    Crab Cake w/coleslaw and rice.

Super fun place to have lunch! We went for the quirky experience - tons of memorabilia on the walls, lots of Christmas decor, themed areas. It works because it's so over the top and the staff is equally committed. Can't imagine how much work it was to pull this place back together after hurricane damage - kudos to those involved! Parking was pretty easy, but we went late afternoon on a weekday before high season was in full effect. We sat at the Lover's Table, which was very cute and included a loveseat that faced out at the restaurant. Our server was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, attentive and fun, but not pushy. We ordered the Napoleon Bonapart (prime rib sandwich), crab cake meal, orange crunch cake, iced tea & lemonade. All the food was good. The crab cakes were our favorite and the white rice that came with it was really delicious - perhaps it was a coconut rice? Typically white rice is pretty bland, but this one was very good. I realize everyone raves about the desserts, particularly the orange crunch cake. It was good, but perhaps the reviews hyped it a bit too much. Or perhaps it just needs to sit out a bit before serving, as it's served cold so the frosting is pretty firm. We found that the leftovers we had later at room temp were much better. I'd definitely recommend Bubble Room to others for the experience. The food is fine, but the ambiance and fun will be great memories.

My friend suggested the newly re opened Bubble Room for my Birthday. While they do not generally do reservations, they do take them for large groups. There is plenty to look at while you wait, as well as a gift shop across the street. When coming up with a theme, it seems that three different people had three different ideas: Christmas, old Hollywood, and under the sea. Then they just decided to do all three. The result is a whimsical mash up, one room decorated for Christmas with a train running through an upper balcony, another with table side fishtanks, and the woman's bathroom plastered in Hollywoods golden age stars. There's something to see anywhere you sit, though warning for those who get overstimulated. We sat in the smaller upstairs room, which managed to combine all three themes. The server did an amazing job of taking care of nine adults and three kids. Their menu is a good size, with good options: salads, seafood, steak, but not overwhelming. They also have a kids menu. Then they brought a giant basket of bread and cinnamon rolls. Be careful to not fill up as the bread is so good. I had the grouper with a creamy sauce, which came with a twice baked potato, and veggies. You can pick the fish and the preparation style. All of the food was great, despite being full, our group managed to share a few (giant) slices of cake. The Bubble room is known for their cake, making it the perfect end for a birthday dinner. Both the chocolate and the orange crush were delicious. Captiva was a bit of a drive, but the restaurant was worth it for a great birthday experience.

You can't pass this place up. The cutest restaurant you ever did see. Filled with all types of memorabilia. There isn't an empty space on the walls. So many things from my childhood. Oh, the memories it brought back. Food is extraordinary too. The portions sizes are exceptional. And the dessert!!! Wow! Delicious. Do not miss this place while visiting Captiva. Well worth the money.

A trip to Sanibel isn't complete without a meal at the Bubble Room! I'm glad they've been able to reopen after the hurricane. It's Christmas every day at the Bubble Room, which is covered in antique and funky decor, a few Santas included. Tacky in a good way. The service is good, and the food is tasty. You start with a sweet and savory mix of cheesy toast and cinnamon buns. I then got the pistachio crusted Mahi which was delicious. I also tried the crab cakes and she crab soup which were great as well. The cakes are massive and were more that we wanted on this trip so we went across to Boop by the Bubble Room, which is right in front where the gift shop used to be (which is now across the street) and got fantastic ice cream. Definitely recommend!

Well this crazy place should be on your must try list. The waitress was adorable! The food! The drinks! The cake!!! Just go and try it for yourself.

The Bubble Room has reopened! If you've never been, you must go. The food is wonderful, but the desserts are out of this world. Must try the orange crunch cake. What you see in the picture is the actual sizes of the cakes (huge), and well worth the million calories! Although the wait time for our party of six took a bit, it was well worth the wait. The prices were reasonable, with a decent selection. Although nobody in our group had one, there was a drink they served in a pineapple that looked really good. Whether you're old or young, you'll enjoy looking at all the vintage items that are in every nook and cranny. I don't remember our waiter's name, but he was awesome.

