Started dbt therapy and the sessions received are not at all like what they should be. They are of no help at all. Looking into switching where I receive health care. Haven't been able to receive my meds for months now which is why I switched here--the one appointment I really needed this month to get my meds again; has been cancelled and rescheduled to the next month. I first came to the James S Peter's VA hospital in the 70 when I broke my ankle in 3 places,I…read moreunderwent surgery for 5hrs and was placed on the orthopedics ward.I have to say that being on an all male ward was intimidating at first,but overtime I adjusted and what stood out in my mind was the lovingly care and concern of the staff.I could write volumes.plz see my remarks on yelp about that Manhattan Va were I also reference the Bronx Va.The two hospitals operate very differently and although I've been coming for a number of years I'm still learning the ins and outs.First let me say if you a absolutely need to drive or you dont have assess a ride this might be a better option as manhattan Va has no parking lot.But get early as parking on Campus is now more limited due to construction of several buildings on the property.First stop is eligibility on the ninth floor bring your DD214 if your not already enrolled.Next you'll need to find a primary care physician as kingsbridge is teaching hospital medical residents are coming from Mount Sinai primarily and Columbia's Dental School primarily. I've also see nursing students and occupational therapy students,but I don't know how they function there.By the way I know that both hospitals are hiring RNs,LPns,nursing assistants and Physician Assistants for various depts.Plz google for details,you go though a very through vetting process that could take months.Once hired after a probationary period you can apply for other positions in house,or even transfer another VA.The whole process is probably less clear so you'll probably have to rely on other vets to navigate the system.Once a month on the 15th there's a DAV meeting that might be helpful.This hospital has all of the dept that most hospitals have in addition to a big kidney transplant dept,dialysis,and a huge nursing home.Theres a Cafeteria with many healthy options,there's a tax free patriot store on the 1st fl near the pharmacy and the travel office. Overtime I'll try and go into more detail.Lastly I should mention the pact act, that addresses medical issues surrounding the burn pit.Over all I would highly recommend the va hospital,hospitals are staffed by human beings,and as such you'll find excellent treatment and terrible in the finest hospitals...let's make this one great.

I've done Reiki a couple of times before but never felt a huge difference. With Deborah, it was different. During the session, Deborah asked questions to understand my needs and concerns. She was positive and warm, and made me feel very comfortable. She also introduced me to flower essences, which I hadn't heard of prior. During the healing session, I yawned a lot (like I was releasing a lot of repressed energy!). Afterwards, I felt relaxed - it was clear that the session truly worked although it wasn't done in person, which I was a little nervous about at first. Deborah also quickly followed up after our session with additional information and promptly responded to a follow up question I had about flower essences. It's been four days since our session, and my chronic neck pain that I've had for 10 weeks is significantly better - in a way my chiropractor couldn't help. I'm really glad I made the investment in my healing session with Deborah and now understand why she has so many positive, genuine reviews (she's not compensating us or giving us discounts to write these, like some businesses do!).
