What's great day and great golf course. To start, the starter made all player wait to tee off number 1 until the group in front was on the green. This made for perfect pace of play. Never had to wait. Course was in great condition, greens are very hard, lots of slope. Wide open fairways give confidence to rip it. Best part are the views, beautiful Hill Country. read more

The buck is solid choice. Good golf and the staff are helpful and accommodating. Course is good and open off the tee but the greens are fast and rolling. Treacherous in the winter but slowing down now in the spring and summer. Plenty of grass and not spotted out with patchy areas. The only bad thing is it gets busy. Used to be slow and calm and peaceful but now it's a rush and groups are slammed back to back. It will stack up sometimes and especially in prime hours and midday on weekends. You will wait. But the course (which is most important) is quite nice and kept in good shape. Fill your divots people, and fix those pitch marks on the green. read more

Horribly slow rounds. Course backs up repeatedly on holes and there is no marshal or pro to speed up play at all. Took one hour and forty minutes to play 3 holes before we decided to quit and go home. read more

Very nice golf course with friendly staff. Carts are zippy and well maintained. Grounds are excellent. The course is open with few trees, nice water hazards, and just enough sand bunkers to challenge you. Conveniently just north of San Antonio. Parking lot is a bit tiny. Cannot book through smartphone apps. You must use their website. read more

The course is in very good condition. The staff is friendly. Not a lot of amenities but who needs a pool, tennis courts and overpriced bad food (Fair Oaks Ranch). If it's just golf your looking for I'd recommend this course rather than joining the poorly managed and maintained Fair Oaks Ranch. read more

The first time I played this golf course was several years ago. I have since played this course a half dozen times, easy. This past Saturday, was the first time I had played this course in probably two years. I was really disappointed. I really love the layout of this golf course! It's wide-open, hilly, and scenic to be honest with you. But I think the quality of the fairways and the course in general has gone downhill. The fairways were riddled with weeds and it seemed very dry despite some decent rains the last year. Considering the condition of the course...the greens fees are a little steep. I'll probably be back ....it's a great little scenic course. But I truly hope they can get the course back in the shape I was used to seeing it in a handful of years ago. read more

Yep played it an hour and a half to play three holes and called the clubhouse to try and get the one group backing up the hole course to speed up play and after waiting another fifteen minutes without anyone coming out went to get a rain check since they wouldn't refund our money read more

Very nice course. Not a lot of hazards but the greens make up for that. I play here 4-5 times a month and the staff is very friendly and professional. The breakfast tacos on the weekend are huge. It's a little bit of a drive from San Antonio but I refuse to pay the over priced green fees for the Alamo Trail courses here in town. I wish there was a true bar/restaurant here for after my round but they have cold beer/beverages and snacks that suffice. Definitely would recommend the course. read more

Very nice course. Wide fairways and not a long course but the greens are large and difficult with hardly any flat spots. They offer some extras that you do not see on other courses - ball and club washers mounted on the carts, free cups of ice water, wet towels for your neck in the summer, etc.. I really enjoy playing at the Buckhorn. The greens are fast but true and the course is in especially good shape considering that it's January. The maintenance staff has done a great job. A good variety of par 3's, 4's and 5's and the undulations in the greens make it a challenge to score. read more

Course is in Horrible shape, over priced and took o er 5 hrs to played 18 holes because of 2-6 player groups in front of us. $40 for a round is a lot for the shape of it. I have played here several times before but this was a joke this afternoon. $20 a round would have been fair. read more

I used to play here almost weekly, but after going away to school it was a lot less frequent. First time being back since last summer and it just wasn't the same. I spoke to a Heather on the phone who may have been having a bad day or something but was definitely not friendly in helping me set up a tee time. In the past there have been some really kind people ho have wonderful hospitality but this was not one of those instances. read more
