Grew up in the industry and have been club hopping around California for the last 15+ years. ("clubs" is what us bay people refer to as a dispensaries) When i moved to san diego, i was stunned with how far I would have to drive to pick up some local live resin, while also realizing looking for ice wax around here was out of the questions Even down town, it's incredibly hard to find good quality hash. Once cake house finally open, not only was I beyond grateful to finally have a spot to pick up in my city but it also had all of my homies extracts from back home!! Prices are absurd even with the discounts they offer. Check dates because most of their products are over a year old. It's clear their inventory is messed up because the same brand has very old and new items. $70 for 4 pre rolls that had a discount is crazy. read more

The service here is awful. The hours plainly state that they close at 9. It shows that time everywhere online. I showed up at 8:51 and they closed the doors in my face. Liars. I bought 3 products for amount $100 to relieve pain. NONE of them helped. Not one. When I explained this to the manager and asked for credit or a refund, she said everyone is different. I never had issues until my last visit when the security guard at the front desk decided to take my drivers license. He suspected it was fake and when I told him that I had my dog waiting on n the car he told me that I would still have to wait for the police to show up. They waisted hours of my time to find out that my drivers license was real. The manager had no sympathy and could not have been less rude during the encounter. This is the worst dispensary I've ever been to all their products are organized by brand, and not by what they are, i.e. flour, wax, pre-roll, the staff has no idea what deals are going on very unhelpful stay behind the counter and stare at you. Usually come visit the store in person, tried using their delivery option today. Not great...Got a quick response back saying that my order was received and on the way, waited 2+ hours to receive it, then I get a call from the store saying they just received my order asking if I'd still like it to be delivered (um yes?), then they inform me I can only pay cash even though I selected the debit option. Honestly, who has cash just laying around the house in 2024? I chose debit for a reason. All around really annoyed with this experience. Had I known they were about to waste 3 hours of my time I would have just drove over to the store and handled it myself, but delivery did sound nice. Wildly unprofessional and seriously disappointing. Can't be trusted. Also, the storefront has been out of everything good the past 2 times I've been in. read more

Casual vibe as far as dispensary go. No barriers between you and goods, as many spots have. Easy to navigate if you know what you're looking for, and with helpful staff if you do not. We were in and out in 10 minutes, so show up earlier than right before closing. Regular deals unexpected plus for a traveling patron. Will come back if we return to the area. read more

Pricing is/ felt ~$10 more than the vista location which is a little disappointing. The service is good but quick and the recommendations I received were alright. Well, the reviews are a bit confusing for those who have not yet stopped in the store. Personally, my experience has been stellar! Not only is the staff easy and very helpful, but I find their selection of top of the line, clean, varied options to be quire remarkable for the space available to them. Been in shops two to three times the size who haven't nearly the variety of top notch clean options. Also, a shout out especially to Ya-Ya!! She has been not only great with information, but patient, thoughtful (actually thinks about what she is going to recommend depending on customer desires) and consistently cheerful without going overboard. My feeling is that these reviews aren't truly that accurate as the shop is always hopping, the energy from security on into the store is upbeat and low key...I think lots of people simply don't write reviews. I never have for a dispensary and I am old! Had two knee replacements, two back surgeries, arthritis (hahaha....geeez...) and if it weren't for dedicated shops and options I would never sleep or go for 6 mile walks. The cbd, cbn, cbg...lots available. I've met a couple of customers who go solely for options to help with sleep or pain...not just about thc options. Thanks Cake House! And thanks again to Ya-Ya! I purchased 2 top shelf 1/8 's for $58.00 ea $135.00 out the door.I couldn't see anything in the sealed jars (blacked out) I opened them a half hour later and they both are brownish gold . They appear to be old or jarred moist. I won't smoke this stuff and tried talking to them about it .they told me it's fine and to contact the company... I usually order for Delivery but live near this Dispensary so I decided to check it out. WOW. I am so impressed. Prices are very competitive, discounts and First timers big discounts, excellent selection and BEST OF ALL, not only well educated bud tenders and staff but patient, ,kind and understanding. I had an issue with a product, a vape that wasn't working. They bent over backwards to help me. It turned out it was not from their dispensary or they would have immediately made good. It was purchased from the one down the street, Siesta Life. On the west side of 101, a few blocks south. I do not recommend them. The man who runs the cash register was there both times I have been in the dispensary. To say the least, the cannabis is not making him happy. Both times he was rude, short tempered, and adamant about not allowing a return or exchange for an item that did not work. He pointed to a 2"x3" plaque on the wall that said No returns or Exchanges. Who would see that? And with a New broken product. Just sayin. I'd find my way to CAKE HOUSE, easy parking behind the store, very smooth experience. read more

I usually love the vista location for cake house but i wanted to use my first time discount at the new store in encinitas. Drove about 30 minutes just to hear their security say they don't accept medical mj patients? I've been to 30+ dispensaries in southern california and never heard of that but alright. just sort of annoyed they had their online ordering terminal accepting medical orders and on weed-maps even said the store is open to medical and recreational patients (it still says it as of right now). I am not mad at the staff or anything, Just wish the communication was a bit better as I've now wasted 30 minutes of time and gas money which could have simply been avoided with them having a note saying they don't accept medical patients. The store was gorgeous however, (from what i could see) unfortunate i couldn't shop though. read more
