This place is slightly hard to find. It's located in a dogey plaza in the east end of Markham. I…read moreonly found out of this place through a friend because she brought in some really tasty meats for our last BBQ. I don't think I would have ever stepped into this place otherwise. Once you enter in, someone greets you and asks you what you want. Everything is pre-bagged so you just tick off which meats you want and they pull it out of the tray or fridge for you. I ordered a bag of kalbi ribs, two bags of chicken thighs in different flavours. I don't find the kalbi really tasty for some reason. Maybe the marinade is too light but I wasn't a fan of the texture of the meat either. The chicken thighs on the other hand kicked it out of the ball park. The curry one is soooo juicy and delicious and I love the flavours. Prices are pretty good too. I can't remember exactly how much it was but I think the 3 bags were under $30 and they were more than enough to feed a family of 6.

Tried this place once to get meat for bbq and got the beef short ribs, lemongrass chicken, squid,…read moreand chicken wings. Everything is marinated beforehand so this would be great if you planned a last minute bbq. I would get everything but the squid again. The squid didn't have any unique flavour to it and was quite bland in my opinion. If you get it I would recommend adding some sauce prior to putting it on the grill. As a side note, the shop's location has changed, which is shown on a notice at the door. They are located at another unit, called Ah Fong, in the same plaza. The plaza itself is super run down but don't judge a book by its cover - the meat here is amazing!

The service was excellent. I've been meaning to come here for about 2-3 years ever since I learned…read moreabout it back when I worked at Ambrosia grocery. Actually back in June when it was my birthday I had made the decision to come here or go to a Brazilian steakhouse. I did neither. Today however I decided that nothing would stop me I needed to learn if the rumour about Japanese wagu was true. The concept is that in the west we raise meat butcher it and sell it as is. In Japan they decided to selectively breed the meat to incorporate a more streamlined fatty deposit that not only brings flavour but tenderness. I knew I was going to pay a pretty penny. I opted out of the tenderloin and decided on a thin strip of sirloin steak as shown in the picture. At $56 it's the single most expensive piece of meat I've ever purchased. Make no mistake about it I knew I was getting f*cked but but I somehow didn't mind it when I paid. I didn't know if the owner was a man or woman so I'm not sure where the bulk of my money was going, whether it was to the store of Japan. Either way I was definitely fin-domed for those who know the crude terminally. The only question is: was it worth it? Well people say you should panfry for best flavour but I microwave over a Japanese curry csauce I got. I apologize if I dishonored you all through my cooking method. Anyhow the meat ended up being more tender and there was a more flavourful fatty profile but I did not but it didn't really melt in my mouth as reviews say (again microwave sorry). I'd give it a 4.5 out of 5. I feel like any decent marbled fatty steak or ribeye could come close but the Wagu was special indeed, so Famu gets 5 stars

Go big or go home! I am a HUGE fan of anything bbq'd. Hubby and I are always searching for the best…read morebutcher that sells all of our fav cuts. Last Summer we were craving some Wagyu cuts. We have tried a few places in and around Markham that sell Wagyu, but non of them blew us away. I decided to do a random search for Japanese Butchers and Wagyu and came across FãMu Inc. which is listed as "The only Japanese Butcher in Ontario". FãMu is the Japanese pronunciation of farm. They are all about animals that are pasture or free-run, raised without chemicals, antibiotics, hormones or animal bi-products. Located in J Town, an indoor/outdoor mall of Japanese businesses located On Steeles Avenue E near Woodbine in Markham. (LOVED the shops at J Town!!). We have had several great experiences with this shop since our first visit 9 months ago. Everyone in shop is very helpful and knowledgeable about all of the cuts they sell. Our first try of FãMu we purchased the A5 Wagyu Miyazaki Striploin. BBQ'd on the grill for 2 min on each side (as per the butchers recommendation), the cuts were bbq'd to perfection and just melted in our mouths. I have never eaten a steak anywhere that was so perfectly marbled and so tender. I would say it was easily one of the best steaks I have ever had! The next would be the Australian Wagyu Ribeye we picked up (15oz cuts). A little on the pricey side, but WOW, you get what you pay for and no better way to indulge in a perfect steak bbq. Some of the cuts of Japanese Wagyu they sell are: Kobe - A5 Kuromame Nagi - A5 Furano - A5 Miyazaki (Miyazakigyu)- A5 Hokkaido (Tokachi) - A5 Various Regions Of Japan - A4 Plus ~ Australian Wagyu, US Wagyu, Chicken, Berkshire Pork, Wagyu burgers and Wagyu slices for Sukiyaki Hot Pots and more! During 2 of our recent visits we also tried their Double Wagyu Beef Bowl. Thinly sliced pieces of Wagyu seasoned with in store made terriyaki/soy sauce over a bed of steamed rice. Small portion for the cost, but filling and THE most tender beef bowl you will ever try! Not sure about which cut to try, visit their website and you can get detailed info on each cut, you can also stop in and ask or order online. In shop everyone is very warm, friendly and happy to help if you have any questions.

One year later, I'm still obsessed with this spot!…read more This is our go to place whenever we're craving for some charcoal bbq. Since we've been here multiple times already, we're familiar with what cuts of meat we like and no longer have to get their beef meat platter. Also love that they currently have new BBQ dishes that are so good! Lemongrass Dai style beef plate 100/5 - LOVED this. This new BBQ dish was so packed with flavour and has the perfect beef marbling. So good we got this twice! Original Wang Galbi 5/5 - Delicious galbi with bone still on. Garlic Beef Plate 5/5 Sweet Soy Beef Plate 5/5 Qiquihar Special Meat 5/5 - Dish comes with cilantro, green onion and onion. Cold Noodle Soup 5/5 - This is a must get since it's so refreshing with all the BBQ meats. Korean style bibimbap 5/5 - LOVE this - comes with tuna and an assortment of other ingredients to mix together. Overall, I can't emphasize enough how delicious this place is. Their meats are high quality and I love that they're all marinated differently so you can really taste the difference in flavour. DIY sauce bar on the side. Great service as well - servers are always around to get you what you need. Definitely worth checking out for sure!

Location/Service This place is near the Yonge/Finch area (a…read morebit more south of Finch near Empress Walk). It's on the second floor of the building, so it's not hard to miss the sign and location. Parking is available around the block - just make sure you're eligible to park there to avoid any tickets. Inside is pretty big, can probably do big group sizes as well with privated areas. Staff were friendly and nice, and can speak English if you have any questions. Food They do charcoal BBQ kind of setup - so I find that a bit more flavorful compared with gas. Their meat selection is pretty premium - although not AYCE - it can fill you up pretty quickly. The meat gets cooked pretty fast too, cause it does become very hot with the charcoal - so it's better to coordinate with everyone to not overcook the food. There is an AYCE dessert bar on the side, which there's a chocolate fountain and a lot of different fruits or small snacks available, including marshmallows to finish up the meal. This place is always packed - the only thing I wish it would work better is their booking system. Even at 9pm, there were 50 tables ahead of me? That's so crazy!
