    Porcini risotto

So so so good. For comparison sake, wolf in the fog (I was told wolf is the best resto in town) is no where near Long Beach's standard. We ordered: - porcini risotto - scallop and pork belly - bison tagliatelle All three dishes were 10/10. I'm very critical usually and I have nothing bad to say. Katherine, our server, was also extremely pleasant. Super flavors, super staff, no airs of pretentiousness. The lodge is polished and yes expensive, but you get what you pay for. This is worth the $, and you will be happier here than at wolf (which will run you the same $). Would recommend, strongly. Thanks for a great meal. We unfortunately couldn't get an Xmas reso because you were all booked, but if you want to have us back, we'd be glad! (If anyone at Long Beach is reading this, feel free to reach out XD)

Good but not great. We stayed in a cottage for 7 nights. Lots of things i really liked: BBQs are excellent. Surfboard storage near beach. Large, private cottage. Hot tubs are nice. Stuff I found underwhelming: Not that clean. I found someone's inhaler under the bed. Fridge was busted. It was cranked to max cold, but ice cream melted. They obviously know but don't care. Finish: a hole in wall patched with poly filla but left unrepaired. Staff: kinda friendly, but some moments that made me wonder- went in the surf shop, staff too busy talking with friends to say hello, not one word said until we left. Service in Greatroom was OK, but i felt much friendlier vibes at the Tacofino taco truck. Outdoor Fireplaces: they wouldnt turn them on..said they are only for summer. I guess all those chairs are only for summer? Restaurant: we ate in the Greatoom once. Lovely room. Food was questionable. Sablefish for 36$ was a nice piece of fish on a pile of curry lentils with brocolini and kale. On a dark blue plate. Most underwhelming and uninspired chef cooked meal i think ive ever had. And visually a dark blob. The best thing about the wood oven fired pizzas was the beer. Either the oven wasnt hot enough to make the dough bubble and sear, or a bad recipe. The calabrese was overly salty. Very salty olives and salty meat. The other one had an arugula sauce. I'm all for experiments, but this was.a flop..with all the good things they could have made, it's a real wonder. I would check out Pacific Sands or Cox Bay Beach Resort next time. LBLR is a little pricey for what you get, its clear room rates reflect an underperforming restaurant.

Wonderful staff and experience. We booked an elopememt package with them and they took care of all the details: the commissioner, florist, ceremony, dinner and 3 tier cake. They even surprised us with a complimentary bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries and rose petals covered bed. Located right on the beach with access to surfboard rentals and all that you need for a wonderful stay. Food at their restaurant in the Great room were delicious.

The 1st time we came to this restaurant was through recommendation for stormwatching in winter season. It was nice and very comfy. We ordered the mussel and bison burger and it was great. We came for the 2nd in June. The atmosphere of the restaurant was still nice and cozy. The staff are friendly and nice. We came for lunch and ordered the mussel...again and trio sliders (beef, halibut, and oysters), both dishes came with fries. The mussel used to be served with toasted bread but it came with fries this time. I prefer bread to fries with the mussel. I highly recommend this restaurant whenever you are visiting Tofino and Ucluelet area. The food are great, friendly staff, and the price is just about right. Hint: if you want to go the Long beach behind the hotel you can ask the staff for beach access. Just tell them you came from the restaurant and want to check the beach. They will let you go through and you can get free parking instead of paid parking at general area nearby ;)

After a long day in the Pacific Rim National Park, my wife and I decided a few happy hour drinks were warranted. At 5PM sharp, we arrived at the lodge's beautiful Great Room where $4 ginger beer, lime and syrup cocktails are featured. We started off with Moscow mules that were served in tall cocktail glasses rather than the traditional copper cups. For the second round she chose a grey ghost (macadamia nut liquor, drambuie) while I tried a twin fin (Sailor Jack spiced rum, peach brandy). Though the setting was gorgeous, the price right and the service good, the drinks were only fair because each tasted like ginger beer.

Heavenly. Don't miss out on: an ocean front room (with a fireplace & bath tub for two overlooking the ocean), having breakfast & dinner in the lodge overlooking the ocean & watching the sunrise/set, long lingering walks along the bay. Continental breakfast buffet was included, which had deliciously strong coffee. We brought our own bottles of wine to sip while watching the waves roll in with the surfers. It is a small fortune, but make sure to eat in the lodge at least once for dinner because of the view, but also don't miss going into Tofino for meals or stopping at a cantina along the Pacific Rim highway.

This place is the BEST. We got a cabin and it was beautiful. There was 2 bed and 2 bath and the upstairs was like a private suite. There are just two thing 1 it is PRICEY $$$. The other thing is that it doesn't have the national geographic channel. Overall awesome. Ps. Sorry for bad pics

Rented a pet friendly cabin for three nights with a friend. It was lovely - all the mod cons including a hot tub on the deck for your personal use. As long as your neighbors are cooperative, it is a peaceful getaway. The downside of the personal hot tub is when neighbors arrive and proceed to "maximize the recreation potential" of said hot tub til 4 AM. Then that $500 per night cabin starts to feel a little steep. Beach is beautiful, as is the lodge overlooking the bay. Next time I would leave the pup at home and opt for a top floor ocean-facing suite, far from the cabin and hot tub revelerie.

