The WORST MOST fraudulent company ever. I requested sprays twice a year. Without my permission they, started showing up 5-6 times a year and charging exorbitant money for 10 min. spray and most likely not doing any of it (my back gate is locked!!!) When I reported this was unlawful, I got a series of "have to talk in person." They are showing up without my permission, so how many phone calls does it take from me to cancel, when they charge me for people on my property who may or may not show up and without my permission (never signed that contract). And there is NO way they are even doing the work because my yard gate is locked. Nope. They are fraudulent! Canceled my service 6 months ago and they still charged me for 4 more sprays within 3 months. WHY???. I don't even have that many bugs. l think they charge times when no work is done. They can't even tell me the name of the person. The office manager noted she was "a good Christian woman and so was not accountable." Laughable, right? When I started with this company I was very impressed, that has changed. I have requested of them that they contact me and let me know if/when they are coming so I could decide whether or not I wanted the service. They started texting me in interesting ways. I would say that I didn't want the service, say "No", but they would tell me that I was only declining the extra services they mentioned in the text. For some reason I thought that saying no would mean that I did not want their service. That's not the case, when I texted them back telling they made a mistake, they told me I read the text wrong, not apologizing for the mistake but telling me I was in the wrong. I am not sure when the service industry went from helping to forcing. I understand running a business can be difficult and I have always treated them with kindness and respect, but this seems to be only one sided. No contract was signed, no agreement was made, yet they keep referring to some strange agreement that was made last year, as if what I wanted last year would remain the same, and that somehow this is an enforceable contract. Please if you get in business with them make sure you are explicit in what you want or they will take your no as a "ok we'll just do what we want. read more

I don't have complaints of their actual service because I only had them come once. From what I could tell, the big spray was fine. I'm not sure if they actually went or not because the house was vacant and I just gave them the code to get in. Maybe they went, maybe they didn't but I did pay for it. The problem I have with these guys is they NEVER STOP CALLING!! I am not kidding. They called me six times in a two hour period one day. They also started to send texts. In their texts, they would say things like... "we will be in your area on this day and time and are going to stop by your house and spray." I would text back and say No and they would keep texting or calling. I finally told them that because of the constant calls and texts, I am going to use a different service. It was just way too much. I am very upset with The Bugnappers. I have been paying them every time they spray my lawn, and yet they have not credited me for the services I have paid for. They text and call me constantly, saying they are coming to my house to do a service, i.e., lawn treatments, spraying for bugs, etc., and yet I have no idea whether they actually came to my home or not, because it doesn't look as if they have done anything. Even though I have paid them in full, I just received an email from them stating that I owe them $238.00. I had a conversation with a woman on the phone over the supposed overdue bill, and she stated I still owed $97.00. I advised her that the bill had already been paid, and she wanted to argue the subject, so I just hung up on her. I advised her that I no longer needed their services and to never come to my house again. It was then that I received the email stating that I owed them $238.00. This is what they do, they call you and say they are going to be in your area, in my case I live in Santa Clara UT, then they quote you a price for services. Which for me was 49 dollars. Then they billed me for two services ever after specifically telling me both services would be 49 dollars. Then they want 79 dollars more. Had a call first order because I have dogs. They never called. Never left an invoiice. Got a bill by email saying I owed $60 dollars. I called. Told them that they did not come to my house and spray. They said they had GPS and the technicians had jumped the fence. My son was home the day theys said they came. My dogs would have gone crazy for the "17 minutes" they said they were here. I had spiders and bugs and hornets everywhere for the rest of the fall and my dogs and myself were stung by hornets that had bult a nest on the side of the patio cement. Told them that I wasn't paying for services never rendered. They kept claiming "GPS" After a second call in February 2021, them stil claiming "GPS" said we came to the right house and sending me another bill, they discovered they had the wrong phone number. They also told me that by law they had to leave notice that they sprayed chemicals in my yard...they left no notice, no invoice, nothing. I was finally told that since they had the wrong phone number that they would cancel my bill. I told them to not call me again or offer me their services. I will go local, with a business that respects your yard, and your time and acutally knows the addresses in the valley and is tried and true when it comes to killing bugs, spiders and hornets! read more

