This was genuinely the best burger I have ever had. Not exaggerating, I feel like it's become one of my top five favorite foods ever. I'm from the United States, where everyone brags about how good their burgers are, how the US makes the best burgers in the world, a classic American dish that no other place could top. That was entirely false. I ordered a California classic on a gluten free bun and it was 10/10. My family ordered hamburgers and impossible burgers and they said they were the best burgers they've ever had, and my 60yo mother said it may be the best thing she's ever eaten. The gluten free buns were soft and squishy like gluten ones, the meat was cooked well, the impossible "meat" was cooked perfectly and cooked-to-order, and the toppings were fresh. The sautéed onion on mine was perfect. The milkshakes are also great, and big for how low the price is. My family got choco caramel and mint chocolate and they were great. The fries were just okay. Not something I would order on their own. The burgers were filling though, so it was fine. The counter worker was friendly and welcoming. She didn't know whether the secret sauce was gluten free, but was otherwise knowledgeable about the menu's details. It turns out they have allergens listed for everything on their website, as well as nutrition information. I'm type 1 diabetic and my blood sugar stayed stable after eating, meaning the listed facts were accurate. And my family with severe celiac disease had no adverse reactions to our food. A win! The ambiance was pretty cool, but loud. It's a small-ish space but it doesn't feel cramped. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Overall, my family and I loved our experience. This is somewhere we will come back to over and over again. read more

I ordered this on DoorDash and picked it up! I got "The Pope" and "Religious Hypocrite" and fresh cut fries. Out of all the burger places I've had in Hamilton, this one might be my least favourite. (My fav spot is Delirious) The portobello mushroom had cheese "gushing" out of it (which was delicious) The main thing I didn't enjoy was the buns that they used. It just tasted like the buns McDonald's use and it started getting a bit soggy (but that might be because I waited till I got him to eat it) Personally for my burger, the religious hypocrite I wouldn't go back to get it here. TL;DR: Overpriced for the serving size, and the quality isn't good enough to counterbalance that. Go to HAMBRGR instead. Hung over from a work party, I was in very serious need of greasy, meaty deliciousness. Having been to Burger Priest once many moons ago (think, back when it opened moons ago), I remembered that their quality was pretty good, and they were conveniently available via Skip the Dishes. So, off I ordered. Seeing that if you spent $20 total for your order, delivery was free, I decided to "splurge" and get their Blue Steel ($11), a poutine ($8), and a cookie ($1.50). Now, to understand the degree of my disappointment, you may need some context. Context One: When I order from HAMBRGR (the Ottawa Street location) I can only finish half my burger and a handful of fries before tapping out. Context Two: When ordering from the COOP, their beef poutine is TWO meals for me. Context Three: If I opt for Wendy's, a Double and small fries makes me uncomfortably full. So, when my food arrived... I was beyond disappointed with the serving size. The burger was literally thinner than the width of my pointer finger. It was decent in terms of juiciness, and there was an okay amount of blue cheese on it...but I've seen thicker burgers in PC's $13 8-pack at Fortino's. The poutine gravy was decently flavoured, but the fries were over-salted and the sizing was basically a side-order. So, suffice it to say, I won't be ordering from them again. read more

I've been to BP's before, so I knew what to expect walking in, but my friend was going to be experiencing this meal for the first time. I ordered the Option (panko fried cheese-stuffed portobello mushrooms), one of my faves that I hadn't ordered in quite some time. It was just as amazing as I remembered! My friend got the cheeseburger, and he remarked afterwards that it was one of the best burgers he's had. We both were going bananas for the French fries too...they are so good, and you get a huge serving of them...yessss! They also seemed to fix the one minor complaint that I've had going to BP - the wait! They had a sign saying that you wouldn't wait longer than 12 mins for your lunch, and they adhered to it. It was such a great experience bringing a friend somewhere for the first time that you've raved about for ages and have it actually deliver! Thanks BP. You never disappoint! read more