What is better than a slice of cake? Perhaps eating it on the beach while watching the sun go down. Well, at Bubble Room, this vision is possible. The cake selection at this location is to die for. Bubble Room's menu features cakes such as French Chocolate Torte, Very Moist Chocolate, Jamaican Rum Cake, Key Lime Pie, Butter Crunch Ice Cream Pie, Tropical Breeze, New York Style Cheesecake, White Christmas, Red Velvet, and a fan favorite, Orange Crunch. I've had the pleasure of trying some of these cakes, and boy, are they good!!! Melt-in-your-mouth, take-you-to-heaven good. Every bite is insanely moist and fresh, with flavors that truly explode -- rich chocolate, bold rum, bright citrus -- whatever you choose, it delivers. Oh, and they're HUGE. Great bang for your buck $$. Beyond just the cakes, they offer both lunch and dinner menus that highlight mainly seafood dishes. YUH-UM! A little history on the place, Bubble Room was established in 1979 to mimic life in the 1920s-1950s. The entire restaurant is decorated with carnival-like decor, immersing the guests in a nostalgic experience. And they definitely do just that! I'd go back in a heart-beat. Cake lovers, don't walk... run.

It doesn't take itself seriously at all, which is refreshing on an island that can be a little uppity. Best of all, the souvenirs were really reasonable. I got a really nice beach towel for $14, a picture frame for $6, and a keychain for $4, plus some really nice postcards. The T-Shirt Hut's souvenirs were even cheaper than the souvenirs at Bailey's or Jerry's, and you would expect a grocery store would have cheaper souvenirs than a souvenir shop. If economy is your goal, I don't think you'll find more reasonably priced, quality souvenirs anywhere else but at the T-Shirt Hut. And this store was just fun to walk through. Plus, it's a great thing to do on a rainy day in Sanibel.

I tried taking a selfie and the owner offered to take a real picture for me. How thoughtful! The store is a bit bigger than most shops and the better of the merchandise are the t-shirts and sweatshirts. They were of better design and quality without being too expensive. By better design, I mean the shirts were not cheesy or super touristy. It does not look like you got the shirt at a giveaway. The designs and cuts were just enough to say casual beach wear and if you wanted to stock up for gift giving it won't break the bank. There are shells to buy in the back of the store as well. Sand dollars were in good condition and they have a good variety of smaller colorful shells too. Good people working there as I was not pressured to buy something. The overall shopping experience was enjoyable. I would recommend checking it out!

In the past the customer service has been terrible, like really bad, but this last visit, it was very different. There were two ladies working in the store, and both welcomed us and said hello, asked if we needed help. Much improved! This is the store you go to buy sea shells, that's it! They have a few tee-shirts and hats but you come here to buy a shell or two or 10. There are probably thousands of different shells, from tiny shells to larger shells, some are pick yourself and some are behind a case. There are also decorative shells and very rare shells that sell for over $100. I do think you should stop here for shells, I also think they are expensive in ways. I am not sure where they purchase their shells but some that are super tiny, can run over $1.50 a shell. My wife bought one that was $2.00 and was smaller than a dime. But I guess it might be rare. I think most of these shells, especially the small ones should be 25 cents. My wife and her family like to do crafting so having a large mix variety of shells would also be beneficial. Overall this is your spot to go for sea shells. Plain and simple. It is the best spot in my opinion, there are a few stores around the island that sells shells, but Sea Shells has by far the biggest selection!

This past year though, the service was so much better, it actually made a great shopping experience. There was a younger lady and an older lady, but both were welcoming, greeted us, asked if we needed help and were just friendly. It was such a great improvement! This is your one stop shop for buying shells. All those seashells you want but cannot find, this is where you come. They have thousands of different shells, from tiny shells to larger shells. They also have decorative shells that either have been made into a figurine or painted. We always buy a couple unique looking ones. Sanibel and Captiva are known for their shelling but some of these you just never find, or at least we have never found. My only issue still is with the price. Some of the tiniest shells cost so much money! A tiny starfish the size of quarter might run you $1.50 or more. The prices just seem high. I would expect the tiny ones to be around 25 cents, but I think the cheapest one is 50 cents. I don't know where they get their shells from, but I do think its expensive. I also wish they had a big bag of random shells put together. I didn't really see that and you have so many options, it would be nice. Picking one tiny shell at a time can be a hassle and costs add up quickly. Overall this is your spot to go for sea shells, if there is something you really want, they have it here. A lot of unique shells, even some rare shells. I would highly recommend stopping here now that the customer service has improved!
