His customer service was really friendly, professional and he is really knowledgeable about how to use equipment. Specifically he helped me to counsel about improving my range of motion on my lat pulldown. Through Francisco's leadership I was able to get my lat pull down up to pulling 240lbs for 7 reps. A first for me and an accomplishment giving I weigh 170lbs. Francisco fast tracked me for success by suggesting mechanical drop sets to challenge my biceps and mid/upper back. I would also like to recognize rep Ryan for his encouragement when I'm did a heavy chest day. Through his counsel I was able to start incorporating drop sets and rest pause into my routine. He also encouraged me to take my sets to complete failure to facilitate maximum hypertrophy growth. With his advice I was able to start filling my chest out in my tee shirts for a more fuller physique. Ryan is a very friendly person and has a very positive attitude. His customer service skills are top marks as he makes training simple without complicating gym routines. The third individual I do not know there name. But they recently sold me a one month gym pass around November 17, 2025. I had taken a couple of months off from the gym to recharge because I had been training mostly for about 5 yrs straight almost non stop. When I got in I was really lethargic and on the fence if I wanted to go fully back into the routine of training for gains and rebuilding my body from the ground up. This person gave me encouragement and the push that I needed to turn my mental attitude into a positive push. This is an example of leadership and encouraging others when it's needed. Cause I wasn't looking forward going through the lactic acid DOMS portion of training especially on a leg day. These 3 individuals should be commended for there individual skills and expertise that they bring to the table 1.) Francisco's friendly attitude and knowledge of training techniques improved the growth and width of my back. Friendly advice on improving my form when I train. Customer service skills that will provide him long term career growth. 2.) Ryan's encouragement of going to total failure and not being afraid of it. This shows leadership qualities and what he's capable of when he sees people train at curl fitness. His kind and very approachable personality. 3.) Third individual displayed leadership quality's by keeping me engaged at trying to progressively overload my training set by set, customer service skills and giving kind advice on how to navigate the lactic DOMS phase. The main reason I recommend these individuals is because I have been a type 1 diabetic now for 12 yrs. These individuals helped me with training which helps me navigate to improve the outcome of controlling my diabetes for better outcomes and a much healthier life. Pls give them some recognition

Today I was working out on a machine with my trainer when some crackhead bro with tats up to his neck and a napoleon complex told my trainer "Can you move your shit" because he wanted to use the machine we were already using (and we were just in between reps). When we politely indicated the machine was not available, he kept pushing on when we would be done, indicating he was "going to do lots of reps". Then he proceeded to stomp off... when he came back he made a big show of "asking permission to use the machine ". I was on another machine and then he proceeded to take the weights off my machine, jiggling it while I was mid-rep, all while continuing to mutter at us. It was not worth engaging- he seemed mentally unstable and looking for an argument - and also looked like he might throw a heavy plate at someone due to anger issues. This behavior is unwarranted uncharacteristic of the expected clientele - this is Yorba Linda, not Huntington Beach.

You get the group fitness atmosphere and motivation, which I love, but also the attention of personal training because the groups are small, and the coaches are very attentive. The group classes are at most 8 people, so it's never too crowded and there is plenty of equipment to go around. Plus you get inspiration and motivation from the people working out around you. The owner Edgar designs the workout programs to run for 4-6. So you will be doing the same exact exercises each week until the program changes. This gives you the ability to track your progress and make improvements throughout the program. This is very different compared to other group fitness class I've done, which change the workouts each week, and there isn't as much structure or emphasis on tracking your lifts. Funktional fitness is great for anyone wanting to improve their physical fitness. It's great for the beginner and for the advanced lifter. The coaches are very knowledgeable and patient, but they will also challenge you. They have helped me out so much with my form on my lifts and given me cues that have really stuck for me. I've only been working out at Funktional for about 4 months but I've already seen more progress than I have the last year.

I was anxious as I was recovering from an injury but my physical therapist told me any good trainer would know how to adjust. I had just received my tax refund and I was ready to find a trainer. I'm gonna be 30 this year and my older brother is getting married in August. It was time to lock in. I was set up with Stefan and thank goodness I was. He is the sweetest person I have ever met and I really felt like I built community because of him. Bri is a client AND their main point of contact for setting up paperwork and payments and I grew so close to her. Her and Stefan made working out fun again for me. I was so happy to come and work out and it never felt like a chore. The workouts are tough but very do-able. At train with dave they want to make sure it becomes habit, not just a phase. For my final 12 week photos that I've attached, I'm supposed to wear the same outfit but I was in the middle of moving. That's the only reason I couldn't continue in person but I love Stefan and the program so much that I am continuing with virtual training. The results speak for themselves. Having now experienced FIT Brea, I'm definitely kicking myself for not trying this gym out sooner. I've only done their group fitness classes so far, which range from 8-12ish people in size, and I'm looking forward to trying out the personal training sessions when my schedule opens up! Here are a few ways that make FIT Brea a standout: COACHING: The coaches here are the whole package! 1. They all have stellar credentials, with many of them holding advance degrees and multiple certifications. In short, they know their stuff. 2. At the risk of sounding facetious, I just want to make the point that the FIT Brea coaches actually coach. It might sound like a no-brainer, but it hasn't always been my experience that coaches do much more beyond demo-ing the moves and saying "good job" or "keep going" every few minutes, especially in a group class setting. Here, the coaches constantly move throughout the room to offer individualized pointers on form, differentiated movements depending on individual strength and mobility, alternative movements for injuries, and encouragement and motivation to keep pushing so I can get better and better. 3. They are all super patient, encouraging, and welcoming! PROGRAMMING: The programming for the group classes are thoughtfully and methodically designed. From what I can tell so far, the workouts are structured in mesocycles with a progressive overload pattern. This is important because if we do the same thing over and over, our bodies will adapt and we will not make appreciable gains over time. With progressive overload, our bodies are constantly challenged so that we can keep increasing strength and improving hypertrophy. COMMUNITY: The FIT Brea community is so nice and helpful. I felt welcomed by the coaches and the other patrons from day one. Several people who recognized that I was new introduced themselves and helped me find and set up various equipment. Others even put my plates and dumbbells back during transitions. Just last week, the whole class broke out into spontaneous applause and cheer when I pushed out that last rep of bench press, haha! The mutually encouraging environment really underpins the whole vibe and experience here. It's a special thing. MANAGEMENT: One of the things that I didn't realize would make a difference in my overall gym experience is having direct access to management/owner. In my past gym experiences, the questions/concerns I had would typically have to go up a chain of command before I got a response. Since FIT Brea is owner-operated, the patrons can directly talk to Andrew, the owner, who is so nice and provides exceptional customer service. SPACE/EQUIPMEMENT: It's spacious, well-maintained, clean, and an overall pleasant environment to train in. CLASS OFFERINGS: I'm a busy mom who works full-time hours plus daily commute. I'm thankful that classes are offered as early as 5am and as late as 6:30pm so that I can get my training time in! If you are looking for a gym where you can optimize and maximize your fitness goals (whatever they are), look no further because FIT Brea is it!
