We were visiting my daughter who goes to GCSU. I had read good things about this restaurant and was excited to try it. We were seated immediately and that was nice. Our server came to the table and when she was getting our drink orders, I asked about the draft choices. She literally didn't say a word and handed me a notepad. I was like really?! We watched another table have what seemed to be a very attentive and great server while we barely saw ours. Ours was inattentive and someone else brought our food, refills and anything else we needed. Our main course food was room temp at best so I'd say she'd left it sitting there, I'm not sure. There was a ball dropped somewhere. I've waited many tables and made many drinks in my lifetime...she def needed more training. As for the restaurant...we would maybe try it again, but there are many other choices out there. On a high note...the ultimate cheese sticks with the pepperoni appetizer...absolutely delicious. I've been to The Brick three times now and the food has been spot on every single time. I haven't taken advantage of their daily drink specials yet...maybe next time. The place is pretty spacious and there are plenty of TVs for sports fans. I'll be back to try more of their menu but these are what I've tried so far: - Creamy tomato soup: definitely creamy and delicious, the waitress recommended this above all other soups - Sweet potato fries with caramel sauce: I love me some sweet potato fries and the caramel sauce made it even sweeter. I would grab some ketchup also. - Spinach salad: the right way to eat a salad loaded with bacon pieces - Savory salad: healthy and delicious! The sweet vidalia onion dressing was perfect on it! - Environmentally correct pizza: great thin crust veggie pizza, huge portion probably 1/5 of a large pizza - Pizza of the south: fried chicken and honey mustard on a pizza?! It's amazing! I put more veggies on it to make myself feel less guilty. - Ultimate stuffed bread sticks: HOLY MOLY amazing. They give you enough to feed a small village...approximately 12 sticks. Ate there last night,08/10, and Pizza was very good . Problem was I ordered medium 14" and it looked small, so I measured it and it was only 10"! I questioned waiter and he said it was a medium and left it at that. The table next to us ordered 36 wings and only got 24! Waitress apologized and adjusted check, but this is not right! If you do the math, a 10" pizza has 78 sq. Inches and a 14" has 154 sq. Inches, so you are only getting half of what you ordered! read more