I see that I am not the only one who is giving a rating of one. Customer service is horrible. The lady I spoke this morning with was so rude! The lawn service has been adequate, but the AC business they have started won't have a chance to be successful with such rude, obnoxious customer service people. She actually hung up on me! We had scheduled an AC tune up and power motor checkup. Unfortunately, our AC started giving us trouble so we requested a diagnostic along with the above two items. The man came out and, unbeknownst to me (since I wasn't in the room with him) didn't do the tune up and the power motor checkup. I got a call about that and I asked why that wasn't done; they had no answer except wanting to schedule ANOTHER appointment. Today, I called to cancel the appointment for that tune up. I can't keep taking days off for them. The first girl said that was okay; then, I got a call from someone at the office who said they would need to charge a cancellation fee. I was surprised because usually most companies charge that fee if you cancel within 48 hours. This cancellation was made more than a week ahead of time. I think the problem was that we didn't automatically reschedule and that annoyed them. Suffice it to say, we won't be doing business with the AC part of their business and probably will not want to deal with the insect spraying part of their company either. Never actually saw anyone do the work... just came home to an invoice. Hired them to do grass treatments and aerating- our yard has NEVER looked as bad as it does now. I don't know if they didn't actually do it or they use something that makes it worse, but it is so bad we may need to replace our grass. They never followed through on the aerating. I cancelled services and 2 weeks later I had another invoice on my garage because they had come back. They are very forceful on the phone and have continued to call to try to have us sign back up. Customer service is terrible Pay a little more for quality service... this was not only a waste of money but will also likely end up costing us even more to fix what they have done. read more

I had two services within two days. I was sent a text after the second treatment requesting a good review from the technician. My response was as follow "I did not notice that you sprayed under my trampoline. Seemed like you just rushed through the job rather than doing it thoroughly and completely. My hammock was collapsed on the yard from the storm last night but you did not bother to move it so that you could fertilize that spot of grass. Bottom line..I don't think you really care about what you are doing. Just rush through it and move on. I was not impressed at all and most likely will discontinue using Bugnappers. Friday morning before 700 a.m. I am awakened to someone in the LOCKED gated BACKYARD spraying who knows what all over my house with opened windows!!! When confronted about what was going on the laborer was very certain who I was and my address!!!! WRONG on both accounts! Excused himself, saying, well, you won't be billed. He "jumps fences" all the time to gain access to houses. Insisted he had correct address, which he clearly did not. Absolutely wrong address. I gave this company 2 stars because they do show up and I have seen a few dead bugs after their visits. I have tried to cancel our contract several times. The first time I was bullied into keeping it by a very aggressive salesperson who was suggesting that I was stupid for not wanting to keep their service. Second time and third time I've asked them to take me off their Client List and yesterday I received yet another phone call saying that they were going to come out this morning and spray again! There seems to be a big disconnect between the main office and the people doing the scheduling and no updating of The Client List. The Great Dead Tree Saga BACKGROUND We worked with the pest control side of Bugnappers for several years. They were adequate: they provided a decent price, reduced (but did not eliminate) insects around the house, and did not lock us into a contract. However, they never let us know they were coming so we could keep the dog inside, even though we asked. I'd rate their pest control as a three-star service. In April 2017, when they offered their lawn treatment service, I figured I'd give them a try. Bugnappers applied an herbicide/fertilizer mix to the lawn. A week after the treatment, I noticed the leaves on my 30-year-old locust tree curling and falling off. Large brown patches appeared in the lawn. Even the leaves on the nearby roses and hedges started to curl. I Googled the symptoms, and they pointed to a misapplication of herbicides. DENIALS Over the next six weeks, I called Bugnappers a number of times, looking for advice on how to save my plants and asking for a technician to come take a look. They repeatedly denied their treatment had damaged the yard and refused to send a technician. They told me I should probably be watering more. I asked to speak with the manager several times, and I was told that the manager was too busy. They took my number with a promise to have the manager call me, but she never did. Finally, I called J&J Nursery in Layton. They were helpful and friendly, forwarding me to their herbicide specialist. She asked me to bring in samples of the dying plants, and she confirmed my suspicions. Watering more had actually damaged my yard further because it increased the amount of poison the plants had absorbed. She referred me to the Utah Department of Agriculture and Food for laboratory testing. I called Bugnappers back, explained what J&J Nursery had said, and told Bugnappers I expected them to pay for the damages. I got more flat-out denials. So I told them I was going to report them to UDAF. At last, I got a call back from the manager. She was rude and defensive, saying that she was "on a first-name basis" with the people at UDAF and that I'd be wasting everyone's time if I filed a report. GOVERNMENT TESTING I reported them anyway. A UDAF specialist took samples of the damaged plants and sent them to their lab. It turns out that misapplication of herbicide is against the law in Utah. Because three months had passed by then, they could only test the larger plants, not the lawn. The test for the tree (which was completely dead) came back positive. I told Bugnappers about the test results and asked to speak to the manager. She would not accept or return my calls. Finally, one of the people I spoke with passed on a message from the manager that she had to see the test results before she'd consider paying to replace the tree. She would not call her "friends" at UDAF herself. It took six months before the full report and written results were available from UDAF. While I waited, I received several collection calls from Bugnappers. I explained each time that we were in the middle of a dispute, and that I was not willing to pay them for killing my tree. In December, Bugnappers called one last time, in her words, "to give you a chance to clear your debts before the new year." I refused to pay, so she "did me a favor" and wrote off the bill. TREE REPLACEMENT I received a copy of the full UDAF report the beginning of May 2018. In it was an email from the manager at Bugnappers promising that, if the test results were positive, she would replace the tree. I forwarded the report to Bugnappers and called to follow up. Once again, the manager was not available to speak on the phone, and they said she would call me. Instead of calling, she sent a tree removal company to give her an estimate without notifying me he would be coming. Then more weeks passed. Finally, she called my husband: one of her technicians had seen a couple stumps from trees we removed ourselves ten years ago. She didn't think she should have to pay for stump removal if we already had other stumps on our property. My husband made it clear that we expected Bugnappers to remove the stump and provide the largest replacement tree available. It would take 30 years to replace the shade over our driveway, and we felt that a good-faith effort would minimize the time as much as possible. Nearly 14 months after Bugnappers killed our tree, the tree removers showed up (once again with no notice). A week later, they removed the stump. We waited for the new tree, but it didn't arrive. Several days later, I found the tree: it was a tiny, skinny thing that someone had left behind the hedge opposite our front door where it couldn't be seen. I'm tired of fighting with them. We're going to plant the twig and wait 30 years. If Bugnappers continues its horrible communication and customer service, I don't expect they'll be around to see it. read more

