(Never saying who or where, but that there are months long wait lists.) She prescribed a medication that can induce mania. When they returned stating they still felt agitated, she doubled the dosage. After she increased the dose, I was able to help them find a neuropsychologist who diagnosed them as bipolar and recognized symptoms of mania, explaining they would be willing to reach out to their prescriber. After receiving diagnosis, patient called to explain, elaborating that they currently have symptoms of mania and wanted to get in touch with Veronica. The office staff said they would have her call back. Several hours later, the front office called saying Veronica was busy but stated she would not be making any med changes until the full report was released (when it was explained it would be a couple of weeks) and asked the patient to schedule with her TEN DAYS LATER. Not only did she prescribe a medication that can worsen their condition, but she doubled it and didn't even have a nurse call for a quick assessment when it was explained they were experiencing symptoms. Family member was honest about their history including substance use, self destructive behaviors, etc. Veronica does not care for her patients' safety or wellbeing.

However, the office and automated system they are using is unacceptable. The phone is never answered by a live person. Ever. It is only leaving voicemails and text messages as a response. After years of problems, I finally voiced a complaint and was met with a sassy text message once again denying accountability. This is after many times going without my medication and several incidents including charging me out of pocket for the full cost of my appointments for weeks without notifying me that my insurance was no longer accepted. When I attempted to ask for accountability I was blamed as well as blame shifting to MassHealth. I ended up after trying to fight it for weeks on end, paying in full. I was told it was easy and simple, just get compensated by my insurance. I fought them for weeks and over a year later still have not been compensated. The other positive reviews are very old, the company must have changed a lot. Not only is the office incompetent and rude, but there is only street parking. If you can find another option, I highly recommend going elsewhere.

The reviews for this place can be summed up from everyone that ever told me after i went there as Sodom of health care. Completely horrible do not take your loved one here ever! I was told to come here from a Therapist who saw me for only half an hour at the 64 building (Integrated Counseling Centers, Inc Industrial Park Road). I was told i needed a higher level of help from another therapist. Which to this day my current therapist cannot even understand. I went to South shore about half a year ago. The place looks big enough but as i entered there was a small room with a few waiting chairs and a small window to announce yourself. well nobody was at the window so i could say i was there for my appointment. Couldn't see anyone at all for about 10-15 minutes. Someone eventually showed up, a young girl that had on a tshirt and jeans asking "you are" instead of "may i help you". I announced myself and she said "k" and walked away. Another 10 minutes later she came back and said " Heres papers and she'll be down in 5 minutes". Well almost 20 minutes later a woman appeared wearing brown sandals with tassels , with a very dirty brown shirt, huge beaded necklace and unkempt hair, smelling a little on the rank side. There was absolutely no professional dress code apparently here. She asked myself and my mother who came with me to come with her. On the papers i was given before the woman showed up where about 20 pages of information. I noticed nothing about mental questions but rather when eating times were and group meeting times.? Nothing about psychiatric questions or well anything therapy wise. Ongoing to her office there were tons of people inside already and she told them all to leave, 5 minutes later.... she sat us down and started talking for about 4-6 minutes about how the "program" works. When group sessions where and what time of the day to go. We stopped her and asked what was this all about as we had no idea what was going on. I just needed to see a therapist thats it. realizing i wasnt there for what i was supposed to be there for, we asked what information she received from the Integrated counseling centers. She said the therapist said we where to go threw a program. Which i responded to that was not even in the slightest was we talked about. The discussion went on for quite a while she asked me questions about my life after that etc, but would not once stop talking about the group sessions. saying things like " I dont want to pressure you (then asked me at least 10 times to do group sessions", " ive had 3 other people in this week that didnt want to do this and i didnt even care just moved on. etc very unprofessional, she kept stating that this was a business but wanted no pressure towards me. kept playing on her Iphone and not listening. People kept coming into the room and asking tons of questions during the meeting, she even left a few times 5- 10 minutes at a time. she asked about who i lived with and kept going off topic. also stating she didnt care what happened during the meeting because she was leaving in a week. After i politely declined i went home, a week later i got a man that showed up at my door from DSS. Are you kidding me? I was told an investigation was to take place because South Shore had called them on me saying my younger brother was at risk because i may have really bad mental issues. Funny thing is the woman was already gone from south shore but many more incompetent people from south shore kept digging themselves a deeper hole. DSS could not verify anything they had to look up because none of what South shore made any sense to them. so they had to ask me about it, The man literally stated upon first meeting him that he had no idea about the case because it made very little sense what south shore told them. I explained what happened there and the man understood. Apparently though South shore after the girl had left, wouldnt get into contact with dss and that Dss was now not speaking to her but a 3rd generation person within the company that had no idea what happened. what was said about me was proven 100% not true, and i mean everything. I cannot beleive the careless people at south shore , from the way they present themselves to fraudulent claims to DSS. It was very scary for my family and alli wanted was a regular therapist. who i have now and states that i never needed to go there and that never should have happened. South Shore is again a horrible place. DSS even knows that the therapists they do have there are very unhappy with their jobs (look it up online there are tons of them) underpaid and alot under qualified. They have a turn over rate of about 4 months with therapists / psychologists etc. So you never keep the same person helping you. STAY AWAY!!!

