Ashley at The Cakery was amazing to work with. We opted for a dessert table and a small sweetheart cake for our wedding and it was all beyond delicious! Whenever I have a special occasion or am charged with "bring a dessert" I love going to The Cakery. They have a wide variety of cakes, cupcakes, cookies, bars, cake pops, and cake balls. Their bakers are real artists who will work with you to create the perfect cake (cookie or traditional) that are as pretty to look at as they are to eat. It's tucked away in a shopping plaza so it can be easy to miss. It's worth the trip. My personal favorites: their bars (cheesecake, brookies) and cake balls (cookie dough is fabulous). Splendid customer service! I did not have the chance to try them unfortunately- i got 2 dozen assorted sent to my friend who had a child. They took my order, wrote a note for the delivery and set up a drop off time. Superb organization skills! Literally called/messaged 7-10 bakeries in New Windsor, Newburgh, and Beacon and this was the only one that delivered to Newburgh. My friend and their family said the cupcakes were fantastic and they are going get another 2 dozens lol. My one complaint is the delivery fee was not cheap. 25 dollars for delivery which is even too expensive for this NYCer. read more

The cake pops are incredible! I've had cake pops before and thought it was just a pricey gimmick. But not only were The Cakery's cake pops beautifully decorated, each one was absolutely delicious. They are slightly different than cake: dense but velvety, filling, and in a wide assortment of wonderful flavors. Even vanilla knocked our socks off. I reached out to Ashley in a panic and she fit me in no problem at a WAY better price than I was told by the other bakery. Not only was she incredibly sweet and professional, she made the most incredible replica of my husbands car for his birthday. On top of that, everyone said it was the best cake they'd ever tasted. They ruined my wedding cake. After I did the tasting - I sent them the photo of the cake we talked about along with color swatch I wanted my cake. When it arrived on my wedding day, it looked nothing like the photo. They never followed up before my wedding day - I realize now that I should have but I had a million things to do as most brides do right before their wedding. The cake showed up with WHITE flowers/roses instead of multi color pink Roses and it was like they didn't even try to match the color I wanted with the color swatch for the rest of the cake. They left with the cake to "fix it" and came back with the same cake after they spray painted the flowers (which looked terrible by the way) and they were now loose and falling off. One of my guests had to pick up one of the flowers and put it back on. Plus, Taste wise - it was just okay compared to what I remember from the tasting. Nothing memorable. I complained and received a $25 Credit but on a $400 wedding cake - that doesn't do much. Once a wedding cake is ruined and not as you imagine it - the day is over and there's really no fixing it. read more

I got a cake for my boyfriends 30th birthday. When I went there, I wasn't entirely impressed with the attitude of the girl I was talking to. Didn't seem enthusiastic and made it seem like I was wasting her time. I really tried to let her take as much of her creative spin on the cake as she could, but it didn't seem like she was working with me much. I figured, she's the cake artist, not me, I'll tell her what I'm looking for and she can create the masterpiece! We came to a price of $140 which I thought was a bit much but I figured for the occasion and the piece I thought I would get, it would be more than worth it. The cake was 100% disappointing. I could've done a better job myself or maybe even a 5 year old. The cake looked very rushed and thrown together and not at ALL what I imagined. I was so disappointed in this establishment as I expected my expectations to be met beyond what I could imagine. The "30" they put on the cake looks like they colored it with crayons markers. I am super duper picky when it comes to cakes. My standards are so high. I want a moist cake, a flavorful filling, a perfect icing and a beautiful exterior. If it's buttercream, it shouldn't taste like crisco. If it's decorated, it shouldn't look like a mess. This place gets a 9 out of 10. I ordered 2 cakes, one chocolate with an amazing raspberry filling and one almond cake. The almond cake was aaaaamazing. The chocolate cake had too much buttercream icing and not enough raspberry filling. The ratio was off enough that we stopped eating leftovers. The almond cake though, that's worth the 3 hour drive to get some more. Super good! And the presentation of both was impressive read more

They are so creative in how they can make your dream of a cake come true. OH - and its all so friggin delicious! You wouldn't think that a cool looking sugar cookie or 4 tier fondant cake could taste remotely yummy, but they do. Moist and flavorful. All things baked here are to DIE for.