Had a party of 7 and no one cared for their food except the chicken Parmesan. Service was very good. Fried pickles were so hard, grilled chicken in the Alfredo was dried out like it was pre cooked and set aside, noddles where gummy and dry, No one was impressed. Wings were so tiny and couldn't tell the difference between 2 flavors we got, pepperoni rolls were all bread and black on the top, no meat or cheese inside really at all. The "old" Brick use to be so cool! It was located where Buffington's is now and we helped build it back then. Over the many years I watched The Brick grow with the greatest success and move to it's current location. After moving into it's current location it became more upscale (taken with a grain of salt) and their prices went up to reflect the move. That was ok. When I'm in town visiting these days I still like to visit The Brick to grab a brew or two, but it just doesn't have the same feeling in my heart as it once did. The kids don't seem to party as hard as we once did when we were college students, and now when I enter I am the old man walking into the bar. Granted I can still out party these young scallywags still today. The food at The Brick is typical of what you will find in a restaurant that is more of a bar, bar food. The pizza is good, the wings are ok, and the beer is always cold and flowing. As I type this I am looking forward to visiting The Brick again this upcoming Deep Roots Festival. Family night, what more fun on a Friday night than Pizza. This is one of my fondness memories growing up and going to Pizza Hut as a kid. We'll times have changed . #1 place to get pizza is The Brick in Milledgeville.Server was exceptional Ryan Cox. Atmosphere is cool laid back fun. With the playing cards still on the ceiling from college years with mark magican. I had a slice of pizza that could amount to two slices BLT. ( amazing) my 7 year old had pepperoni slice. The same size . He loved it. Hubby mighty meat sliced with season fries and lots of ranch . He was full as a tick. We had to go straight home . He was full and sleepy. The wait was not bad. So after three visits, I have tried two other joints and this is the best food and beverage combo place in town. There were other places that were cool and maybe even had better beer choices but this is best combo. Now on to the food, the philly cheese steak is the best i personally have ever eaten. Worst restaurant experience ever! My girlfriend and I were down in Milledgeville, GA this weekend visiting her daughter at college, as it was Parents and Family Day. The city was also having it's "Deep Roots Festival" that day. We spent some time at the festival, enjoying ourselves. Around 5:15pm or so, we stopped in to one of the restaurants we were considering for dinner to ask what the wait was, and we were told "Well, I may be able to seat you around 9pm"!!! Ok, time to punt. I pull out the handy-dandy-never-leave-home-without-it smart phone (HTC Evo if anybody is wondering) and do some searching. The Brick looks interesting, had some pretty good reviews and was just around the corner. We walk in, go up to the hostess station and ask about the wait. We're told 30 or 40 minutes, so we decide to stay and we're handed our pager. The estimate was pretty accurate, and about 30 or 35 minutes later, we were seated. And promptly forgotten. After being seated, no one came over to say "Hi, I'll be your waiter/waitress", take drink orders or anything. After about 15 minutes of waiting, I get up, go to the hostess station (where she thought I had just walked in!) and said "I know you're mobbed and all that, but it's been 15 minutes and nobody has even come over. That got somebody over to take drink orders, which arrived fairly quickly, but we were promptly forgotten again. Waiting another 15 minutes, I return to the hostess station (where again, she thought I had just walked in) and told her that we're just about ready to walk out the door because we still haven't seen our waiter/waitress. About 5 minutes later, a different person comes over and takes our food order. We order an appetizer along with our entrees and the wait begins.... About 20 minutes after placing our food orders, a THIRD waitress brings out our appetizer, which was pretty decent, but nothing great. We were asked if we wanted drink refills at that time, and got them. And then we waited. And waited. And waited. 90 minutes after placing our food order, the entrees show up. And they're COLD! I promptly get up, return once again to the hostess station and tell her that we need to see the manager right away. Less than 5 minutes after making that request, our waitress finally comes over to the table and asks "Is everything all right?". We both very vehemently say "NO!" in unison, very forcefully. We then proceeded to tell her the time line, ending with "Feel my food. Go ahead, I'm not going to eat it." at which point she felt it and said "Let me get the manager" to which I replied "That's who I asked for in the first place!" The comes over, apologizes, explains that it's no excuse, but it's their busiest night of the year. She offers to have our order remade right away OR to comp our dinner and we can leave. No offer to comp the entrees and re-do them. So we decide to leave, we've had it at this point. Without a doubt, the worst experience I've ever had at a restaurant, and I've been eating at restaurants for 30+ years. read more

The Brick is hands down my favorite place to eat. The food is excellent, the employees are very friendly, and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Whether I want to just have lunch with a coworker or come in for Tuesday's "wing-nite" after work and watch a Braves game, I can expect to have a good time. The Brick has all sorts of items on the menu like pastas, pizzas, calzones, sandwiches, salads, wings, and much more. There isn't anything that I've eaten that I haven't loved. Visiting the bar for a few drinks after hours is also very fun. I would highly recommend the Brick to anyone for a nice, entertaining meal. read more

Ah, The Brick. A typical "college town" restaurant in the heart of downtown Milledgeville. Having been to the Brick numerous times, I'd have to call it one of my favorite places to eat in Milledgeville. I recommend the Buffalo Brick Chick, but if you aren't into the buffaloed part, get the Sorta Blue. The food is rather tasty at the Brick. Happy Hour specials are pretty good too. The beer selection is probably the best in town. The service , however, could be better. For the most part it's pretty good, but there have been times, I or a group of my friends have found ourselves waiting on the server to get back to us. Typically, this happens only once out of seven times, so don't let it slow you down. I recommend the Brick to all family or friends who come in to Milledgeville. read more