I was told the day I went, that it would be our last appointment, and I could no longer get services through anyone else. Having severe bipolar, amongst severe mental health diagnoses, it sent me into a mental breakdown, and things happened very quickly, and very badly. Things happened at BID that I barely even remember to this very day. The things I do remember will haunt me forever. It never should have went down the way it did. It was very unprofessional on Julie's part for how she handled a lot of people's emotions, and how she treated her staff. I feel bad for everyone who ever came in contact with her, or that place. Now they charge $140 for a missed appointment. I loved both of my therapists (Kristine and Colin) but had to leave because of Dr Johnson's missed appointment policy. The people who go to this center have mental health issues and many of them are forgetful (like me) or their condition results in missed appointments through no fault of their own. On top of all this, the office staff is VERY rude. If you can, find another mental health center to go to.

I've driven by this location many times in 2018 and 2019, used to have a packed parking lot out front. Now I rarely see anything. Had seen a therapist a few times in 2012 and 2013. I got the run around... therapist cancelled appointment on me by not showing up for my appointment. And this has happened to another one or two people in the past there that I've known via South Bay Mental Health outpatient services. Not surprised to see other review in 2017 about this place. Most people don't want to work there and it shows. Too bad their lack of caring hasn't been improved upon. She was assigned a woman that had just started working there. the woman was said to be able to help my daughter with her trauma and she did not help her. she told her we all have trauma and to get over it and that my daughter did not have PTSD or anything.. everyone has anxiety. which is true, we all have experienced it at some point in our lives. but to live with it day in and day out. its not ok. especially for a child. after the meeting my daughter was referred to a out patient service which it was made very clear what the rules were in my home. And once the therapeutic mentor showed up, and whether it was taken the wrong way or not, there was clear boundary of where anyone could go in my home. and the therapeutic mentor from the way i took it was telling my daughter she could help her with something in the area of our home that was off limits. I personally got up set for a second and asked the mentor to leave my home. then i thought about it thinking she did not know and then i just explained to her why no one was allowed in the area.. so all was forgiven and everyone left. then they called to say they no longer could see my daughter that her problems were to much. I am so sorry that my daughter has a long history of trauma .. that is the job of these people. they are suppose to help people with mental health problems. the only way the therapist in the office would see her again is if she was in school or got a job. (she cant with out a therapist) for at least 2 years and a car.. there was one more thing she said my daughter had to do.. i can not remember what it was. These places only want to see you if you are up set you got a "F" on your test, or your boyfriend broke up with you.. my daughter needs real help, help from someone that can actually help her. If you or a family member has a problem and think that Bayview here or Plymouth can help you.. please beware.. it does not work. they will bill for the block of visits and only see you one or two times and dump you if there is something really wrong. Back to looking for help for my daughter to wait another year before i can get someone to see her.. gotta love how she has to go without treatment because no one there is trained to help her. thank you!
