The Brick is cool if you just need to stop by and grab something to eat. The food was good... solid, no complaints there. It's the kind of place where you can pull up, eat, and keep it moving. Now, would I plan a date night here? Probably not. Girls' night? Also no. It's not really giving that vibe. The restaurant feels a bit outdated and more low-key than lively. But I will say this: the service was excellent. Friendly, attentive, and on top of things. So if you're just hungry and want something quick and good? It works. The atmosphere is awesome but the foods are suck! I ordered a bowl of creamy tomatoes soup and it tastes like water + salt + a few piece of dice tomatoes. Yucky. We also have the jerky chicken pasta which tastes a bit better. The environmentally pizza is kinda old and oily, seems like it was yesterday's pizza. Even it sounds vegan but I found a piece of ham in there, what a jerk. So, the good side is customer service is epic and very friendly. If u are hungry and wanna eat some good food, please don't come here; but if u wanna have fun just for a beer and some snack then it is your place. Am not happy w the foods cuz I was super hungry. 2nd time here & didn't disappoint. Located in downtown Milly. Plenty of street parking & an easy walk if down the way a little. CUTE little town & apparently it gets crazy around 11 pm when the GCSU students take over! Good for them- go have fun!!! The Brick has a good menu, see attached. I hade the veggie wrap last time & it was delicious!! This visit I got the Jerk Pasta Alfredo & it was delicious & the spice was definitely present! I've lost countless evenings to the Brick. Half of them by choice, half by blackout. But today I actually decided to dine instead of spiral. Waited 10 minutes max, posted up at the bar, and locked in on my pregame to oblivion. Started with a blackberry Moscow Mule. That drink didn't just hit, it signed a lease on my taste buds and paid rent early. Then came Lauren. REQUEST LAUREN. If you're not asking for Lauren, you're not doing The Brick right. She's locked in, dialed up, and the GOAT of service. But then...plot twist. I ran into an op. Dude posted up two stools down, but he didn't kill my vibe. I'm unshakable. As a longtime customer of "The Brick" I was saddened by the poor experience my wife and I had today. Service was poor, took quite a while to get a table, the pizza was undercooked and improperly prepared. Sevice to checkout was slow. We were given a 50% credit for below standard food. That does not excuse mangement for the poor service and bad food. When we were leaving I mentioned to my wife $5.99 pizza at Dominoes would have been much more satifying. Stopped in after a recent graduation and all were starved! While we numbered 8 in our party, we were seated at a large communal table in the rear of the large dining room. Service was prompt, efficient and fast...(did I mention that we were starving?) The drinks came out fast and the food fast and hot. Being a college sports bar, it wasn't a gastronomic festival but for the genre, was far better than we were expecting. Meh. It wasn't terrible, but it wasn't great. Started off with an appetizer, chips with salsa and queso. The chips were pretty great, but the salsa had zero heat to it, milder than mild, and the queso was served barely warm. It was almost just a solid block of cheese when it reached us. They did warm it better upon request, but by the time the entrees arrived. ... and they weren't BAD, but everything was on it's way to cold, and my boneless wings were the size of chickfila nuggets. Barely anything at all there. The kids chicken tender baskets we ordered from the kids menu had more chicken and fries for under $7, and this adult meal priced closer to $12 barely had anything to offer. The only thing that remotely impressed me was some breadsticks we ordered for one of the kids. And it was like $8 for 3 of them. Pass. read more

Using KNG Delivery, I ordered a Lasagna dinner (for tonight, Sunday), and a Spaghetti & Meatballs (for tomorrow) dinner. Now, before I begin the review, y'all need a briefing on my background. As followers already know, I'm half Italian (dad's side), and have had Lasagna in only 2 restaurants, a workplace cafeteria, and Home Ec class in 1975. Plus, a couple of "homemade"versions, and 2 Frozen versions. And, of course, my mama's (RIP mom). Well, when my parents were alive, my mom, who loved cooking, But had no idea on how to fix Italian. So, my dad taught her. And, she improved it. What was amusing to see, when company asked my dad, Whose cooking do you like better, your wife's? Or, your mama's? Without hesitation, he would reply, My wife's! Now, this didn't sit well with his mom (who always disked mom for "stealing her son"). But, since there were thousands of miles between Italy, and Florida, it wasn't a big deal. So, growing up, and eating the World's best lasagna, I've have had great difficulty in finding lasagna that is even half as good as mom's. And, because I was so sensitive to it, I never ordered it in a restaurant. Though, back in 1979, I was at a Italian restaurant in Tampa, FL (had eaten there many times), and my waitress suggested the lasagna. I told her about mom's, and she said, Don't worry. If you don't like it, you can send it back. Well, I took one bite, and nearly gagged. Needless to say, I sent it back. Then, in 1983, when mom and I went to visit my dad's family in Italy, we found that dad had been raving about mom's lasagna. So, using ingredients she wasn't familar with, and a stove and oven that was far different than what she was use too, she went ahead, and fixed a Lasagna dinner for 8 people. Well, they loved it so much, they asked mom for the recipe. And, on my return visits in 1989, and 1991, they were still talking about it! To give you an idea of the ingredients, and costs, a 9x13 dish contains 3 different cheeses, the sauce takes a full day to make. Next day, assemble + first bake. 3rd day, top with mozzarella + final bake. The costs, $80.00+. Then, in 1992, I was having lunch with my co-workers in the company cafeteria. And, I saw Vito R (born in Italy) eating mass produced lasagna. :-o I said, Vito! You're a traitor to your heritage! Of course, he was a bit confused by my outburst. And, I elaborated, Eating cafeteria lasagna. Shame on you! He replied, But, Tony, it really is good. Here, try a bite. So, with a lot of skepticism, I took my fork, and took a small bite. And, I actually liked it. :-o And, I even threw my brown bag lunch out, and got in line to buy a plate. Then, when I got back to the office, I called mom to tell her. Now, for the review on this lasagna. Knowing it wouldn't be anything like mom's, I was prepared. While the serving size is generous (get a 2nd dinner out of it), the taste was OK. Not the worst that I've had. But, for sure, have had better (Stoffer's for instance). For a homemade Maranara sauce, it's lacking in flavor (personally, I think the jared Berilla's or Bertolli's is better). And, the meat is more like miniature meatballs vs a chili grind ground beef. And, with the burnt edge of the small piece of garlic toast (see picture), I can't give better than 2 Stars. At least, and unlike the pizza (ended up in the trash), the leftovers are in the freezer. To be honest, I'm glad I like their Calzone. As, so far, it's the only really good thing that I've had here. The Spaghetti review will be posted later. read more