If you like hair in your food (not 1-But 2) eat here! More on that later... After searching on yelp for highly rated restaurants in Milledgeville, I decided to dine there with my 2 teenage children. Service was slow although this was not my complaint at first. Ordered one of their signature dishes. I can't remember the name but it has a star by it on the menu. It was the creamy pasta with "jerk chicken", bacon, and peas. My one child ordered the wings, my other child who is a vegetarian ordered the veggie wrap. So, when my dish came it had an eyelash on the dish. (I wore mascara that day so I know the eyelash wasn't mine)but anything is possible so I passed it off, because I understand somethings are just not unavoidable. The sauce for my pasta dish taste great, but inform definitely NOT JERK chicken. That was very disappointing bc that's what sold me on the dish. It was more like frozen "grilled" chicken. Very artificial. The Wings were ok. Our waiter sold us on their signature sauce "Whittier" flavor. It was supposed to be a mix of their mild sauce , lemon pepper, and honey mustard. It just taste like mild sauce. What's a hotwing without a good sauce?? The worse was yet to come... My other child after enjoying her wrap for the first 2 minutes bit into her sand which with spinach and cheese and there was a very long hair that went on for days. I called the waiter over just for her to see that it was literally coming out of the wrap and sandwiches in between the spinach and cheese. You could literally swing the bite of sandwich from the hair. That's how stuck it was. Totally grossed out. They blamed their lack of staff and busy-ness for the lack of care in the kitchen. With 2 hairs in my food, I was stunned by the amount of people that I saw continuously coming in to have dinner. I guess they are popular because of the full bar. Who knows... but if this is one of the best in Milledgeville, then that says a lot. read more

This review is written upon my second visit to The Brick. While I am not a regular (due mostly to logistics) I can see myself coming here on a relatively regular basis if I lived in the area. Both times I've been to The Brick I have ordered the the Savory Salad which consists of romain lettuce, mandarin oranges, baked chicken breast, toasted almonds, with sweet vadalia onion dressing. I haven't gone wrong with it yet. Upon our first visit my husband ordered the chicken tenders with seasoned fries and he seemed to enjoy it judging by his empty plate. This time we both ordered the Savory Salad and, again, judging by his empty bowl he was not disappointed. The atmosphere is pub style with the seating divided into two rooms. One room has seating at the bar and also has tables in the middle and booths along the walls. The other room also has tables in the middle with booths along the walls. During both of our visits we have been promptly greeted and seated, with our server coming to take our drink and food order not long after. If we're in the area again we would definitely stop. I've also recommended it to friends who may find themselves in the area sometime. read more

I have been a big fan since they opened, and have many fond memories and experiences. We always have to bring our visiting out of town friends to visit. It is a Milledgeville standard. They have many amazing items on the menu, but in my humble opinion, you're missing out if you don't order the stuffed mushrooms and calzones. Ambiance is casual, right in the middle of our college downtown scene. The service is usually great, typically friendly sweet college kids. You're usually looking at a bit of a wait for your food, because it is made fresh to order, but the wait is worth it. If college is in session, weekend nights will be crowded and possibly a tad rowdy. read more

I'm giving them 3 stars because I have good memories of this place from when I went to GCSU. I took my wife and son back to milledgeville after years of being away and we decided to eat at the Brick for old times sake and the best I can describe it is school cafeteria food. We each had the buffalo chicken sandwich. It was literally a pre-frozen chicken finger (the same ones that came on our son's chicken finger plate) wrapped in a pita bread with some lettuce. Service was about as minimal as could be. The only saving grace was that the fries were fresh. We were both very disappointed and frankly felt pretty gross afterwards, probably wont ever be coming back. read more

If you come late at night, they occasionally turn up the music REALLY loud (im sure to get you to leave), as in... cant talk to the person next to you and this is even to loud for a club but we aren't closing for two hours loud. They do have a pretty decent beer selection, and lets face it... there are that many places good for that in M-Ville. I'll keep going back, but I'll never expect anything special. read more
