The. Best. Will be back, and be back soon. If you're lucky enough to meet Emma your stay will be that much more enjoyable. A fantastic place to stay, so modern and sleek, yet minimalist in a great way. We stayed in Lodge 26, and loved the privacy, bed, fireplace, and the perfect view of Terrace Beach through the Spruce and Firs.

A Snug Harbour Inn - Bathroom of Atlantis room

Definitely a "couples' retreat". Very private room with its own jetted tub and gas fireplace. We…read morestayed in the "designated pets room", not because we had a pet, but because the other rooms were sold out. The tile floors were heated and there were no pet-like smells! Everything was cozy. I loved the warm room and natural light let in by the large skylights. Because it's couple-y, I suppose, there was no phone in the room. When we wanted to book sea kayaking, the owner made the phone call for us. The two rooms labeled "Forest View" are in a building separate from the main one. A storage room is between the two, so it was totally quiet and felt all to ourselves. I really didn't mind not having the Ocean View. We could still hear it, or go out to the common deck or down to the beach. The Great Room where breakfast is served has a wonderful view, and has a telescope for birdwatching. It opens to the deck with a hot tub, and stairs down to the private beach. See photos and descriptions on their very thorough website. They also have winter rates for the storm watch season! Free Wi-Fi in the Great Room (which, I suppose, might reach the rooms in the main building).

However, none of these rivalled the warmth and hospitality of Sue and Drew, the wonderful couple that own and run the establishment - and their funny and social dog, Malcolm. Without them, the Inn would just be another inn. While this is definitely a romantic spot suitable for couples, I visited with a friend and it was just as enjoyable. The Inn is in a super location, private, yet close to the Wild Pacific Trail and within walking distance of the town of Ucluelet and its restaurants and shops. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a getaway in Ucluelet!

A group of us stayed at the Canadian Princess Resort for a long weekend getaway in Ucluelet. Upon…read morearrival, we drove up to the front office to check in and get our room keys. The front desk clerks were very nice. In the lobby, they have a water dispenser which I ended up visiting a few times a day to refill my water bottle. Our room was a family loft upstairs at the end of the resort. We drove one driveway over to park and unload. Not sure if they have accessible options for those unable to take stairs, but the gravel steps from the parking lot to the building were a little treacherous in the rain. Survived, though so all was okay there. The family loft had two queen beds on the main floor with a sink and bathroom. The upper loft area had two twin beds. For our party of five (2 couples and 1 kid under 10), the arrangement was a bit wonky. Ideally, we would have had a split of the queen and twin beds so the parents could be with their child, but it didn't quite work out that way. I wasn't a fan of the shared space having a separate sink from the bathroom. It was a lot of thinking ahead about what I needed to bring in the bathroom with me when showering or dressing. It wouldn't have been as big of a deal if we weren't sharing space with other people, but it took a little extra thought since we were with others. The room had a small TV, a good-sized refrigerator, a small microwave, a Keurig coffee maker, a kettle, 2 mugs, and a handful of disposable cups. The room was on the older side and had a musty smell, but it was clean. The walls and ceilings were pretty thin... I was paranoid about 10 PM quiet time, especially since we had a very energetic kid with us. No one complained though, so that was good. We were worried that our downstairs neighbor's dog would be keeping us up as we kept hearing it bark on the first day, but that turned out to be a non-issue. The view we had was of the harbor and boats with the misty mountains in the background, which was nice. We didn't realize it until after the first day but they weren't doing any housekeeping, so we went down to the office to request for more amenities like fresh towels, more coffee, and more toilet paper. The location was pretty central to town, so that was helpful to get a good walk over to the Wild Pacific Trail for a beautiful, scenic hike (2 miles to get there & back, 2 miles of hiking) and for hitting lunch and dinner spots nearby. Overall, this place was a bargain. The people were very lovely. The rooms could use some upgrades. I'd recommend it if you're looking for a good a value in a central location.