Yesterday I watched the Bugnappers truck speeding up and slowing down well over the speed limit to aggressively tailgate people in an effort to get them to move out of his way. Dude has this huge tank of poison in his truck and he is driving like an idiot teenager. When I first saw the truck I thought I'd look them up because we are looking to hire someone to spray for spiders, but based on what I watched I don't trust these folks to be responsible enough with poison around my home. read more

My "regular" pest control guy decided to go back to school, so I was in the "market" for a new pest control service. I heard about Bugnappers and thought that I would give them a try. I like to be home for these sorts of things, so I called and made arrangements for them to come on a day I had off work. I asked how much it would be and she said "$54". I was shocked. I told her that we had a lot of rocks and I would like them sprayed as well as the eaves, the shed, etc. "Yep, $54 is all". I thought it must be an introductory price. The day came and they didn't come and they didn't come, they never came. It was a windy day, but they never called to say they weren't coming. I called twice that week and it went to voicemail. The following week, I called again and she said, "Oh, yes, we have you on our priority list, we will be there Thursday". They would never have let me know had I not called them. Sure enough, my husband said they came and we had an invoice on our door. Fast forward a month and my daughter and son-in-law bought a house. I decided that I would pay for a pest control service to spray as a house-warming gift. I called Bugnappers and explained to the girl that I wanted them to come on Friday at 3, because that would be before the animals were moved into the house. I asked her how much it would be and she said "140". I asked why so much more than the $54 that she charged me (my daughter's house and yard are much smaller than mine), she said that the $54 only covered 3 feet out from the foundation. She had told me before that it included all the landscaping, eaves, etc., so she lied to me the first time. I explained to her that I would be paying for the spray at my daughter's house, gave her the address, but asked her to bill it to me. I called on Thursday to double-check that they were still planning on coming and she said "yes" they were. I get to my daughter's house at 3 on Friday and they hadn't been there yet, and they never did come. I called and left a message. After helping my daughter move in, I go to my own home to find an invoice on my door. They had come to spray MY house, after I explained the situation and that I wanted it to be a gift to my daughter. I called on Monday, had to leave a message again because no one answered, and told them to NEVER come to my house again. Their communication sucks and I would not be paying that invoice. This is the WORST pest control service EVER. I would highly recommend that you use anyone BUT Bugnappers!!!!! read more

This company came and sprayed my house 3 times each time they would leave a sign in my lawn and an invoice on my door, they say they came a 4th time but I did not see anything in my lawn nor did I not get an invoice, when I ask where the invoice was they said "well we didn't finish the job so we didn't leave one" so y'all want me to pay for a job not finish, how do we know you even came because I don't even remember asking you to come a 4th time. Initially signed up with the bug snappers by chance. And started having my parents home, where I was living, serviced. I transferred services to my new house when I left. A few months later my parents, who are extremely picky on pesticides, and dont believe in paying for a pest company, were calling and begging for the number to get their house signed back up because they didnt realize how good it was to be pest free until using the bugnappers. Their payment flexibility is a huge plus in my book, but my favorite part of the company are the techs. They always went above and beyond for us. Instead of calling me, they simply removed my name from the account and made my wife the person to contact. They constantly call my wife to upsell their services! I have explicitly asked them to not call, I will call them if I want more services done! Even though that was clearly understood by the person I talked to over the phone, they still continue to call my wife. They also show up and do a service without me consenting to pay for it. I moved last year and called to transfer service to my new home. They sprayed the wrong house twice! Then told me I never called to change the address. This summer I called to cancel service as I no longer needed it and they still send people out and bill me. My fence is paddle locked as I have pets and they stated they would just jump the fence. I worked for this company. I loved working for it, The owner of the company treats you really well and truly cares for his employees. Although the big issue that I ran into was that they had a lot of customers calling that had their service scheduled for multiple weeks and they never came out. I also scheduled my mother to have her lawn sprayed and it seems that her dandelions are not going away. I'd suggest working for this company. But don't use them. read more

