The appointment was scheduled for 8/5/2025 at 3:30 on my calendar. I called on 8/5/2025, I was told that the appointment is scheduled for 8/12/2025, today at 3:30. I called today 8/12/205 at 3:30. I was told that the attorney is not available and is not accepting new cases. They recommended me to another attorney. This law firm was from another attorney's recommendation. I am sharing this so that anyone considering using this law firm beware of waiting approximately 6 weeks for a scheduled appointment only to told that the attorney is not available and not taking additional cases.

After this, I was assigned to another attorney within the firm. The representation itself was fine, but I did feel that there was unneeded back-and-forth at times, with each message being billed at a rate of 6 minutes, it all adds up. The tipping point was when I emailed asking if we could reach out to the other party's representation and also asked if there were any strategies to move toward a resolution. I received a response stating "It is good to hear from you. It probably makes sense for you to reach out to [other party regarding my question] and the need to reach a resolution. If you are able to reach an agreement, then we can help you to memorialize its terms." I was surprised when I was charged for this, and when I asked if I was being charged, I was ignored. Finally, when I asked to end my relationship with the firm and requested a refund of my retainer, the amount billed for the aforementioned email response was deducted. While it was only ~$40, my question was not even answered. I was offered a 15 minute consultation at a later time, but since I'm no longer a client, asked if that was something I would even be able to use. A week later and I have not received a response. I would be cautious of this firm if your situation is not cut and dry and to whom you are assigned. In my experience, Soo Keithley is fantastic, but others may leave you wanting for more.

A lot of the other posters' negative experiences with Soo and her firm are very familiar and similar to my own. In my opinion, professionalism is a huge issue with this firm. Ultimately and I cannot emphasize this enough -- this firm became just as, if not more, stressful to deal with than the high conflict divorce I was embroiled in. And that is not a feeling you want with your attorney who is supposed to advocate for your interests.

I started with a different lawyer who was rushed, inattentive, and whose overall planning wasn't beneficial to my case. When she retired, I was assigned to Alyssa, who had little experience with custody cases. Despite this, Alyssa was professional, approachable, and genuinely tried to support me, explaining legal issues clearly and making a stressful process more understandable. Brittany was a good assistant and helpful whenever she could. Unfortunately, a very crucial court date was missed by Alyssa, which I believe was the turning point in our case. After that, the judge sent our case to Fauquier County, and that's when things started to go downhill. To make matters worse, during my last case in Loudoun County, they sent a random attorney to support me who didn't know anything about my case, making both me and Livesay & Myers look unprepared in front of the judge. After spending $18,000, I literally got nothing from the ordeal--the only modification that came out of all this was a calling schedule with my kids. Livesay & Myers can be capable and supportive, but I strongly suggest clarifying who will handle your case and their experience with custody matters before committing.

The circuit court of Virginia determined that my lawyer, Kevin Jaros' billing was unreasonable…read more My lemon law case was settled out of court in my favor, but the defendants refused to pay my legal bills, claiming they included unnecessary and excessive activities, block billing and administrative tasks charged at senior lawyer rates. The case for the legal fees went to a Circuit Court of Virginia hearing My lawyer decided not to attend and instead sent a junior partner, Bret Giaimo, whose hands were visibly shaking and voice kept breaking up with nerves. Judge Stoney was clearly not satisfied with the Giaimo's explanation for Jaros' billing practices and awarded me only 70% of my costs as reasonable, leaving me over $11,000 out of pocket. When I asked Jaros to amend his billing to better reflect what the judge determined as reasonable, he refused. Even when I asked him to split the difference he flatly refused. To add insult to inquiry, after the court hearing Jaros sent me a long email telling me that I should look at this as a victory because the defendants were not happy with the amount they had to pay out . He then billed me a further $113 for the 'pleasure' of his email. Overall, I was billed more than $40,000 and was awarded $29,000 by the court as reasonable fees. After all of that, they tried to get me to remove my review. When I didn't, they retaliated further. They have earned their reputation for working harder against their clients than for them.