We had lunch at the restaurant. I loved the view more than the food, which was expensive. My daughter had seafood chowder - she enjoyed it. She had a turkey sandwich (turkey cooked inhouse - but a bit dry.) It came with a mixed green salad including something that tasted faintly minty and 4 sprigs of parsley mixed in (never seen this before). Very interesting-in a good way. I had a watery ginger carrot soup - more of a broth than soup. Followed up with fish and chips - the halibut was fresh. I couldn't really taste the beer in the beer batter. The tartar sauce was tasty. Service was attentive.

We tried to make plans in 2024 for their offered 4-day Christmas special (room, tree in room, ornaments for tree in room, breakfasts and Christmas Day dinner) but by mid 2024 the rooms for that time period were booked. Waited to early 2025 this time and were excited to get into a fantastic Deluxe room king size bed on the third floor of the Pointe Building. So, where to begin with all the many amenities, attentive staff and management interactions! Room was a very clean rustic appeal and looked right over surf below. Meals in the circular area were all fantastic choices, the drinks enjoyable. They provided water waders and raincoats so we were able to walk on the beach next to the Inn and that was an amazing experience for us. Huge wide beach that went on for miles. Sand was hard-packed so really no issue of getting stuck. Our weather was accommodating so not much rain and great walking time. But when not traveling a bit along the coast the room was a great respite and relaxing experience. While winter is normally a rougher time to travel to Tofino, I can imagine it is wonderful to go there in the other seasons as well. Next visit perhaps Autumn!

They are also the perfect options for a family trip with kiddos. Rent one of 30+ cabin or tree houses for a week and you'll never want to go back home! This resort has the most amazing staff, they are always smiling and offering to help in anyway they can, whether it's a text to see if you require anything, to opening the door when you've got your hands full! Their property is fully equipped with a playground with tons of fun wooden structures that the kids will love and get hours of play from. Perfectly located steps from the beach and a hop, skip and a jump to town. In their office they have DVD's, board games, coffee, tea, an adorable herb garden just outside the doors and a social area. They even have a box of toys and beach gear for the kids to play with! Our log cabin was amazing! We were stunned how everything was included in the stay as well. In our private secluded cabin we had a cozy outdoor area to enjoy breakfast and a good book. We had our own BBQ which comes with all the tools you'll need to whip up an amazing BBQ dinner. Our very own private hot tub, we took full advantage of that! It had all the bells and whistles and was the perfect night cap to a great day. Inside we had a massive fireplace with all the wood you require to keep your cabin as warm and cozy as you'd like, we only put one log on and it lasted all night long. Not to mention the rooms were already warm with in-floor heating that kept our toes warm! The shower is beautiful and fits 2 for sure, felt like a rainforest! The bed was massive and super comfy. I love how they have a full kitchen, it literally includes every single kitchen tool and gadget that you might need to cooking, baking, roasting, BBQ'ing, shall I go on? They even have a Cabin Stocking Program where you leave it to them to stock your cabin so you arrive with groceries and everything you need to settle in! I haven't been to a resort that literally thinks of everything! Missing something? They will ensure it's on your doorstep asap! There is so much to see and do on your vacation to Tofino, but you'll definitely want to set some time aside for perusing around the hotel grounds or just enjoy a cup of coffee on your balcony and enjoy the sweet sounds of the crashing waves and the smell of fresh air. The grounds are well kept with beautiful flowers and not too much clutter to distract from the natural views. You're only steps away from all the outdoor adventures your heart desires, from paddle boarding and kayaking, to hot springs, fishing and hiking. Bonus, they are pet-friendly and also offer up to 60 private RV spots! Don't have an RV?They have 9 Glamping RV's you can rent as well! It's crazy because there was a vehicle in each spot but I didn't seem many people around, we were truly secluded in our private little nook which nice for a change!

Tofino Resort & Marina has a beautiful website that really sells you on the property. It is not as much a resort as it is a group of three associated businesses. The buildings are exterior entry older construction, which has somewhat been updated. We ended up with a first floor room. It faced the water and sort of had a view from outside. We weren't expecting a view so this was fine. The unit had a separate living and sleeping room, which was nice and gave plenty of room for all our gear. There was even a spot outside to hang your wet gear and plenty of room for shoes and what not. The walls featured beautiful photos and the white on white look was nice. But, overall the rooms were just not very cozy. Tofino is in a level three drought so we skipped showering since we were only there two nights. We did enjoy dinner at shelter both evenings. We didn't get to experience the adventure center because we arrived late on day 1 and their hot springs excursion was booked up the full day we were in town. They do have a variety of interesting looking excursions though! We liked that the location was walkable to town. We also walked down to Tofino brewing one afternoon. It would be awesome if they added a rental bike fleet to their offerings so you could just park your car and easily get around to the further flung places. I would maybe stay here again as I thought the price was resonable-ish for the area. The hotel itself felt very mid-- not great, not bad.