I called for about a year, as needed, when I wanted my house sprayed for bugs. The last time they came without my permission. I was not home and they sprayed my yard. When I called to refute the bill, they continued to say it was in their system that I approved the spray. I spoke to them in October about unauthorized service and they said they would call me back. They finally called back in March and said they would turn me into collection if I didn't pay the bill. I paid the bill and asked to be removed from their phone list. These guys are horrible. From what I have seen in posting my problems with them their main means of business is to get you to agree to one spray then say they spray or perhaps do spray who knows you weren't home, just have a bill they want you to pay. Then their hyper aggressive collections dept. hounds people until they just pay them to get left alone. They got my phone number from someone named Tyler who just made it up so they would leave him alone and they refused to believe me. They called me for 2 years and more than 20x probably closer to 30 or 40. I finally registered my number on the federal do not call list and told them that and a day later they call again "Is Tyler there" I asked over and over to talk to the manager and was always told he "is in a meeting right now, we will have him call you back" after about 7x of that I finally just blocked all the numbers they called from to resolve this. Never once did they put in any due diligence to see if my number actually ever belonged to a Tyler. It was listed at the time and a google search can show you I have had it for 15 years. The only reason every place they can be rated isn't 1-2 stars is they have their employees go around and post 5 star reviews, check their fb and you will see that half of them work there that gave It 5 stars. Do NOT go with Bugnappers! At first the service seemed great but as time went on everything went wrong. There was no follow up on their end and things I asked them to do where not done. I gave them several chances to fix the problem and nothing was done. They continued to mix me up with other clients and do services I didn't ask for. I canceled my service and they still came out and did services. I am waiting to hear back if I will receive a credit for a service I didn't want and canceled. It has been several weeks. I have been the one emailing and calling Bugnappers to find out the result. They are avoiding my emails and calls. Their customer service is horrible! No one knows what is going on and they just tell you what you want to hear. When asked to speak to a manager she has no authority to do anything, only the owner can do anything. I was told he owns several businesses and is really busy..... ......... I believe they did the pest treatment and that seemed to work but the grass treatment didn't do anything. I actually wonder if they did anything because now that we have gone elsewhere our lawn looks great. When I first called to cancel because our lawn didn't look very good. She said she would send a tech out to take a look at it and let me know what might be wrong. Never heard a single word. They also miss quoted me a price for a grub treatment and lawn application, felt like they did this to get me to sign up. Once received the bill they would just say sorry. I was cold called by BugNappers in late 2015- their price to spray for spiders on the perimeter was good. I had them call in the early part of 2016 to ask for some lawn spraying. I specifically asked for ONLY 3X for them to come through out the spring and summer of 2016 to fertilize my lawn. I also asked for a one time treatment for grubs. THAT WAS ALL. Imagine my surprise when I found an invoice blown in the dirt that had fertilization and insect treatments monthly @ $88. I tried to call and talk to them- a "Jessica" basically called me a liar when I said I didn't ask for that. Another manager said that it just made better business sense that they do both the fertilizer and insect treatment together because they had both tanks on their truck. WHAT?! I never once asked for insect treatment. Today (3/29) I just had someone call and ask for more business. I absolutely will NEVER do business with this company. Then I again tried to explain I didn't mind paying for the services I actually asked for, and the girl actually said she believed Jessica. So she basically called for continued business and called me a liar. Horrendous customer service- I had two other people I referred to them, my cousin actually had them come a few times, but they didn't do what she asked either and they always came and sprayed when she wasn't there (although they were supposed to schedule when she was home- they never came when they were scheduled). My neighbor also scheduled them to come, but when she heard how they ran their business and treated me she cancelled. Desired Resolution: Billing Adjustment Desired Outcome I have paid for the services I asked for, but will not pay for the extra times they came and the extra services they just decided to do. I have never had such a bad experience with a company. I requested a call before they came to make an appointment to spray nobody ever called but they apparently came because we had and invoice left in our door. I called them and told them to call us before they came a second time only to have another invoice !! Called and canceled any further treatments ......we came home only to another invoice......I swear this company is sooooo horrible....don't use. I put it in writing and sent it to them to not ever come back....we will see if it works if not thinking about taking legal action..... read more
