you were treated like family and your pets are treasured you don't care. Beautiful fireplace in the lobby and a fun restaurant attached it was just an overall amazing time. If the appearance of a hotel matters to you you won't like it here. When we got here, they told me they only had me for Saturday! I was NOT a happy camper! Apparently despite they took my money months ago and sent a booking confirmation of the correct date, someone changed in the system a week before my travel date and removed my reservation for Friday night. Luckily they were able to find another room to accommodate us, but annoyed that we literally will have to check out the next day and move into our booked room. They can't even move our stuff for us because they are so understaffed, so we literally had to checkout in the morning, put our stuff back in our car and check-in at 4 pm. Ugh, rant over! Ok, so about the rooms (since I had the pleasure of staying in 2 separate units). Nothing flashy or spectacular about this place but they do have all of the essentials and the rooms are clean and well-kept. The beds are surprisingly comfortable but not so much of the pullout couch. The queen suit 1 BR had a full kitchen, 1 Bathroom (access in the bedroom which is poorly designed since you have to walk through the bedroom to get in), 1 queen bed in the bedroom, and a pullout couch in the living room. For the other suit (we stayed at room 214/216), it's a 1 BR with 2 Bath, much bigger but only has a kitchenette. This was much better setup and had space in the entryway for ski/snowboard equipment. The unit seem to had new carpeting and has a nice view of the mountain and stream. Amenities-wise, they have a outdoor heated pool which opened 3-9 pm in the winter, a laundry room ($2 quarters for 1 load - same building as the office), a library room with books, limited DVD, coffee & tea and small workout gym (downstairs from office). Location-wise, it's at the end of Rt 4, intersection with Rt 100. There's a BBQ restaurant and bar across the street as well as a gas station. For skiers/boarders, it's about 15 min drive to Killington Ramshead lodge. If you have loaded pass, you can take the Skyship gondola to the mountain much closer (5 min drive) to Bear Mountain. Overall we are happy with this place despite the reservation mixed-up. Timeshare resorts are slim picking for ski mountains so will definitely stay here again.

No matter the setting, the a/c never quite got the room cool; it was a bit warm during the overnight, even after removing the unnecessary blanket from the bed. A few minor housekeeping issues in the room were quickly taken of after a quick call to reception, though turndown wasn't offered until the final night (didn't realize it was even available -- be sure to ask if that's important to you)! The slippers were nice and plush, and bathrobes (didn't use, see temperature note, above) were also available. There was a convenient bedside iHome wireless charger/digital alarm clock; unfortunately, it failed to charge my phone one night. Coffee was available in the lobby hallway every morning, and in the afternoon/evening, cookies!. A Lavazza pod coffeemaker was in the room along with a couple of tea bags as well, but no kettle. The onsite Pine Restaurant was quite popular. Note that folks eat early here; the restaurant was quiet by 8:30 pm (maybe also because it was midweek in summer). The bar area was quite spacious, though, and outdoor seating was available. Easy walk through town, to the Co-op (there was a small drawer refrigerator in the room), for retail shopping, and visiting the Dartmouth College campus (don't miss the Hood Art Museum, open Wed-Sat). Some restaurants in Hanover were also closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, and mobile phone service was sparse in town. The free Advance Transit bus service made for easy visits to the King Arthur Bakery & Cafe and for a talk at the Lebanon Opera House.

(big plus for us being able to cook breakfast & dinner--makes u kinda homey esp after many days away from home & most ppl like the kitchen access). It is not in those typical touristy town so if that's what you're looking for, this isn't for you. There is a "general store" across the street, which we didn't get a chance to check out as we had extra food we brought over. It's a very quiet town. There are probably 5 rooms or so, a little sitting area, a long table in the "dining area" and so you would be able to meet some fellow travelers while you eat your meal. In the mornings travellers congregate in the morning to make their coffee, tea, and breakfast so you will have ppl to chat with. They have rooms w/ shared communal bathrooms (sold out) so we got the rooms w/ bathrooms. There are 31 chickens in the backyard and some ducks and so you get to have free range self-cooked eggs in the mornings. The room was a decent size with a queen sized bed. It got to be a cold in early Oct when we were there. No heat but you could ask for extra blankets. Rooms have 2 windows which is nice as I like to get some fresh air and air out the room during my stay.