Had the warm Spinach Artichoke dip, it was excellent and nice and warm as advertised. We both had the Philly Cheese Steak sandwiches they were outstanding. Nice and hot, temperature wise. Good sandwich plenty of meat on it. We both loved them. My wife had the side of pasta salad and enjoyed it very much. Do not miss this place when you are in town worth the trip for sure. 5 stars for sure, I would bet this place is hopping at night and on the weekends for sure. This was our third time visiting this establishment over the past 5 years. As before, the staff was friendly and attentive and the food was great. I was so looking forward to the food I forgot photos before I started eating . The appetizer of mozzarella sticks was better than most we've had. (You get 6 but only 4 in picture...remember I was hungry!). I then ordered the Montezuma. Our waiter recommended I substitute sour dough for the normal hoagie and he was spot on. I loved the sandwich. ( yes, I took a bite before photo again) I also subbed my fries for a side salad. The salad was big enough as a meal itself. My wife had the brick chick sandwich and fries and said it was very, very good; possibly one of the best chicken sandwiches she's ever had. 5 stars and we'll come again when we can. read more

The Brick is one of the classics of Milledgeville! There's not many places in Milledgeville that are locally owned, but I feel this one has been around for ages. There's usually tons of free 2 hour parking in downtown Milledgeville which can be harder during the school year due to GCSU. I ordered the Chicken Parm Grinder ($8.25) and two drinks tonight (Butterbeer and one of the HP House Drinks?). The Chicken Parm Grinder wasn't HOT when I got it and not even really warm. Kinda just slightly above room temp. I didn't find it really packing any flavor either and tasted like sauce on chicken. Of course I don't expect to have crunchy chicken while it's smothered in marinara sauce, but the chicken was a bit mushier than I expected to be like it was sitting before getting to me. Solid 2-3/5 stars. The Buffalo Brick Chick is what I normally get, but wanted to branch out. My friend ordered the Jerk Chicken Club and thought it wasn't good and it wasn't bad, but very meh. The Harry Potter House drink I ordered was great and pretty strong! One thing to note is 3 of us at the table ordered this drink and 2 of them came out in margarita glasses while one of these drinks came in a martina glass. As I received my drink before my friend I already took a few sips, but he downed his drink first. I was curious and added my drink (no ice included) into his martini glass with his remaining ice and it was filled to the brim. He definitely got less drink than my friends and I, but charged the same price. All in all, I paid $30 including tax and tip for dinner and 2 drinks which I think is pretty good since I've spent the past few years paying Atlanta prices. The food quality here was meh and really a 3/5 overall ranking, but it's one of the more lively places in town. read more

Whenever I am in Milledgeville, the brick is my go to place for pizza, calzones and rolls. It can get a bit busy, but that's to be expected with such good food. The craft beer selection is awesome, the bar area is pretty large, and there is tons of seating that can handle big groups. I've been here about five times having pizza, and calzones. And every single one of them have been delicious. My personal favorite currently is the buffalo chicken calzone. But everything I've had is scrumptious. We ate here on a Saturday afternoon right after Georgia College started. It was packed with both students and locals. The restaurant is a rather large set up occupying two store fronts in downtown. The bar looked nice with a full set up. We started the meal with spinach artichoke appetizer. It was served a perfect heated temperature with plenty of chips. If easily fed the four of us. Orders at the table was the spinach salad, wings, philly cheesesteak, and the grilled chicken pesto. The spinach salad was loaded with bacon and a great poppyseed dressing. The Philly cheesesteak was good with a lot of onions and peppers. My wife said her wings were fried a little too long but said they had the right amount of spice. To celebrate the end to my off week from the gym I went to the Brick for the Roman pizza. I can easily say it is the best pizza I have ever had. I ordered online and the process went perfect. They even followed my special instructions of double cut and well done. Always a great time going to the Brick. Gave it four stars because 20 bucks for a 14inch pizza is a little steep yet I can't say it was not worth it. Seriously, this pizza is epic especially if you have tobasco on hand. read more
