I came in to try this tucked away treasure I drive by often. I got a cannoli cream cake cup and a chocolate almond strawberry bar. The cup has very moist cake, not dried out, cannoli filling was very creamy and pretty generously layered at least four times in the cup. The bar was very light and sweet, never had a chocolate bar that was not heavy, wish there was a bit more of strawberry filling, that was perfect, also loved the chopped almonds on top. New local bakery alert! In town visiting the parents and they mention a craving for something sweet. I decided to do a quick search to see if options have improved since a lot of the shops around here are only open 3-4/week. Calculated Confections popped up as being recently opened. The interior is clean with a small seating area. The owner came out to greet me and shared that she was working in the finance industry for 20 years before deciding to branch out and start her own business, hence the name Calculated Confections. Every day she posts a math problem on the blackboard and awards a baked goodie to the first few customers who can solve the equation. She had a nice selection of brownies with or without nuts, g-free and egg free chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal cookies, scones, rolls, cupcakes, cheesecakes, cannolis, and cake slices. My parents split the chocolate cake while I had the red velvet cupcake and a chocolate chip cookie that I won from solving the math problem. They liked how the cake wasn't too sweet and was moist. The cookie was very good and the icing on the red velvet was good but the actual cupcake was missing something - it was still good, just lacking that classic red velvet flavor. I highly recommend this place. It's right on 52 and just a short walk to the rail trail entrance. I'll definitely be back to try the cafe menu. read more

I had a great experience ordering a birthday cake from this family owned shop, and once I stopped in to pick up the cake, I had to help myself to some cupcakes too. I called looking for a same day turnaround knowing it might not be feasible. The owner who answered was kind and helpful, and she notified me that she could have the cake ready in about three hours. The gluten free cake I ordered one of the best cakes I've ever tasted (with or without gluten!) and the frosting was light, delicious and not too sweet. My experience at Calculated Confections was 5+ stars- I can't wait to go back soon! read more

I needed a specialty cake pretty last minute (called on a Friday needed to pick up first thing Sunday morning). Not only did Calculated Confections some through in time- but the German Chocolate Cake was SO DELICIOUS. Mouthwateringly good! It was to celebrate my grandfathers 98th birthday and he was so pleased and satisfied. I should also mention that the owner is so friendly!! Picture 1 (Color White) - was the cake I ordered, asked multiple times can you do this exactly how it's shown in the picture * only different color change and both father and daughter "Yes, yes.!" Picture 2 (Color Pink) - was the result of their "Yes, yes". Had I known the quality would be so low I wouldn't have even gone there. I added red roses to make it look decent. The cake rotted in 1 day, how's that for quality? Disgusting! Absolutely disgusting! I've ordered cakes every year for past 20 year and never once that happen, absolutely disgusting. I cannot say enough about this sweet baker and bakery. I knew that someone started a bakery but hadn't had a chance to stop in. I finally made a point to stop in last weekend and I could not be happier. We ordered a few cupcakes and she brought them out to the car due to the pandemic. They were delicious!!! They were much larger than a normal cupcake, moist, with light and airy frosting. Since we have two birthdays in the house this weekend we ordered a couple of cakes. They were amazing! We had her homemade scones & cupcakes since she opened so my husband wanted to order a Tiramisu cake for his birthday. The owner said she never made one before but would give it a try. We were game. We LOVE "homemade" over store bought, especially for desserts. On pick-up it looked PERFECT. When I sliced into it, it was like slicing French butter with a warm bread knife. Taste?! Off the chart delicious. Unbelievable!!! Best Tiramasu we ever had. Over the top melt in your mouth savory, not too sweet, super creamy ... just the right amount of every ingredient.
