As i exited, the old black lady sitting at the check out desk was rude, abrasive, and yelled me saying "don't get excited," (when i was confused by one of her questions). Piedmont Hospital is not a teaching hospital for breast cancer surgery. There was no written consent for a resident to practice in a major surgery! Dr. John Symbus (plastic surgeon) had no patient/doctor relationship. Therefore, it was an illegal act by him. Stay away from this clinic and do not trust all the positive notes because they are written by a paid company! I hope this practice of allowing residents to practice on vulnerable patients causing injury and death because of lack of experience. Piedmont Hospital is not a teaching hospital and Atlanta Breast Care is a privately owned and operated by Barber family.

She was friendly, and had a wide smile on her face, that made me feel welcome, and wanted, from minute one. Dr. Desai was incredibly down to earth, and incredibly knowledgeable. I went in thinking that I had had a heart attack, because two primary physicians sait that their EKG results said it might be so, and I left thinking that I might live forever. They treated me professionally and compassionately. My concern is with an organization that appears to prioritize revenue over patients. I came to the emergency room because I believed I was experiencing a medical emergency--not because I had a choice. I left not only grateful for the medical care, but shocked by the charges that followed. As an insured, working American who pays taxes and health insurance premiums, I found it difficult to understand how basic items and routine services could be billed at prices that seem disconnected from reality. Patients don't comparison-shop during emergencies, and they shouldn't be financially punished for seeking care. The standard response is always, "That's just how healthcare works." But those prices are set by people. Leadership chooses the policies that determine what patients are charged. The medical staff earned my appreciation. The billing practices earned this review. I spoke to Dr. Williams and he gave me a good idea of what the radiation therapy would entail. I also spoke to a urological surgeon who gave me an overview of what that would entail. Based on those conversations, and on some research I did on my own, I decided to have Dr. Williams do the radiation therapy. He thoroughly explained the entire process, and during the actual treatment we met on a regular basis so he could asses what, if any side effects I was experiencing as a result of the therapy. In all our meetings he was down-to-earth, engaging, and thoroughly professional. He made me feel at ease during my treatment, and that is extremely important for anyone trying to beat cancer.