Tried the California burger (or something like that) which the buns were fried in butter and as tempting as it might sound it was the worst choice I have made in my entire life!! ;-) It was greasy and soggy and my sandwich was falling apart after the first bite. The chilli fries weren't any better either in terms of soggy-ness! Chocolate milkshake was the best part. The service and the (religious?!! I had to stop and try the famous Big Mac burger called the high priest. I have to admit it was pretty good the the first time I tried it. This burger was just like a Big Mac but much larger and made with actual real beef! The only issue here is the consistency is just not there yet. This place is alright but not great. Peters denial was ok. It consists of southern fried chicken smothered with corn and gravy on a fresh bun. The chicken was cooked well and a little spicy but I found the bun couldn't hold up to the gravy and the heat of the food so basically it fell apart and was messy. Good thing I ate in the restaurant, if I had opted to take it home the bun wouldn't have made it. The Red Sea is a burger smothered in chili on a fresh bun. My b/f had no complaints except again the bun was just too soft. It should be a crusty more substantial bun for these messy sandwiches. We shared a side of fries and gravy. I really liked the fries with a little salt and ketchup whereas he said they were ok but needed more salt and gravy. Not sure if we would go back. Burger Priest is innovatively profanely religious. This place is honestly all contradiction. The menu is extensive ranging from chill fries to hot dogs to burgers to desserts to floats & milkshakes. I loved the cookies here - reminds me of the sugar cookies from elementary school bake sales. "What's Right" The chill fries were meh - chili was a little too bland. The burger was salty????? This was our first time trying the Burger's Priest. We had no idea what to expect, but were very happy with our experience. The burgers were fresh, and the bacon on my Double Bacon Cheeseburger was crunchy, a great contrast to the messy goodness of the two juicy 4oz patties - exactly how it should be! It dosn't come in a huge bun like some other places, so it looks smaller, but it is quite filling. Our fries were hot and crisp and not over seasoned. The service was friendly and our food came out in good time. We will definitely be back. read more

It is a present surprise that the Burger's Priest serve gluten free bun and it is a good one especially after I settled for beef patty wrapped in a piece of lettuce. The beef patty is fresh and made to order which set a very high bar for "fast food" burger. The only con for me is the fries are pretty greasy. The best burger in Hamilton/Burlington hands down. The burgers are top quality freshly ground meat, cooked correctly, always thick and juicy, dripping with flavour. I like them with only cheese. My husband always gets one with lots of toppings and he is equally impressed. Burger's Priest is a little pricey, but completely worth it. These burgers are SO much better than the other two places in Hamilton that people often claim to be the best; Hambrgr - totally over-rated. The hamburg there was dry and tasteless. Great burgers and burger style creations! Burgers and buns so fresh they put their competition and the run-of-the-mill burger chains to shame. I've tried the Red Sea, Peter's Denial, the Option and the Jarge-style burger with smoke (from the secret menu). The Red Sea is a burger with a thick, meaty chili, my favourite to date. Peter's denial is a breaded chicken breast served on a bun with cream corn and gravy, a great choice for those days when you want to change it up a bit. The Option is a vegetarian patty, unlike any other vegetarian patty I've ever had, a "custom blend of cheesy goodness sandwiched between two roasted portabello mushrooms, breaded and deep fried then placed on a bun with your choice of toppings" - finally a vegetarian option that carnivores can enjoy! The Jarge-style - mustard grilled patties with fried onion - very juicy with a taste all its own. Don't forget to order "smoke" which are deep-fried jalapeno rings if you want to spice things up. The food arrived at a decent time but I was disappointed at the burger size the bun and the fries. It taste like Harveys. Was out of chicken, and said they hadnt grinded any beef so we had to wait over 20 min for them to do so so they could make burger. All ketchup bottles were empty as well. Poorly organized location. When I pay $60 for my husband & I to eat; I'd expect more than a single pickle slice and one single ring of onion as a topping. Thought we would try this burger place tonight as we heard some good things. On first impression the decor is really stark. There was a large mouse trap located to the left of the front door. Eek!! I ordered the Priest burger and my daughter ordered a cheeseburger. The server told us they would be ready in 7 mins. Hmm. I thought the burgers were made to order?? Wonder how they get them cooked so fast. We took our meals to go. My burger was very greasy and lacked Amy remarkable flavour. No seasoning at all. The cheese was processed cheese slices. The pickles were like McDonald's pickles. No tomato in sight. We were very disappointed.