There's a little deck area in front with two chairs if you want to hang out. I like the nice design touches on the furniture/hooks, it all felt very fresh and modern. The kayak tour was great too, esp since we could just walk across to the marina. As hotel guests, you get 10% off. Our guides were Johanna and Kali, who were both great. They gave great recs, we're knowledgable, and made sure we were all safe. I'm glad we could explore more protected water rather than fight the open sea winds. Overall would recommend this hotel and the kayaking tour! I only wish we could've stayed longer!

Issue: We were told on check in that the specific disabled room we arranged for in person 4 months earlier was already occupied, and we were assigned a room in a construction zone. On returning to check in, we were told that our original room WAS available . HOWEVER per my banking app, we were charged for Both Rooms! I complained to the desk and told no manager was there. I came back the next day to talk to the manager about the SNAFU but was handed a reversal document and told it would take 5-7 days to show up at my bank. No Apology. No Manager access. They acted like it was not unusual. Buyer Beware! Nice Place, nice room, easy to navigate to beach, beautiful view, good restaurant (Browns) But...poor staff training at front desk, by manager who ignores opportunity to apologize to customer for checkin FOBAR. ALL other employees at facility and Browns were superb.

I'd like to write a glowing review but the wifi is like a time machine to 1997 using a 14,4 modem -…read moreso I'll just write this tip, cos I keep getting knocked off before I can post the review... Gorgeous hotel - the internet is just a nightmare. That being said... It's three days after I got back home and I don't know of any place in Tofino or the end of the road here that has decent wifi. so.... Perhaps you (and me) need to turn off the wifi, close the laptop and shut down the droid or iOS device and enjoy the gorgeous room, sip wine and chat, before or after walking on the beach at Cox Bay. So screw my tip at the top and come here pronto. I love this resort. g

This was extremely handy! - Heated floors in the washroom. - Even though it was a shower/tub combo, the tub was awesome. These kind of tubs are usually awful, but this one was great. We want one at our house now! - Full kitchen. Cons: - The wifi is beyond slow. Not only is it slow, but it didn't work in the bedroom. The only spot it would work is in the living room. If you are going there and plan on not using the Wifi this won't be an issue, but if you need the Internet for anything (netflix, email, ect.) this WILL be a problem. - The parking. We had to park at the end of the lot each night and it was pretty far from our room. Wish it had parking outside of each suite like some other hotels, or at least get rid of the huge circle driveway that's sitting there taking up valuable space. Overall it is a nice hotel on the beach for a reasonable price. Wish they would update their Internet (maybe invest in some new routers that have a better range?), but we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

How many ways can one "resort" disappoint over one weekend? Let's count together…read more 1- On check-in day my spouse stepped in a dog turd within 30 ft of the lobby, (great start), this could be bad dog owners, or lack of grounds staff keeping the place clean; but when we checked out 48hrs later and it was still there, that's clearly the resorts fault. 2- when we arrived we were unable to check in before 4:30, and could not get a late checkout even just for 11:00, no flexibility at all. It was pretty clear that the issue is not enough house keeping staff and zero communication with the few people they have. 3- there's a bar/bbq joint on the premises, ok, they have live music 6:30-8:30, ok. Thing is the music is way too loud, despite paying customers asking to have it turned down and the live music didn't actually stop till will almost 10, after which the music continues. No joke, the music was so loud the windows at our cabin were shaking. 4-there's no security, at all. During our stay some guy was going through tents, scaring folks and causing havoc. When somebody tried to report it, the front desk was closed and everybody was gone home. The only person working was the barista that was cleaning up. Thank goodness that person tried to help, but there was nothing to do but call the police because there is no security. 5-Parking. Get back from a day at the beach and somebody is parked in our assigned spot. Every person at the resort gave us the same BS answer, it happens all the time. Which translates to: we've known about the problem forever, but don't care enough to do anything about it. 6- trying our best to have a good time through this disaster of a stay lounging in the hot tub despite the too loud music from the bar, some drunk comes and pees right in front of our balcony cause he's too lazy and again... no security. 7- all this and having to pay over a thousand for two nights is just un believable. I think that's enough disappointment for one review. I'm never going back and neither should you.

We camped over Labour Day weekend and had a great time, but the facility was only so-so…read more Pros: The campsite is located right in front of the beach, and has bright and clean bathrooms/showers. Cons: The owners way oversold the property for this weekend. Our tent was crammed into a space that should reasonably have accommodated maybe 3-4 campsites, but had probably 15-20 tents on it. That means everything you own is covered in soot from your neighbor's fire, people are constantly trampling through your space, competing music genres blasting from various speakers, and you get woken up at night by partiers trying to find their tents, and early risers in the morning. There is also garbage everywhere (although they do a really good job of going around with bags and picking it up every day), and the kitchen washing area was pretty gross (one sink only). Overall, this place is good if you don't minding spending a small fortune on camping, really want to be near the beach, and don't mind being packed in like sardines. If you're looking for a relaxing time to get back to nature, this is not the place for you.
